About this property

Lake view, sandy beach, pontoon, paddle board, kayaks!

While we lovingly refer to our home up north as "The Cabin" it is far from just a cabin. Cottage on the outside, cabin on the inside, this home has it all! LAKE, ORV trails, a stunning home, and best of all you can bring your fur babies (dogs only - $100/dog). Ramp to front porch for more accessibility. Pontoon boat (10 person, 25 hp) available to rent $650 per week. This unique 3 bedroom, 1.5 bath home is located on Little Island Lake and is less than 0.5 miles from the ORV trails (Sand Lake ORV Trailhead). When the lake level is normal, we have a large sandy swimming area. Additionally, our cabin is located approximately 10 minutes from Corsair Trails, for hiking and groomed cross-country skiing. Only 20 minutes from Red Hawk Golf club in East Tawas. Be sure to check out Lumberman's Monument and Largo Springs in Oscoda. Enjoy the peace and quiet of this lake front home as you sit on the deck and enjoy your morning coffee. Lake side deck also has a patio table and Weber gas grill allowing you to enjoy nice summer evenings with family and friends. Little Island Lake is shallow with a sandy bottom bottom along the shore and island. We have a large sandy beach and sand toys for kids. Rental includes kayak’s (2), paddle boards (2), and corn hole. We have a baby gate already up at the bottom of the stairs, a booster seat to strap onto a chair, a pack n’ play, and a step stool in the bathroom for kids. Max of 10 people (not including infants <1 year of age). There are plenty of sleeping options with 2 bedroom’s on the main level (2 with queen beds) and a large loft (2 queen bed’s, 4 twin bed’s, and a full size futon). There is also a queen size sleeper sofa in the living room. Our home is located approximately 15 minutes from Tawas/Lake Huron (beaches and parks) and is less than 3 hours from Detroit. Smart TV’s and WiFi included.

We stay here every year. The house has everything you need and is super clean. The host makes sure you have a great experience. Our grandkids love playing on the beach and swimming in the lake. Being able to rent the pontoon is also a huge bonus, and nightly trips around the lake are fantastic. Our golden retriever also loves swimming in the lake and is worn out every night. They also have kayaks, paddle boards and corn hole you can use during your stay. I highly recommend staying here, you will not be disappointed.

My family had a great time. They loved using the pontoon, kayaks, and paddleboards. And they even found time for a two-day monopoly game.House was clean and cool when we got there. Pantry was well stocked; kitchenware was very good quality and more than adequate for our cooking needs.the owner replied quickly to any our questions.

The place was perfect! It was very clean and had just about anything you need. The lake was just right for the kids. They loved the boat, kayaks and paddle boards. I think the highlights for the boys were fishing off the dock and the pontoon. We all had a great time. I would definitely go back!

Perfect updated Rental for Family

Came into town to visit family. This layout is perfect for a family. New appliances, comfortable setting. Plenty of sleeping spaces. Wish we were here during the summer to enjoy the lake, but still enjoyed the view with morning coffee.

This is our 4th year we have stayed here. Property is super clean. Very well stocked with everything you need. All the comforts of home, love that they allow pets and rent out the pontoon. My husband, my parents and myself decided to go in together and purchase a lake house for us to spend vacation time at and as a place that others would be able to rent and enjoy.

Why they chose this property

We spent almost 2 years looking for what we consider the "perfect place". That included a cottage/cabin with minimal repairs (because who wants to spend your vacation time making repairs), being on a lake with a sandy bottom so the kids can play and being within riding distance of ORV trails. It took us a while, but we finally found what we consider to be the perfect place!!

What makes this property unique

One of the great things about this home is it's open main level floor plan. My dad is in a wheelchair and he get's around great on the main level. Hopefully this fall we will be installing ramps for the front porch and back deck!!!
