About this property

Waterfront Cottage w/ Private Pier, Museum Quality Sea Glass/Seashell Collection

This newly renovated waterfront cottage is located on Cobb Island, Maryland, a relaxing and quiet community bordered by Neale Sound and the Wicomico and Potomac Rivers. Cobb Island is a water lover's paradise just a little over an hour south of Washington, D.C.

The cottage has three bedrooms, two full baths, a fully equipped kitchen, and separate dining and living room areas. A museum-quality seashell and sea glass collection enhance the space throughout the cottage.

Central air conditioning, ceiling fans, wi-fi, and cable TV are provided. A desk and an office chair in the front room create the perfect set-up for remote work.

Enjoy the view, sunrises, sunsets, and bird watching from the large deck looking out to Neale Sound. Our pier is the perfect spot for fishing and other water activities. One double and three single kayaks are available for your enjoyment. Fishing gear is available upon request. Two bicycles allow for a nice ride around the island.

Directly across the street, you will find The Cove at Cobb Island Coffee and Wine House (www.thecoveatcobbisland.com), a cozy island neighborhood venue featuring fresh and healthy food options, smoothies, gelato, a wide range of coffees, teas, and cocktails, plus local products and events.

A new food market is scheduled to open in 2022 and several crab houses and seafood restaurants are a short walk away. A community playground is down the street. Swan Point Golf Course is a six-mile drive and is open to the public.

A Place To Rest
You’ll appreciate the location of this quiet, cozy and beautifully decorated home on Cobb Island. The views of the water, deck to sit outside on, comfortable master bed and perfect neighborhoods to walk in will take us back for a 3rd stay when time allows.

Be cautious!
Pros: We were able to bring our yorkie to this house. Cobb island is beautiful. People on the island are very friendly. The local restaurant (Scuttlebutt) has great food. Cons: Bedrooms are facing huge AC condenser of the local marketplace. There is no washer and dryer in this house. The closest laundromat is 40 minutes away. Kitchen is missing some necessities. Highlight: There was someone coming by almost daily to use the lawnmower and small excavator parked underneath the house. Owner accused us of damaging her grill cover, with little communication charged me $50 on my credit card without my knowledge!

Fun Sea Glass Education
We enjoyed the sea glass and books on sea glass. Unfortunately the Cove (coffee shop) across the street is now closed which was a deciding factor for us in choosing this house for our weekend trip. Certainly not the owners fault but want to let potential renters know as this is featured on the listing. The island is cute, restaurants within walking distance and bikes were available for a nice island ride.

Run down and iffy location
Property is in need of an upgrade, a little rundown, maintenance and cleanliness. It is right next to the town, post office and grocery store; this can be a good or a bad thing. The house smelled musty when you open the door. The main bathroom shower leaks, the bed is creaky and not big enough in the main bedroom and the blankets sheets and pillowcases are so old as are the towels. The Rooms are a little dirty with insects and dirt in the corners and very dirty in the windows. The dock is full of green, slime, broken steps and unable to really use from the water. Very disappointing for the price.
