Beautiful Black Hills Cabin near Deadwood/Lead

This spacious six bedroom, three bath cabin is located in the Deer Mountain resort area, just a 15 minute drive to downtown Deadwood, yet located on five acres in the beautiful Black Hills National Forest.

The view is spectacular from any of the three different level decks. The lower level deck has a Hot Tub, great for those cold winter nights, or the cool summer evenings. The main level deck provides plenty of room for a group to sit and enjoy the view, it also has a propane fueled fire table to keep you cozy. The top deck is a private oasis off one of the three bedrooms on the upper level.

The cabin is located in the north central Black Hills, a 45 minute trip takes you to the Custer area, Mount Rushmore and many other attractions. Beautiful Spearfish Canyon is just 4 miles south, one of the most scenic drives in the Black Hills. There are several golf courses within 5 - 30 minutes from the cabin. The Michelson trail is just a couple miles away for hiking and biking. A relaxing walk through the woods near the cabin is also an option. ATV, UTV and snowmobile trails are accessible right from the cabin.

The extra large lot next to the cabin provides room for trailer parking and extra vehicles along with a turnaround area for maneuvering trailers once up the hill. The cabin is equipped with an automatic whole house generator for any power outages. An added bonus is a cool Grain Bin with an outdoor enclosed fireplace inside to enjoy year round outdoor relaxation!

There is a two car garage next to the cabin that is available upon request. This cabin has everything you are looking for!

What a cute little cabin, it held us all (6 kids/8 adults) very comfortably. We were able to enjoy all the amenities without any issues. Parking was not an issues with 3 large SUVs. We didn’t need anything while we were there from the hosts, but they were very timely in our other communications.

Nice place

Speed bumps on roads to house were a bit much, the hill to go up with a 36’ trailer and turn around was a lot. Location for riding is nice. Manager was responsive to emails

Great place for large groups

The house was beautifully decorated and and had the perfect layout for a large group. We appreciated the ample parking for 6 trucks and 5 trailers. We had a blast riding the many gorgeous utv trails close by.

Amazing place

The place was amazing. Just as expected. Nice location with an incredible view. All the wives raved on the decor. All 10 of us agreed we would definitely stay there again. The owners were amazing in answering questions and helping with anything we needed. Great location for riding the trails in the area. Thanks again!

Great View in Quiet Neighborhood

This home is just as beautiful as the pictures show. It has a great view with lots of deer roaming around the neighborhood. It also has the added bonus of an automatic generator that did have to run during our stay because of a thunderstorm. It was great to still have our power while everyone else around us had to sit in the dark. Dawn was also a great host that responded right away when I had to contact her with a question. We have stayed in many VRBOs and I would rank this home as one of the top places we have stayed.

Winter weather isnt always the funnest... my family and I were looking forward to going to this beautiful cabin and the weather permitted us from doing so... we will though in fact be renting it again and trying it again... dawn was awesome to work with and is one of the best people to work with...

Very nice cabin!

Wonderful cabin. Need big garbage bag for outdoor garbage (unless we just missed it). Enjoyed sitting on the deck every night after rides. I was surprised how steep the last incline to the cabin was; we made it obviously but wish we would’ve known to go all the way up and then back trailers to the parking lot. Pictures make it look so much more flat and spacious is all. Had a very enjoyable weekend overall! Thanks so much!!

Family Getaway

The Big Sky Cabin provides a relaxed environment with beautiful scenery. The kids loved exploring around the cabin and seeing wildlife (deer, turkeys, ground squirrels, and plant-life). The location made it easy to travel to nearby activities and sites. The cabin was complete with great amenities including dishes, pots, pans, kitchen appliances which allowed us to do a lot of cooking at the cabin. The hot tub was a highlight for our grandsons! This was the first time all five of our children, significant others and grandkids were together for a vacation and we had a great time. Thank you for sharing your beautiful cabin with us. Beautiful spacious cabin

This cabin was beautiful, spacious and immaculately clean. It has plenty of room for large families or a group of friends The layout gives plenty of space for everyone to spread out. It is centrally located for many activities. We rented ATVs from right across the highway. We did a couple bike rides on the Mickelson trail. We also made trips in to Deadwoood for the Wild Bill Days. After our busy days, we relaxed on the beautiful decks of the cabin. Amazing views! The property owners were very helpful throughout the process. Answered all the questions we had. We are trying to get the rest of our family to join us for a Black Hills vacation and when they do, I would definitely rebook this cabin.

Great house, but disappointed business practice

Our group had a great time at this house rental - beautiful and spacious. My only complaint is the owner requested a cashier's check for the deposit, which we sent. A month after our stay we inquired when we'd receive our cashier's check back, in which the owner told us it was in the mail. Another month passed and we still didn't have the cashier's check, so we went to our bank and put a stop to the check. After following up with another email to the owner, he said he didn't know where to send the check. First of all, I don't appreciate being lied to, second I think this is a bad business practice if you don't have the organization to know where to send the deposit checks back to. We confronted the owner and he wouldn't even share the cost of the $30 fee we ate for stopping our cashier's check. This is a great place, but I wouldn't stay again due to the owner's business practices and I hope no one else has to experience the same deposit debacle. Good luck!

The Cabin in Lead, SD was a perfect accommodation for our group. We were very impressed with the cabin conditions and the amenities provided. The use of the garage for parking our motorcycles was a treat, especially since it rained a couple of nights that we were there. The cabin was not far from local retail and restaurant and gave us a great starting point for our daily Black Hills rides. It was nice to be removed from the Sturgis traffic, but close enough to easily attend any of the event we desired. We will definitely be back !

Great place for a family vacation!

We stayed here for a family Xmas vacation. We had 13 people. We were all very comfortable. Comfy beds. Lots of couches to spread out on. Kitchen had everything we needed to cook several large meals. Hot tub was AMAZING! We had a great time and would definitely book again!

We really weren't looking to buy a cabin (yet). But, all the signs pointed to us buying this cabin. We absolutely love it!
We fell in love with the Black Hills going side by siding and snowmobiling with our family and friends. It is a different adventure each time. We hope you enjoy our family's cabin as much as we do!
