Welcome to your home-away-from-home here at Gold Creek Lodge! This custom mining-themed cabin is nestled in the ponderosa pines in the highly popular Powder House Pass area. Located in a perfect location centrally located within the recreational corridor of the Northern Black Hills, you'll enjoy the convenience of having Snowmobile Trail #5 and the Mickelson trail adjacent to the neighborhood. Are you traveling to the Black Hills to see the sites? Spearfish Canyon is only a 5 minute drive from the cabin where you can enjoy waterfalls, rock climbing, fishing and hiking in the rim-rock canyon walls of the canyon. Terry Peak can be accessed in a short 5-10 minute drive for some skiing adventures, and you can be in Deadwood in as little as 10 minutes enjoying the nightlife and festivals that frequent the area. Mount Rushmore, Keystone, Custer State Park and more are only a 45 minute drive from the property as well! Walk out your door and snowmobile, hike, ATV or bike without having to hook up a trailer and find a trailhead. Whether you're visiting for a relaxing getaway or an adventure filled vacation, Gold Creek Lodge is sure to please!

The main level has a large open concept with a grand entry, large windows filling the cabin with natural light and great views of the surrounding forest, and cathedral ceilings. You'll find quality rustic finishes throughout the cabin with wooden timber accents, rock and metal accents, and a large fireplace in the main living area. There's 5 total bedrooms, all 5 of them with King beds, 2 of the bedrooms each have 4 twin beds as bunk beds (4 total bunk beds), and there's a sofa sleeper in the lower level family room as well! The open kitchen leads right into the living area, perfect for gathering and creating the wonderful memories with your family and friends. Make your next vacation to the Black Hills a memorable one! Great rental

We had a wonderful time staying at this property. Easy check in and so much room. We loved the sauna and the hot tub. I would have given it five stars, but the home itself is starting to show some wear along with the towels etc. for a home to sleep 20 people there was plenty of plates and utensils but not enough dining seating. All in all a great property.

Was great location. Plenty of room for my family. Living room furniture wasn’t very comfortable. Nice having king beds and plenty of bunk beds. Pull out couch not comfortable.

Great cabin! Awesome for our 10 adults! Great location with easy access to Northern Hills. 2 of the 6 bathrooms are 1/2 bath, maybe I missed that in the listing info... still worked out though!

Great time!

This is the second time we have stayed at this house and we love it! Plenty of room for a group of people. The only thing we all noticed during this stay was that there was very little water pressure in the showers. Other than that our stay was great!

Family ski weekend

Overall awesome experience! The home was beautiful and very close to everything! We had a group of 18 and we all slept very comfortably! So many bathrooms which really helped. Our only complaint was that the property wasn’t very clean when we arrived. Other than that we would definitely stay here again!

Dorwart Family Christmas

Wonderful for our 2 family’s with children the bunk rooms were perfect. The kitchen was just perfect as we did all our meals at the house. Kids used the basement family room almost entirely so that left the main living room for us. Enjoyed the hot tub several times and the big dining table was used not just for meals but also lots of games for young and old alike. We couldn’t have chosen a more perfect place. Thank You!!!!

Lead family vacay

We were so busy sightseeing that we were all together in the mornings for breakfast and evenings for dinner and games. The hot tub was great. Didn’t use the sauna. Could have been cleaner. Sweeping behind furniture, for example and cleaning the dirty towels and bedding from the upstairs closet.. The video game machine did not operate, and couldn’t find the ball for foosball. But, overall super roomy for us all and plenty of bathrooms.

Sturgis Motorcycle Rally

This was a great home that was decorated and furnished way beyond our expectations. Our group of 12 adults had plenty of room... with specific areas to spread out, or to be together. The home was furnished with all the appliances, pots, pans, dishes and glassware needed. The location is ideal, and the sub division is very upscale. The garage and driveway had plenty of room for all kinds of vehicles. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property and will definitely return next year.

Perfect escape

Beautiful property, great setup for 10 of us. We enjoyed all the amenities, view and easy access to trails. It was also a short distance to Lead/Deadwood. Only downside was we had concerns bedding hadn’t been cleaned prior to our arrival (found an obvious fresh stain). During a pandemic it would have been nice to have assurance that had been done. We took care of things ourselves and enjoyed the property!

Great property!

The house was just the right size for our family of 13 the house and grounds were beautiful. It was a very quiet neighborhood. We took family pictures in the back yard and the snow and trees was a perfect backdrop. The only drawback was the upstairs toilet did not work. Hopefully it will be fixed for the next renters. Budi did what she could on a holiday weekend I would definitely recommend this property for a family gathering.

Wonderful House!

The house and property were amazing. Pictures don't do it justice. Newer facility, overall clean, spacious, and comfortable beds. The only draw back, the bedding smelled like dirty, greasy humans. I had to wash sheets on some of the beds because it smelled so bad. But the detergent they use is poor quality, so that's likely the culprit. Just be prepared to not care that the sheets smell like someone slept in them.

Great stay BUT…

Our family had an amazing stay. The property had enough room for our family of 18. The decor was nice, kitchen had plenty of dishes and pots. I would defiantly stay here again. There are few things I do believe they could do to improve the stay. The bedding and mattress are old, not very comfortable. We booked 5 days, they did not have enough toilet paper, paper towels or trash bags. I had to go buy additional. The towels had an old musty dirty smell. I do believe it is from the washer, we tried to wash some towels and the wash machine smelled up the entire laundry area. Dryer took all day to dry one load. There are no balls for the foosball table. The arcade game was not functioning properly until my daughter spent time reconnecting several cords. The lid to the hot tub was broke. Improving these areas would make the money spent more justifiable. We love our time together as a family and enjoy the Black Hills.

Nice house but several issues

The Black hills are gorgeous and this house was very beautiful. However we encountered many issues during our stay which left us with less than a great stay. We brought all of these issues to the rental company right away but they only fixed two items which were safety hazards during our stay (a missing smoke alarm and a glass shower door that was clanking against the other glass). The cleanliness was not great as there were cobwebs in many corners and the fridge door was dirty.. Also… - Light over oven was out - Front half bathroom door didnt close - Fire pit knob was missing-so it stayed only on a very low flame - Bathroom in first level master door woudlnt close - Several handles missing from kitchen cabinets - Top rack of dishwasher was stuck/broken - One window opener handle in one of the upstairs bedrooms was missing. -Upstairs AC was not effective which is why the windows were so important. - One of the lights in the basement near the arcade game flickered constantly with any movement from the upstairs - Front door lock did not work reliably - only the garage entrance worked right I would also mention the pool at the main area was VERY small and crowded so no relief from the heat available there. The hot tub worked well but would definitely benefit from a good cleaning and the sauna was a nice feature although it took forever to heat up. The kitchen was well appointed but super disorganized like nobody checks in between stays to make sure things are in their place. Overall our stay was ok but I would most likely choose another house next time.
