The main floor has two bedrooms, both with queen beds, and one full bath with the kitchen and living area that walks out to a covered porch and a large open deck with seating for eight with a grill for outdoor barbeques. The kitchen is simple and clean, it comes equipped with cookware, dishes, glassware, a bar setup, silverware, and cooking utensils. The beach has a designated fire pit that is available most of the year with firewood onsite available for purchase by the bundle. We have 4 adult kayaks available to rent for a small fee. This cozy lakefront home offers great views of Glacier Park, Big Mountain, and the Swan Mountain range. Skipping Stones is surrounded by mature pine and fir trees offering great privacy. Wildlife sightings from the property include deer, ducks, geese, and a variety of other birds. The large Ponderosa Pine in front is a frequent landing spot for bald eagles and golden eagles.

Retro charm with stunning lake and mountain views. Home was perfect for our needs. Location very close to town of Lakeside and an easy drive to Glacier. Would def stay here again!
Such an amazing stay! Walking in the front door and seeing the views from every window was gorgeous. It was nice having the privacy from the neighbors to enjoy our coffee on the dock. Every morning there were 2 bald eagles sitting in the tree along the lake. Having that seperate space downstairs too, with each bedroom with their own bath was great for our family!
This property had beautiful lake views and easy access to the water. There were places to hang out for the whole family, next to the water, up on the balcony and in the living room. We enjoyed jumping off the dock, kayaking and swimming.
Beautiful views off the deck, and even a couple of bald eagles hanging out in the tree. House had everything we needed, and communication was very responsive.
This property readily accommodated our whole family. Water entry was safe for small children. Loved the property and its privacy. Definitely highly recommended.
Jill was wonderful! Very welcoming property with fabulous views. This was our first family vacation in 50 years. The ladies kayaked and picked Flathead cherries the men fished. We had a marvelous relaxing family time.
Our family had a wonderful stay at Skipping Stones. The home was very clean and accommodating. Perfect size for our family. We loved drinking coffee on the deck in the morning and watching the sunrise over the mountains. The kids enjoyed the swimming area and paddle boat on the beautiful days and the many indoor games on the rainy days.
We stayed 4 days/3 nights with our grown children and grandchildren at this cozy home. It had everything we needed to prepare meals and to recreate on the water. We especially appreciated all the outdoor seating both on the upper deck and down at the water. We enjoyed watching the bald eagle who loved to hang out in the pine tree on the property. We would definitely stay again!
I wanted to have a fun week on a lake with my 3 children so they could have some fantastic memories. This house met every expectation! Great location, house was very comfortable and everything we needed was there. Property manager Jill was super attentive and I could not have asked for a better experience for us!!
We rented a boat in Lakeside one day and used the dock at the cabin to come and go as we tubed and wakeboarded.
The kitchen had everything we needed to make meals and the Keurig with pods was so nice to have.
The beds and pillows were super comfy and we all had great nights sleep.
The eagles were amazing to watch in the tree right above the dock.
We will be back for sure!
Our family enjoyed the whole property which has a great dock and hangout area by the water. We went kayaking and especially appreciated the kid sized ones for our 5 and 8 year olds. There was a good sized dining table and living room inside which was fortunate because there was a big rainstorm for most of one day. We were able to play games and be comfortable during the storm.
The rain couldn’t stop us from having a wonderful time at this special and very cozy cabin!
Really we couldn’t ask for more! Great location. The lake level was extremely high and unfortunately we couldn’t enjoy the pebble beach as planned. The rain just wouldn’t let up and each day we were there we were met with showers. But the magic of this spot and this cozy little cabin was really special. We still played in the water, listened to music, sat around a fire, rented a jet ski. Maybe just maybe the rain gave us the perspective we needed to enjoy every minute of sunshine and every minute with our family.
We had an amazing stay here on Flathead Lake. The house, location, and owner were all amazing. We rented a pontoon for the duration of our stay, which is definitely a must, being right on the lake! The only reason that we gave it a slightly lower score under neighborhood was due to some very loud and potentially dangerous young adults staying right next door to us. Lots of partying, racing their jet skis a little too close to our pier, and playing loud music out on their dock until 3 am. We had to remind ourselves that, we too, were young once! Overall, a great place to spend a summer week on Flathead Lake!

Oh I'm so sorry to hear this. I have hoped that wouldn't happen. Fortunately most of the summer that house remains empty. That must have been some grandchildren and friends with free reign staying. Again, I apologize and appreciate your honest review.
We really enjoyed our stay at this house. Super comfortable furniture and beds very nice location right on the lake, wonderful patio and dock to sit on by the water. Also balcony overlooking the water. We enjoy the paddle boat, fireplace and the neighborhood is very peaceful. We had eagles, fly up and land in the tree right next to the house and hang out with us for a while. Flat head lake is beautiful. It was about an hour from Glacier National Park, which was the most amazing park out of the three we visited while out west, including Yellowstone and the Tetons. Lakeside has a grocery store and several restaurants a short drive away. Book now!!!!!
Great Property. Has everything you need -- good views and good location. Thanks -- we had a great vacation

About the host
Hosted by Jill Bork
I was born and raised right here in Lakeside Montana. My husband and I lived in Alaska for 10 years but moved home to the Flathead Valley after we had our second child. We have three children now and love sharing our outdoor adventures with them. We spend our summers playing at the lake, hiking with friends, and backpack camping. I grew up coming, on occasion, to Skipping Stones and look forward to sharing this peaceful and beautiful place with you.
