About this property
Fill your soul w/ 400' of PRIVATE waterfront w/ dock, lift, diving board & more!
EACH LEVEL HAS ITS OWN KITCHEN & LAUNDRY ROOM and sits on nearly three beautiful acres of sloped/terraced woods, landscaped gardens, paths, ponds and a campfire ring. There is plenty to do with over 400 feet of PRIVATE (NOT shared), dreamy waterfront. Enjoy your own dock, boat lift, diving board (ALWAYS a huge hit!!!), rocks perfect for sunbathing on or fishing from, a shallow area for wading and the crystal clear waters of Flathead Lake. The waterfront BBQ/eating area includes a mini fridge, sink for rinsing/hand-washing and enclosed area for little ones.
Discovering the Village of Bigfork: We sure pack a lot of things to do and see into our little town. One of the most anticipated holidays here in Bigfork is 4th of July. The annual parade on Electric Avenue brings thousands of spectators. The Bigfork Summer Playhouse will celebrate its 66th season of live, professional theater in 2025. For more information and to check the show calendar, visit http://bigforksummerplayhouse.com/about/. The first weekend in August brings the Festival of the Arts downtown. Bigfork is also home to fine dining, fishing guides, live music, cherry picking, huckleberry tasting, history, shopping and falling in love with nature.
Glacier National Park, which welcomed over 3 million visitors in 2021, is just 45 miles away. It is a 1,583 sq. mile wilderness area, in Montana's Rocky Mountains. If you haven't already discovered the beauty of Glacier, please plan to. Explore some of the most dramatic mountain landscapes on Earth. Take a Red Bus tour of Going-to-the-Sun Road. Enjoy an adventurous whitewater rafting trip, a fun horse back ride or a helicopter tour. Bike or hike 'till your heart's content. Take in some history. Find a comfy spot and watch for wildlife. Whatever you choose to do while visiting Glacier National Park, one thing is for sure. It will be unforgettable.
Whitefish Mountain (Formerly Big Mountain) is just 47 miles away. Enjoy mountain biking, hiking, zip line tours, the alpine slide, aerial adventure park, strider bike park, spider monkey mtn (ages 4+), summer tubing, scenic lift rides, and the Summit Nature Center.
If you're not already familiar with Flathead Lake, here are a few key pieces of info you should know. There are 185 miles of shoreline and 200 square miles of natural freshwater, therefore earning the title as “the largest natural freshwater lake west of the Mississippi”. Flathead Lake can be as still as still gets, however, it can also look like the open ocean. Storms and strong wind can arise seemingly out of nowhere and waves can reach 5 feet high. Because our property is not in a bay, or sheltered in any way, this is extremely important to remember. Boats should not be tied up to the dock unless under supervision. This means no overnight docking. Boats need to be on the boat lift and fully raised. The new (in 2024) hydraulic lift will accommodate up to 9,000 lbs.

About the host
Hosted by Shannon Amaral & Shawna Schara
We are the daughters of visionaries, two loving parents who had a dream to create the perfect home on Flathead Lake. Our parents bought this property in 1968 and for the next 26 years, they put their heart and soul into both their family and this home. Our Mom and Dad's dream was to make this their permanent home, offering a piece of heaven the children and grandchildren could come to every summer. This place, this home, perched above the crystal clear waters of Flathead Lake in the fresh mountain air, has completely stolen our hearts and we've made wonderful memories here year after year. After the passing of our parents, we knew we could not let it go. So much love was used to create this special place, from every rock in the garden and along walkways having been thoughtfully placed, the handcrafted spiral staircase, and idyllic ponds created from routing mountain spring water. The playhouse at the lake was even built with love by our father for all the grandkids - 28 to be exact. We now share this home and property with you, in hopes you and your family will use this amazing place to create lifelong memories like we did.
Why they chose this property
Everything you need for a relaxing & fun vacation is right here. No matter the season, no matter the weather, you won't be bored and the view and beauty is set in stone. We have worked very hard to ensure all our guests have everything they need and more. From the multiple parking areas to the condiment-stocked fridge, we're confident your stay will be one you won't want to end. And, since we, the owners, are also the hosts and we live just a few minutes away, you always have someone to contact if needed. We will surely do our very best to accomodate your needs or requests.
What makes this property unique
Since this house contains a lower living area complete with 2 bedrooms, full bathroom, small (but full) kitchen, laundry room, living room and separate entrance off the spacious deck, as well as a large stairwell and loft, it is roomy enough for multiple families without sacrificing privacy. The steep and rocky Montana landscape can be tricky for some, but it also creates the ability to enjoy the view from above.
