Great place for a large family
We stayed here in the winter, with a family of 12. The place was big enough to accommodate all of us, with a variety of activities for all age groups and lots of space for people to participate, not participate. The kitchen was also well stocked for group cooking which was great.

Amazing Christmas at the cottage
We stayed here with our family over the Christmas and had an amazing time. The house is very spacious and cozy. Plenty of rooms amd bathrooms for a large group. Kitchen has almost all the appliances you can imagine as well as all cutlery, etc. There are a few sitting areas with couches where you can enjoy a conversation, listen to music or watch some classic movies on VHS or DVDs. Outdoor area is also very beautiful with a firepit. Looks like it would be a great place to be at in summer time as well. Location is also convenient if you are coming from Toronto with just over 2hr drive. Highly recommend this cottage!

My Husband and I have 3 AMAZING Children and we live in a small farming community surrounded by friends and family. We have a little hobby farm where we raise and love our chickens and ducks. When we are not at The Rockhound, our family loves the outdoors and we enjoy camping during the summer months.

Why they chose this property

My husband James was taken in by his grandparents at a young age. His grandfather had built this home with his own hands and moved James and his brother up to Bancroft. We have so many great memories that we have created here. Understanding the importance of family and fellowship my husband and I purchased this beautiful property. We have continued to create memories with our children, family and friends. We enjoy sharing this peaceful getaway with others so they too can feel the comfort and joy that The Rockhound has brought our family for many years.

What makes this property unique

Beautiful view of the Lake. Close proximity to Bancroft and Haliburton. Silent Lake Provincial Park is steps away. Algonquin Park is approx. an hour by car. McGillivray Road is well maintained and plowed by the municipality. Good swimming, boating, cycling, hiking, canoeing, Fishing, x-country skiing and snowmobiling.
