Check in was clear and easy, house was clear (and super cute) great location and well stocked.Communication was clear and friendly. We really enjoyed our stay!!
Great character house with updated amenities. Wonderful location in the lovely Port Hood community - we are favourably biased to this whole area of the province. We'll be looking to visit again in the future.
Beautiful old house, very close to the water. Enjoyed beautiful sunset views, close to Cabot Trail, and enjoyed entertainment nearby at the Red Shoe pub.
Very clean and charming property with modern amenities. Walking distance to the grocery store and steps from the famous Port Hood beach! Enough space for an extended family with kids. Highly recommend this stay.
This property was perfect for us. Charming, lovely view, beautifully situated, tastefully decorated, and the hosts couldn't have been nicer. Just great all round!
Beautiful house, old but tastefully modernized to a very high standard, full of character. Port Hood was a real surprise, lovely town with beautiful beaches. Everything you could need in the house, ver
Beautiful old home with modern amenities. No air conditioners but a nice breeze to help cool down the home.
Very comfortable beds and a wonderful location.
This is a lovely, tastefully renovated old house. Port Hood is a charming area, the beaches are wonderful (the water is delightfully warm!) The house is very well equipped with everything you could want and the hosts are extremely responsive. I recommend morning coffee on the front porch.
Beautifully renovated home! Our family of five stayed here for a week, and being from the area, entertained family and friends throughout the week. The house never felt overcrowded with a kitchen / dining space perfect for the east coast kitchen party. The house is well equipped throughout. We would certainly stay here again!
We had a great stay in this beautiful home in Nova Scotia. The house was perfect for our group with two adult bedrooms and a group twin room for the children. We loved our stay near the coast and enjoyed picking up seaglass at the beach in Inverness. This was also a great "jumping off point" for beginning the Cabot Trail.
We had a wonderful time thanks in no small part due to the Yellow House! The weather was chilly while we were there but we had a cozy place to have dinner, play games and spend time with family. Walked to the beach and took a drive around the beautiful Cabot Trail.
Highly recommend this lovely place with its comfy beds, clean kitchen and bathrooms. Would recommend and rent again in a heartbeat!
My husband and I along with our daughter and her husband stayed for 4 days. During our stay we explored the local area and Cape Breton . It was breathtaking. We loved the proximity to the beach and the house was beautifully restored. There was everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Thank you so much for hosting us.
We took a trip to Nova Scotia and PEI with some friends and stayed in this lovely home in Port Hood. The home was exceptionally clean and well kept. Even though it was a 1908 house, there was hardly a creak in it! We enjoyed the location for a base during our time on Cape Breton Island.
The only recommendation we would have is to put simple locks on the bathroom doors. Overall it was a great stay and would highly recommend it.
Lovely character home. Very bright and beautiful. It was in a nice location, and we were able to spread out which was fantastic. 2 bathrooms one on main floor and one upstairs which was a bonus. We felt at home and safe at the house. We loved Port Hood and Judique. Had locals offer to help us find places and helped us when we needed to get documents printed out. Fantastic experience.
The house was immaculate and ever so comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there. The master bed was so-o-o comfortable. Expect to hear some small creaks and groans from the house at night as the temperature comes down. This is totally to be expected in an old house and did not keep us awake. The only small problem we had was the wifi service is very slow and watching any videos was really painful. We would definitely rrecommend the yellow house to people.
We had a lovely week in the Yellow House! We had never visited Nova Scotia before and this was a great introduction. Even before check in Tim was a responsive host, answering questions to get us set up for the week. Check in was super easy, and Tim let us know the house was ready early for us.
The house itself is immaculately clean and fully stocked with nearly everything you could think of. Our stay was during very warm weather, so one or two more fans would have helped, but it wasn’t a big deal. The beds were comfortable and everything was up to date. I loved the sonata the washer would sing when done with a load!
The Port Hood area is stunning. We particularly loved Sunset Beach. The water was warm and calm all week. Port Hood is a great launch point for adventures to Baddeck, Inverness, and Cheticamp as well.
Thanks to the Yellow House for a fantastic intro to Atlantic CA!
We arrived 2 days after Hurricane Fiona. Thanks Tim for confirming that the Yellow House had electricity and for your careful, thoughtful and timely updates as we decided whether to come so soon after the storm. The house was comfortable and lovely and we were able to find some places to hike. Our visit to the Doug Frazer Art Gallery was an unplanned find and we enjoyed a few great meals at the Red Shoe. We left a book for future guests about traveling the Cabot Trail. Thank for your kindness as we traveled towards the storm. A great place for a small group of avid hikers!!
