The cabin itself is fantastic. Soaring ceiling in the kitchen and living room area. Wonderful decks with beautiful views. The sound of the bubbling brook running through the property is great! Our family of 6, plus a friend had the best time and made wonderful memories. Nearby Franklin and Highlands have great little shopping areas and we saw a couple of incredible waterfalls that really made the trip (Dry Falls and Cullasaja).
We were very happy with Buck Falls Cabin.
The home is beautiful and very clean and comfortable.
I would suggest new listing photos as the current photos don’t do the home justice.
Thank you Sally.
This place is ideal for a family get together or reunion. There were eight adults and two children, and we had plenty of room to move around in and avoid each other if we wanted to there’s lots of deck space and outdoor.
The only thing I would we would’ve liked is for the grocery store to be a little bit closer so be sure you have everything you need because it’s quite a drive to go pick something up if you forget it
Very nice property with plenty of space for a large group to spread out when they want and to gather together. Nice screened in rear upper porch, huge side deck area and a spacious game room for everyone in the evenings.
We so enjoyed our stay at this beautiful mountain retreat near Highlands, NC. The deck and screened-porch are spectacular with beautiful wooded views. The living area has plenty of room for a large family, and we loved the downstairs rec room, which had a pool table and an arcade console with class games like Space Invaders and Pac Man! The bedrooms were quite spacious, and the master opens out onto the screened porch. The only drawback would be the steep and winding gravelled road leading up to the house, but you soon get used to it! A great property for anyone wishing to enjoy all the Highlands has to offer.
My family and I had a great vacation in the mountains. We enjoyed many excursions to various places. This was our 6th stay at the Buck Falls Chalet. We highly recommend
We had 5 adults, 2 teenagers and a dog on this trip. The home was easy to find and had plenty of room. The inside has 2 floors and a loft giving us all room to spread out and outside there were 2 decks (one screened and one open - along with an area with swings and another fire pit by the creek). There were lots to do for entertainment (pool, frogger, card table, movie room etc). Upstairs they have a screened in porch with a table/chairs for eating outside and then rocking chairs to use while drinking coffee and listening to the creek and nature. We had the best time. Lots of love and laughter. We also enjoyed painting at the smaller table with good light streaming in from the outside. It was close to waterfalls to drive to visit and between Franklin and Highlands (both good places to shop and find something good to eat). Staying at this home felt like you were living among the trees (like a treehouse). We will definitely plan to go there again.
We arrived and were happily surprised that everything was as listed and shown. Had fires in fire pit. Played tons of pool and cards in game room. Had fun family dinners in dining room.
A wonderful place to stay.
We rented this cabin to spend New Years and it was lovely, it was a great to be apart from the city and experience nature. We didn't spot much wildlife, but we did go to a lake and a waterfall that is a short drive away.
The house itself it big, and all rooms were enough for us 8.
We were more than pleasantly satisfied with all accomodations, cleanliness, and ease of booking. We had four wonderful days with family away from the hussle and bussle of our very busy lives. We cooked and baked in the wonderfully stocked kitchen and enjoyed all areas of the cabin...we were happy to stay in the entire time. The extra basement frig was good for additional food/beverages for our group of 8. The mattresses allowed for a good night's sleep, but not the best quality. We enjoyed our stay very much and would definitely book again...thinking about next year already!
We had the best time and it was just what we needed for our Christmas holiday. They even had a tree for us to decorate. The spiral staircase takes a little getting used to, but you can also walk around outside to get to the bottom floor. The absolute best, though, was napping in the hammock listening to the little creek. We all wished we had another day and we will definitely be back if they’ll have us!
The cabin was fantastic. It was equipped with all necessary items and more. Plenty of room for our group and a very peaceful area. We have been coming to this are for 40+ years camping but because of age we no longer desire to sleep in tents on air mattress. We will definitely keep this place in mind for future visits.
Was surprised how filthy the screened deck was, I have photos. Took me 2 hours to clean this area and another hour for the deck. Baseboards, lamps furniture dusty, no toilet paper except on roll, main bath maybe had 30 sheets. Fire pit filled w beer cans and bottles, gliders falling apart. Makes me wonder how old the VRBO photos are. Hard to regulate air, would go off during the night. Lots of junk around outside. If you went to a hotel you expect a clean area totally. Not so w this cabin. Too bad, it would have been better if they had someone come over and inspect it's condition and client readiness. Sorry 😞
The house was clean and ready for us! Love the touch of having toiletry items in the bathroom for us! My only complaint, which wasn’t a big deal, not all the recliners work in the theater room. We will definitely be back!
I absolutely loved this property. Tranquil, serene and so very relaxing!! We even stayed an extra day because we didn’t want to leave! Absolutely gorgeous!!!
We had 6 adults and 2 kids and the house was perfect for us. Lots of space, beautiful property. The neighbor Buck, was very kid and had a lovely produce stand. Our only feedback is that the Wi-Fi was very unreliable for all of our 8 days. My husband even tried to contact the internet company to fix it. We relied on this as he was working remotely, so it was a big inconvenience. He had to go into town to work. But if you don’t need the internet or you’re trying to unplug, I highly recommend! Also great for kids.
First, the cabin is in a great location. There are no pictures of the spiral staircase that was a pain getting downstairs. The refrigerator downstairs did not work which was also very inconvenient while playing pool and socializing. Supposedly the realtor got it fixed but did not check to make sure it worked. Same situation with the loft bathroom which leaked into the master bathroom that was supposedly fixed but never checked. Finally, we had 4 days left on our rental and the septic tank backed up in the drain field in the front yard and ran down into the backyard. The kids had to stay away from the area and smell. I feel we should get 4 days refund instead of 1. Cabin needs major work.
We enjoyed our stay, the house was much nicer then the pictures showed! (new picture should be taken) plenty of room for all of us. My grandson loved the tire swing. The screened porch was wonderful for breakfasts in the am and card playing in the evening. Loved our stay.
we are a family of 9, from the NC coast. The stay was very accommodating with plenty of beds and space. we loved playing pool and he juke box in our down time. there was a beautiful Rat snake roaming around and some baby birds being feed in between the porches. The windy one car road was a bit scary, but we were fortunate that we never met anyone head on. Love Mr. Buck, his wonderful garden and side kick labradoodle . He is a land owner next door. We would definitely stay again!! Cathy
