About this property

Relax in Nature on the Cane River - Western North Carolina - Fishing & Swimming

Treehouse on the Cane River reminds us of a treehouse.

The Treehouse is located in Burnsville NC , just short drive (45 min) from Asheville, it is a special place for both families and couples to visit.

Watch the river while dining and enjoy the cows grazing in the meadows across river.

This home has 3 sleeping areas - 3 full bedrooms amazing property central to many top activities including: The Blue Ridge Parkway, Mount Mitchell, Linville Falls and the City of Asheville. Sleeps up to 5 comfortably.

Waterfront property and fun hiking trails right on our property. * NO FISHING MONTH OF MARCH. Stocked by State.

Stay at the cabin or spend your day enjoying the outdoors hiking, swimming, fishing, biking.

Watch the river while dining and enjoy the cows grazing in the meadows across river.
This extremely unique 3 bedroom 2 bath home directly on the river has everything you could ask for when visiting the Black Mountains of North Carolina. The long gravel driveway meanders through the forest running parallel to the Cane River passing by an old cattle barn and soon submerges you in a thick canopy of old growth Rhododendron.

Spring time here is unbelievably beautiful with an abundance of wild flowers which cover the land like a carpet. You can expect to see Wild Iris, Lady Slippers, Showy Orchids, Trillium of all colors, Jack in the Pulpit, May Apples, Ferns of all varieties and much more. There is a large wrap around deck with views of the river, forest and old growth rhododendron with a gas grill and outdoor furniture for outside dinning.

The living room has large windows facing the river and a brick hearth wood burning fireplace. ( At times there is fire-wood left from previous guest) You can pick up bundles of fire-wood at local convenience store or Walmart.

Don't forget to bring your fishing equipment for this river has an abundance of trout. Take your days catch to the large outside fire pit. A perfect setting for outside dining would be a hot dog cookout followed by a roasted marshmallows for desert.

We look forward to seeing you at the Treehouse.

WAY back in the woods
The place is secluded and quiet. It is carved into the mountain and right on the water. It was super clean and is stocked with all the little things you forget when you go to a VRBO. We had a great time!

This place is awesome. It is clean, beautiful, and full of charm. The owners obviously care about their property and their guests. We had a wonderful time relaxing and watching cows. We will be back.

Wonderful!
We had an wonderful stay at this charming cabin. The wood-burning fireplace and down comforters added a cozy touch, making it a perfect retreat. The well-stocked kitchen and overall cleanliness made the experience even more enjoyable. The hosts were fabulous—friendly and accommodating. The directions to the property were spot-on, and Burnsville, with its quaint town, new brewery, restaurants, and antique shops, provided a delightful backdrop. I look forward to returning with my family for river activities and fishing this summer.

Worst experience ever
Upon arrival FOUND HOME HAD A VERY STRONG MOLDY SMELL. WASN'T TOLD GRAVEL ROAD WAS A mile and a half. The cabin is at the end of road with no place to turn around. PLACE HAD NO CELL SERVICE AT ALL. HOME HAS A SHARED ROAD WITH ANOTHER HOME WHICH HAS NO DRIVEWAY SO PARKING IN THE ROAD WOULD BLOCK US IN. And there is no lights on the road. That was not included in the information which would of been important . I called the owner who acted indifferent towards us when we called. The wood railings to the water looked old and worn and the outside around the house looked like it wasnt kept up. The ping pong table / game room was musty and all the ping pong balls smashed. Definitely would not recommend. We left. Very disappointing

Hidden gem
The property is undersold on the listing! It it very nicely furnished and the location is amazing! While getting to the property seemed a little sketchy late at night on our arrival (driving closely by the two houses/cabins and old barn) it was well worth the adventure! The property is very well kept and very private! The river was easily accessible and the cabin has a beautiful view of the pasture with large rolling hills. The cabin was more than spacious enough for 4 adults and a 5 year old. We would definitely visit again!
