About this property

Flathead Lake Retreat ~ Come relax! Warm & inviting...Pristine Lakefront

Newly remodeled lakefront home just south of Lakeside, Montana on Flathead Lake! 150 ft of lakefront lawn, w/ pebble beach, hot tub and fire pit. Private setting on over half an acre.

Come sit and relax with a cup of coffee on the deck (right on the water) and watch the hummingbirds! After that, the options are endless: take one of the paddleboards or kayaks out for a spin on our protected bay and beyond, or head off to explore magnificent Glacier National Park. Return home for a glass of wine in the hot tub on our peaceful bay...or make s'mores at your campfire- all right on the waterfront.

We’ve designed the cabin to make the most of our stellar lake views. You’ll have views of the water from almost every room! An open floor plan, designer touches, custom woodwork, warm hues, and carefully carved out comfy seating areas lend themselves to entertaining, snuggling up with a good book, or playing games with the family. This project has been a labor of love for our family. Not your average wham bam remodel. We have taken every minuscule detail into account in order to provide guests with a sublime lakefront, Montana experience. We hope you can come and make some good memories at our little slice of heaven!

The kitchen is the hub of the cabin with a large island and all new...well, everything. You'll have what you need to do as much or as little cooking as you prefer. The dining table looks out onto the water and seats 6 (plus 4 more at the island). The living room is a cozy space to unwind, with a gas fireplace and comfy sectional. My favorite spot is the sitting area with primo lake views and big comfy (my #1 adjective for describing the cabin, can you tell?) chairs…calling for you to sit and read a book with your beverage of choice.

Comfort is paramount. Comfortable beds, seating, and even outdoor furniture. One of the bedrooms is on the main level, w/ luxury queen mattress, across from a bathroom with a shower. The second bedroom is tucked away on the lower level with a luxury king bed and peekaboo lake view. The bathroom on this level has a tub/shower.

Also on the lower level is a family/tv room and bunk space. Sliding glass doors lead out to a small screened porch for bug-free dining and lounging.

Firepit is right on the lakeshore. We provide s’mores makings for the campfire! Roast a marshmallow and stargaze. We’ll have more photos of the fire pit and other outdoor areas as soon as the weather improves here. We do have a small dock for your boat, but will warn you to put your prop up as you approach, as it’s a shallow parking spot.

Our swimming beach is pebbly and wonderful. It’s pretty shallow, only about 4 feet at the deepest point, gently sloping and perfect for little swimmers and launching kayaks and paddle board. Our outdoor gear is all available to you. Kayaks, paddleboard, life jackets, and canoe. Lots of “comfy” outdoor seating up on the deck, on screened porch and down by the beach. You’ll love our peaceful bay! Our property borders Flathead Lutheran Camp, which owns hundreds of acres on and around the bay that is undeveloped, helping make this spot so peaceful.

* Please, note: Flathead Lake is fed by melting snowpack. This means the water levels of the lake vary depending on the season. Water levels begin to recede in November and the melting snowpack begins to refill the lake in May. Water is back to full pool June- mid October (approximately.)

Our quaint little town of Lakeside, just 4 miles to the north, has great options for coffee, breakfast, baked goods, casual and fine dining, and a grocery store.

If you decide to venture up north, the picturesque little town of Whitefish boasts fun little shops and great dining. Whitefish Mountain Resort offers fun outdoor activities for all ages: zipline, alpine slides, gondola rides, mountain biking, huckleberry picking, and hiking.

For all of the basics, Kalispell is a 20 minute drive away. Target, Costco, bigger grocery stores, library, etc.

Bigfork, a pretty 30 minute drive around the top of Flathead Lake, is a cute village full of art shops, local theatre, and great dining options.

Last but not least, Glacier National Park is a must-see. It is difficult to describe how stunning and awe inspiring it is...if you've never been, you'll have to make the one hour drive to see it for yourself. So much to explore. Spectacular hikes for all. We provide guidebooks. Stop at Eddie's for a scoop of huckleberry ice-cream on the shores of Lake McDonald.

We look forward to sharing our little slice of heaven with you and hope you make some good memories!

~Jenna

Perfect getaway
Everything about this place is great. Location, cleanliness, amenities, recreation opportinities and more. Kayaked on the lake, fished, hot tubbed, roasted smores by the fire and enjoyed the local coffee shop in Lakeside.

It’s hard to be effusive enough about this house! Every detail was beautiful and well thought out. It’s in a fantastic location - very private and gorgeous. Jenna was extremely welcoming and helpful and the place was scrupulously clean. Next time we come to flathead lake, this will be our go-to place. Thanks for a wonderful stay!!

Perfect getaway!
This home was just what we needed! It was in a quiet spot, perfect for kids to play outside and explore safely. The view was so relaxing and Jenna did a great job of maximizing every spot to enjoy it with a nice chair! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and can’t say enough about Jenna’s hospitality. She went above and beyond when we got into a bind and was a great host. We hope to make it back and will definitely recommend to others! Thanks for an unforgettable stay!

Honeymoon Stay in Beautiful Lakeside
This property is pristine, comfortable, well equipped, and beautiful in every way. I almost want to keep this as my best kept secret but it truly is worth sharing so others may enjoy too. The owner, Jenna, has thought out everything to make your stay comfortable, easy, and still feel like a luxury vacation. The location is best of the best, it's location on the lake is ideal, and it is private yet not isolated. The perfect lakeside stay.

Could have stayed forever!
Thank you so much for sharing this perfect family retreat! this last min getaway was the ideal time for my wife and me to decompress from the real world luckily we found the ideal place to do just that (but also has great wifi speed, cell service works, etc so it's not a forced withdrawal of all electronic screens lol) My family has been renting/leasing homes on flathead every summer for 15+ years, you don't see this caliber of chrasftsmenrship or find a nightly rental with the attention to detail as we saw here. Also Jenna the host was amazing and made you feel so welcome. Lastly, never did this home feel like a vacation rental it felt like a home and for a week it was our home. We are already planning our next trip to bring the kiddos out!

My wife, Jenna, grew up up the hill from the cabin. When the cabin came on the market a couple of years ago, we jumped at the opportunity to snag such a prime piece of lake frontage. We wanted a place for our kids to make memories, like my wife had running around the bay as a kid. It is such a special spot because of its proximity to the Lutheran Camp, who provide us with our own state park next door (well, two doors down technically). We've spent the past two years essentially rebuilding the entire cabin, creating a pretty amazing lakefront getaway for our and yours to make wonderful memories for years to come. We love it here and hope you will too!

Why they chose this property

Peaceful, 150 ft of lake frontage on protected bay with mountain views, convenient location for Glacier National Park, Bigfork, Whitefish, Blacktail Mountain Ski Resort.

What makes this property unique

Our location offers 150 ft of beautiful Flathead Lake frontage (with gently sloping lawn, fire pit, kayaks, pebble beach, grass penninsula, hot tub...all right on the water.) Our peaceful bay isn't over-populated like many locations on the lake. The Flathead Lutheran Bible Camp is partially to thank for that. They own about half of the bay and it is undeveloped. You can see across the lake to the Mission Mountains, yet feel tucked away in a little gem of a bay at the same time. On our half acre property, there's a feeling of seclusion that is hard to find on Flathead Lake. We're a short drive to the town of Lakeside with two amazing breakfast spots and a few excellent options for dinner. A short drive to Blacktail Mountain for skiing in the winter. We're around 45 minutes from Glacier National Park and Whitefish (great food and shopping).
