Log home in peaceful cove. Great for multiple families. Starlink internet
Lazy Life Lake Lodge We have replaced our grill with a new stainless 5 burner grill and have also replaced all mattresses and box springs, king size beds in bedrooms 3 queen beds in loft. This gorgeous log home is located in a pristine cove in the Cove Pointe / Big Creek area on Norris Lake (point 6). The lake is literally right out your window. Home is in a cove so lake/ dock is primarily accessible may, June, July, aug early September due to lake level dropping in the off season. We still book outside lake season as the area is a peaceful getaway to enjoy family time.
The home features two main decks that over look the crystal clear lake and woods and there are 2 smaller decks on the side of the home and out front. Great places to hang out.
The home itself boasts a well furnished great room that is so welcoming and includes a nice large fire place with a newly installed big screen TV above fireplace. Great place to relax and enjoy family. Also a highlight are the excellent dining areas both inside and on the main deck with a wonderful view of the woods and water. You will find that everyone seems to gravitate to that main deck and its so fun to settle in after a long day on the water to laugh and tell stories. The kitchen is fully equipped and up to date including disposal, blender, dish washer etc. so you can focus on the fun stuff rather than the clean up. The washer and dryer in the main bathroom offers further convenience.
All bedrooms are roomy and tastefully finished- pillow and fresh bed linens provided. And if you fall asleep on that comfy couch... well... people might just leave you there!
Also- just in case of a rainy day we have videos and games but feel free to bring your own favorite fun stuff. The cabin has Wi-Fi but we hope you spend most of your time on the water and don't really need it.
The easy walk to the dock and water is a short path through the beautiful canopy of trees. You may see deer- turtles- squirrels- wood peckers- otters or just about anything on your way to the lake. The dock gives you plenty of room to put your boat and feel free to bring your jet skis and put then on the 2 jet ski ports. Sequoyah, Whitman Hollow and Star Dust Marinas are near by. In season you can enjoy great food and drinks at the marinas.
Need a boat look up local marinas for rentals.
You just wont find a home this nice in such a beautiful cove on Norris Lake at this price. Trust me- this is the best part of the lake! And the beautiful cabin is perfect!!

We had a great time at this location. The house comes with all the amenities to facilitate a weeklong stay. The location on the lake provides a great cove to swim in (kids absolutely loved the slide) and we were able to visit almost all the marinas on the west side of the lake via boat. Would definitely recommend a stay here.
Great vacation, very nice location, the house is fully equipped only one suggestion that they should pay more attention to the cleaning service because there were some places that were poorly cleaned, besides, everything was great and we had a nice time there
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We had a gorgeous week and were able to spend time on the lake daily. Bring your own DVD/blu ray movies if you like to watch movies - there is wifi but it doesn’t support online movie platforms well (but the owner was upfront about the wifi). Awesome family time!!
Its a great location with plenty of room and a very nice part of the lake. We had camp fires, used the dock, rented a boat and went off-roading near by. Stock up before you go, your about 25 minutes from groceries. If your into water sports or fishing, the lake is amazingly clear and you can hop from marina to marina to refresh and eat.

Private and beautiful
We had a great weekend staying on the lake here at this beautiful cabin. We stayed for the weekend and found this cabin to be very private and found so much to do to jam pack our stay with lots to do. Would definitely come again and would recommend to a large family or to just a couple to get away. Owners were very kind and responsive with answers to my questions. Thanks again!
Very nice cabin. Norris Lake is very clean. The only thing i didnt agree with was the clean up rules when leaving. I can see straightening everything up but, wiping down bathroom and kitchen counters, and stove
and refridgerator, plus sweeping all the floors, emptying all trash and starting a load of towels and sheets is what you pay a cleaning fee for.
If you are looking to get away from hustle and bustle of everyday life, this is a good place to do it. The beds were great. This is a large place and will sleep a small army. It is a nice cabin, right on beautiful Norris Lake which has some of the clearest, cleanest water you will see. Communication with the owner was very good. Everything worked. We went during the off season so the lake was dropped to winter pool levels. I think it would have been nicer at summer pool levels and taking a boat, but we just wanted some time together as a family. I recommend it.

Beautiful home
It was ok. Room were set up well. It did not have kitchen towel, bath towels for 10 people, not enough oven dishes to prepare meals. They wanted you to do their clean-up for them. strip the beds. Isn't that what the cleaning fee is for I thought.
We loved our time at the Lake House. It was in a beautifully quiet cove with a really fun water slide for our kids to play on. Swimming off the dock was a favorite of ours. The dock was a great place for our boat and we loved the rope swing across the lake! The lake itself is so clean...
We enjoyed having fires out in the fire pit and dinners on the screened in porch, all with views of the lake. It is important to note there are a LOT of stairs between the lake and the house, so get ready to get some exercise! We also loved paddle boarding...
The hosts were great and quick with their responses, despite the difficulty with reception...
Home was spacious enough for our large party. Location on a very quiet cove was amazing. Communication with the property owners was prompt and helpful. There is not much mention of it in the listing, but the driveway is a bit steep. This is challenging (if not impossible) for backing toys (i.e. boats, jet skis, etc). There is plenty of parking at the top of the driveway (adjacent to the road). With a little pre planning for your towable watercraft, the driveway shouldn't be an issue. Otherwise this is a fantastic location at a fair price!

Dirty & Tricky
Overall the house was pretty much as advertised. The cleaning crew did a BAD job prior to our arrival. My wife spent the first day cleaning.
Prior to our arrival the Gangplank to the dock had been damaged and was unusable. I had let the homeowners know of this and was told that the dock guy would be there to repair it on Sunday or on Monday, when we departed, No one ever showed up. Not that we would have not used the dock, but the homeowner should have let us know prior to our arrival that there was an issue with the dock.

Nice, But Could Have Been Nicer
Outside was in very poor condition, piles of brush spoiled view of cove, tree limbs in water by dock, mulch washed away from areas, area just not very clean ! House was clean, but we had ants from day one in several areas of the kitchen and dining area. There was four bags of trash left from prior visitors and we ran out of space for trash as communication was poor with the trash pickup person ! We still had a good time, but feel for the money the outside area could have been much cleaner !! Lastly, bottom patio was not used by anyone because of the shape it was in.
Possibly the best communication I've had on VRBO is with these owners, easy checking in and out as well. We had two jet skis and rented a pontoon so their dock had ample room with 2 boat slips and 2 ski ramps. We loved spending our afternoons hanging at the oversized dock and floating in the clean quiet water in the cove. The picnic table and umbrella on the dock was extra nice. No lighting on 3/4 of stairs or at the dock otherwise we would have spent evenings down at the water too. The driveway is narrow and steep so for folks with pickup trucks & trailer, be prepared to park at the narrow road above (bring chocks) and walk the incline down to the house. The 3 levels of the house was nice so no one feels crowded. The A/C worked like a champ in the 80 degree temps (90% humidity). We had everything provided for, right down to the electric griddles. Enjoyed the peddle boat, paddle board, noodles and extra life vests. Definitely bring water toys for variety. The beds were comfortable and the rooms spacious. Those that stay in the loft however will not have any privacy. Be aware....internet is spotty depending on weather and cell reception is practically non existent unless in certain places at house, up at road or at marinas. That's the nature of the area tho. We would stay here again just for the dock/cove alone.
We had a large group of family (consisting of 5 smaller families) together at the house, and it worked very well for us. Overall, there were pros and cons, but there was nothing that was a deal breaker for the week and we were able to enjoy our time there as a family.
Pros:
* Check in was super easy
* Host was quick to respond to messages and to try and help where they could.
* The beds were very comfortable
* The photos represented the house fairly well, and we pretty much got what we were expecting.
Cons:
* As some other reviews say, the driveway is very steep, much steeper than it seems in the photos.
* The house was still pretty dirty when we got there. Things like the floor, counters, some dishes, and bathroom rugs were are very dirty, and there was broken glass all over the table and floor. The hosts were helpful though and got someone to bring us over a mop as soon as they could. They offered to clean, but we didn't want someone else in our space.
* The dock is in rough shape - there are multiple cracks on planks, there is exposed, sharp metal at the entrance to the boat slips, and the slide is very rickety and the water pump to it is not setup.
* The wifi barely works most of the time - if you're expecting to get any work done, you need to go into town or to a marina to really access the internet.

Norris Lake Cabin
Overall we had a great week at the Lake House. We had 6 adults and 4 children (ages 5, 3, 18 months old and 8 months old.) Scott and Jennifer were very responsive to our prearrival questions and requests. Scott made arrangements to have a PacknPlay delivered as well as a high chair and 2 new baby safety gates. They responded quickly to all my questions/concerns while we were there as well. They really went above and beyond to accommodate us.
For anyone not familiar with the Norris Lake area (we were not) these tips may come in handy:
1. From the hi-way coming in to the cabin you will wind around country roads for a pretty long stretch so “running out for groceries” is a time consuming errand. Bring as much as you can with you.
2. The WiFi was spotty at best so my adult daughter said one may not be able to “work remotely” reliably.
3. We were happy that the cabin was rather removed from the water’s edge (down a log flight of wooden stairs with railing, see the pictures.) We did not worry about kids running out of the house and falling in the lake. We did bring safety door knob covers though. Anyone with small kids may want to do the same. Our ages ranged from 70 on down and we all had no trouble going up and down the stairs.
4. We enjoyed a day trip to Cove Lake State Park. There is a big pool there, paved hiking trails and playgrounds. It is a 40 min drive from the cabin.
5. Prepare for summer rain showers! We loved sitting on the covered deck and listening to the rain. We definitely needed all the indoor toys we brought with us! Bring any kid appropriate dvds as just like Scott said their selection is limited.
5. We rented a pontoon boat for 2 days and had a blast with it. Boating is the main attraction there!
5 We lost power one night due to rain/storms so bring flashlights. There were candles there as well. Jennifer and Scott knew about the storms and checked in with us to see how we were and give us info about a possible road closure. That was so nice of them.
5. If you are a light sleeper you may want to bring earplugs if you sleep on the first floor. The sound from the main living area seems to amplify down there. Just a tip.
6. One suggestion for Jennifer and Scott: Since the cabin is advertised as welcoming children and pets you may want to instruct the cleaning crew to remove chemicals and loose dish washer pods from under the sink. We put them up high.
We did have a great time at the cabin!
Thank you both!
Loved this cabin. It was perfect for our early Thanksgiving with our family. The kids had plenty of room to play and sleep. We spent most of our time outside enjoyed playing corn hole and hanging out by the fire. The property is very peaceful and beautiful to the lake. Would recommend this property to anyone looking to get away.
Overall, the cabin was beautiful and the view even more lovely. The internet and cable were intermittent but we brought our Roku and had absolutely no problems watching tv in the evening.
The only problem we had was that TVA had continued dropping the lake level and one day after we had been out boating all day, we came back and noticed that the whole dock had been moved down in front of the next door neighbor. But we spoke with the owners (who were always responsive) and got permission from their neighbor to use their stairs.
All in all - we had a wonderful time and enjoyed our stay.
Thank you!
Loved the cabin like house, the porches, the private dock, the cove, the nature and the fire pit. All of it was wonderful!!
Perfect rooms for the whole family!!
Very relaxing and comfortable. Lots of steps to the water, but not a problem.
Highly recommend this house for family vacations!
Would also recommend renting a boat if you don't already have one, the lake is beautiful!
