Villa Edem is located on the outskirts of Kontomari, southwest of Platanias. Less than 15 km from Chania, one of the most beautiful cities in the Mediterranean, in the western part of Crete
The beaches are less than 5 minutes away!

Villa Edem is a traditional two-storey house of around 90 mÂČ, located on a private, enclosed property of 1000 mÂČ.

This villa, with magnificent sea views, is only 1.5 km from the sea and its beaches. It is surrounded by thousands of olive trees.

On the ground floor you will find a first bedroom with 1 double bed, then a second with 2 twin beds that can be grouped together. These 2 bedrooms are equipped with independent air conditioning. A bathroom completes the entire ground floor. this bathroom is equipped with a walk-in shower (2018 equipment), and a toilet.

Upstairs, you will find an open and spacious space that constitutes the living room, with its traditional Cretan fireplace, as well as the dining room and its kitchen fully equipped with the essential equipment for the success of your vacation. Two individual sofa beds, can possibly accommodate 2 children.
A bathroom + WC completes this set. The upper floor is also equipped with independent air conditioning.

From the living room you have access to a large terrace where you can enjoy a magnificent view of the sea, mountains. This terrace is also equipped with a table and chairs in order to make this pleasure last ...

Outside, on a plot of 1000 mÂČ closed and planted with trees, you can benefit from an infinity pool of around 35 mÂČ of the latest generation (2018 equipment) with sun loungers and parasols. Finally, private parking inside the property is reserved for you.

Hidden among olive trees, in total privacy, but close to everything, our villa will offer you all the comfort you want for the happiness of the whole family.

Gorgeous and comfortable

This villa is beautiful and the hosts were super helpful and communicative when needed. Pool is so lovely and gets sun all day. Kitchen was really well appointed and it's a short drive to any amenity you could desire (grocery store, restaurants, the beach). Lots of great local recommendations from hosts and previous guests. Some surrounding villas are being worked on/built as of Oct 2024, but workers were not noisy and we barely noticed. Would be happy to stay here again.

A peaceful retreat in a beautiful setting

We had a wonderful stay at this charming and cozy villa with its own pool, nestled in an olive grove. The villa offers a beautiful view of the sea from the balcony and is perfectly situated away from the hustle and bustle of mass tourism. The villa is very well-equipped with everything you might need, and the spacious grounds are meticulously maintained. A rental car is essential, but with one, nearby shopping options and the beaches are easily accessible. The villa is located in a peaceful area, though depending on the wind direction, the nearby highway can occasionally be heard. Communication with both the owner and the local manager, Hannah, was prompt and effortless. We highly recommend this villa and would love to return.

A Cretan treasure

Vacation days are among the most precious days of the year, and you hope that everything is okay and that you feel comfortable. And we were not disappointed. Everything was perfectly prepared, and our hosts did everything they could to make us feel at home from the very first minute. They were also very flexible on our arrival day – a special thank you for that. Despite the somewhat changeable weather in mid-May, we were able to really relax and enjoy the surroundings. The terrace offers a beautiful view, the cozy living room is a great place to feel at home, and the kitchen was well-stocked. Communication regarding minor questions was quick and helpful; it couldn't have been better. And the pool cleaner was also booked in before he arrived, as it should be. Thank you for that, and also for the culinary welcome. The walk to the beach and sea, a few minutes by car, was no problem; everything was perfect. At night, everything was quiet and safe. In summary: The 10 days flew by, and we would have loved to stay longer, but everything has its time, as the saying goes. A heartfelt thank you to our hosts; we had a wonderful rest. All in all, a clear recommendation without reservation.

Lovely base to explore a wonderful island

We spent 3 very nice weeks in June at the villa and returned with great memories of Crete after many wonderful excursions and experiences. The property provided an excellent anchor point for many activities. The villa is in a quiet location in an olive grove, a little away from the touristy coastal town. The beautiful Xania is within easy reach. Likewise, many of the particularly beautiful beaches in the west/southwest of Crete can be easily reached. Well-stocked supermarkets are within a few minutes' drive. Many activities can be booked locally, such as diving. We would definitely recommend a car for visitors. The very well maintained villa was the perfect size for us as a small family. The pool and barbecue sweeten the stay at home. You also get used to dinner on the balcony with sea view very quickly. The villa has a well-stocked kitchen, preparing fresh food for our baby was no problem. The cot and high chair are very helpful for parents of small children. We would like to thank the always very friendly landlords and the local staff for the great and smooth stay and the always very good and friendly communication.

Tolles Haus in guter Lage

Wir haben 10 Tage in der Villa Edem verbracht, und haben unseren Urlaub sehr genossen. Das Haus ist in sehr gutem Zustand, sehr sauber und gut ausgestattet. Die Umgebung in dem Olivenhain ist großartig, sehr ruhig und abgeschieden, aber man kann viele StrĂ€nde und SupermĂ€rkte innerhalb weniger Minuten erreichen. Der Kontakt zum Vermieter war problemlos, somit alles wunder bar. Wir können die Villa Edem nur weiterempfehlen.

Schöne Villa mit wunderbarem Außenbereich

Schöne Villa mit Pool und tollem Außenbereich! Wir hatten eine wunderbare Zeit hier. Die Villa liegt in den HĂŒgeln oberhalb von Maleme und bietet von der Dachterrasse einen Panoramablick bis zum etwa eineinhalb Kilometer entfernten Meer. Insbesondere der Außenbereich der Villa ist absolut geeignet fĂŒr einen wunderbaren Urlaub - Pool, verschiedene Sitz- und Liegemöglichkeiten, Grill, Blumen, Palmen, viel Platz...wir haben uns sehr wohl gefĂŒhlt. Das Haus ist mit allem ausgestattet, was man so braucht. Maleme erreicht man in etwa fĂŒnf Minuten mit dem Auto, zu Fuß sind es um die zwanzig Minuten. Auch der Strand mit Restaurants und CafĂ©s ist in weniger als einer halben Stunde fußlĂ€ufig zu erreichen. Vielen Dank an die Vermieter!

Wunderbar gelegen, alles da, was man braucht!

Wir hatten 12 Tage Urlaub in der Villa Edem und bekamen zur BegrĂŒĂŸung einen Korb mit Leckereien und einer lieben Karte in der KĂŒche vorbereitet. Es ist alles im Haus, was man braucht! Zwei separate Toiletten auch (gut mit Teenager). Mit dem Auto sind es 5 Minuten bis zum Supermarkt Synka, 10 min bis Lidl oder Platanias. Es ist einfach toll gelegen. Der SchlĂŒssel ist bei Ankunft hinterlegt und bei fragen und Hilfe ist Hannah jederzeit per Whattsapp erreichbar. Christine hat sich auch um unser Wohl gesorgt wĂ€hrend des Aufenthalts. Der Pool war einfach klasse und die Aussicht super. Ein Auto sollte man hier trotzdem haben. Nach Chania in die Altstadt sind es 27 Minuten mit dem Auto und die Anbindung an die New Road ist super. Es war ein toller Urlaub!

Sehr schönes Haus in toller Lage

Wir hatten einen ganz tollen Herbsturlaub Mitte Oktober. Die Lage des Hauses ist sehr schön, am Hang in Olivenplantagen mit Meerblick. Leider wird gegenĂŒber grade ein Haus gebaut. Die LĂ€rmbelĂ€stigung war teilweise erheblich, deshalb der eine Stern Abzug. Ein Auto vor Ort ist sinnvoll. Das Ankommen war sehr angenehm, VorrĂ€te fĂŒr ein schönes Essen waren da. Der Grill funktioniert gut. Der Hausservice funktioniert super, Hannah und ihr Mann sind sehr nett und stehen immer mit Rad und Tat zur Seite. Auch die EigentĂŒmer hatten tolle Tipps und Christine hat uns mit vielen Informationen versorgt. Den Pool zu heizen war absolut sinnvoll und durch die Abdeckung nachts auch wirkungsvoll. Toller Urlaub, gern mal wieder!

Wonderful stay

We have had a wonderful time at Christine and Gilles villa. Communication before and during our stay was extremely helpful. Hannah was there to greet us upon arrival providing lots of information about places to visit. We received the most generous welcome package we have ever had! The villa was beautiful, high up on a hill amongst olive groves, very private with spectacular sea views. The children loved to play in the pool every day. Thank you very much for making our stay so special. We hope to return one day.

Villa was absolutely perfect with everything you could need. Pool beautiful and clean. Surrounding garden lovely, perfect for barbecue and ‘eating in’ nights. Shops and restaurants short drive away and the people were so friendly everywhere we went. Great communication with owners and Hannah who was always available to help. A fantastic villa with scenery and heated pool

We had a fantastic 9 days stay at the villa with family, my kids of 8 and 11 years old. Beautiful villa. Close to all the amenities. We felt like home at the villa. The pool was heated and we enjoyed the pool even when the weather was in 18-20 degrees. Owner Christine and Gilles were really helpful . Hannah who was looking after the villa was really helpful with all the needs. I would recommend this villa to anyone who loves to have a quiet holiday. Thanks Girish

Ein wundervoller Aufenthalt in einer wunderschönen Villa.

Die Villa ist ein Traum, so schön. Man fĂŒhlt sich gleich Zuhause. Die Einrichtung ist sehr geschmackvoll und gemĂŒtlich. Die Gastgeber haben zur BegrĂŒĂŸung einen kulinarischen Willkommensgruß besorgt, das habe ich noch in keiner Ferienwohnung bzw. -haus erlebt, sowas liebes. Ein toller Urlaub.

Klasse Villa in toller Lage

Ich habe hier alles so vorgefunden wie beschrieben, und auf den Bildern dargestellt. Wir kommen gerne wieder. Die Kommunikation mit Fewo war etwas schwierig, und dauerte zum Teil mehrere Tage bis Antworten kamen, BegrĂŒndet wurden die Verzögerung mit der Aktuellen Lage durch COVID 19,das ich aber so nicht verstehen, und teilen kann.

Beautiful villa

We have just spent 10 days in the beautiful Villa Edem . The villa is better than the pictures and the pool is wonderful. The villa has everything you could need and more for a peaceful safe getaway. The main town is only a short drive away with lots of shops restaurants and beaches. A perfect stay.just make sure you have your own data for gadgets as it’s difficult on the island in certain places.

Lovely place in the Olive hills

We had a very pleasant stay in the villa. The villa itself is very beautiful and well equipped. Everything is designed with love and nothing is missing so that we felt like home. Nous avons passĂ© un agrĂ©able sĂ©jour dans cette charmante maison. TrĂšs bon accueil (quelques petites attentions). Les extĂ©rieurs et la maison sont plaisants. Les Ă©changes avec la propriĂ©taire sont apprĂ©ciables. Elle est d'ailleurs trĂšs arrangeante. L'endroit est idĂ©al pour circuler dans l'ouest de la crĂȘte (la canee, plages paradisiaques d Elafossini et de bolos...). Vous pouvez louer sans soucis si vous souhaitez visiter l ouest de la crĂȘte. Seul petit bĂ©mol : la maison est plutĂŽt prĂ©vue pour 4 personnes pour le moment car on ne peut pas faire l obscuritĂ© dans la piĂšce du haut.
