We had the best autumn weekend staying here. Fall leaves, lake access, downtown TC, local wineries, and nearby hikes were everything we could have asked for. The home itself was clean and comfy. The perfect place to kick back and relax by the fire after all the adventures of the day.
A nicely decorated house right on the lake in a peaceful setting. Just what we were looking for this summer. The kitchen is well equipped for cooks and coffee drinkers. So many special touches plus a responsive owner who cares about the vacationer’s needs. We loved the setting, the variety of comfy indoor and outdoor seating, and the use of the boats.

Loved having you as my guests! you treated my property as if it was your own - A big THANK YOU is sent!
I look forward to hosting you in the future.
kindly, Bill
Beautiful, renovated Cape Cod directly on the lake. Comfortable accommodations and the outdoor space made for a wonderful fall break for the kids. Would be perfect in the summer months, but the kids enjoyed watching me wade out into the freezing waters on the paddle board nonetheless. Highly recommended!
We had a wonderful visit for a 3-generation family vacation. The house was very comfortable and had everything we needed. Very private setting, screened by the woods from other houses. Right on a quiet cove, and we enjoyed the lake view from the house, the outside seating areas, and the boat dock. We made a lot of use of the kayaks, canoe and paddle boards. Location was very convenient. Bill was a great host, attentive and responsive. Hope we can go back!
Private, quiet location at the end of a country lane. House is modern with comfortable beds and furniture, an a gas fireplace. Amenities include a canoe, kayaks, stand up paddle boards and a dock with deck chairs. The lake water is clean and clear with a sandy bottom. There’s a fire pit and a BBQ grill. We had a great time!
Casa del Lago was everything we needed for a girls trip to Traverse City. Such a beautiful property! Plenty of rooms, and a common space for all to congregate. Everything was clean and spotless. We enjoyed hanging by the fire pit, definitely a pure Michigan experience. The check in and check out were a breeze. Bill, the owner, was always available to answer any questions. We had a wonderful time and can’t wait to come back!

Thanking for choosing Casa del
Lago for your “girls getaway”!
It’s a true blessing to host such fine guests, do hurry back!
Amazing week at bills property, Cassa, Del Lago. Conveniently located to several northern Michigan towns. Nice quiet spot on long lake in the cove at the sandy bottom. Bill is an amazing host and the property is stocked with every amenity you could want and more. We enjoyed having a boat at the end of the dock to go tubing and ride on and have leisurely lunch on, used the grill every day and a fire pit almost every night. We cannot wait to come back next year
We simply cant say enough good things about our time at Casa Del Lago and we cant wait to return. The house itself is lovely, well appointed and has an open but cozy feel. We cook a lot and the kitchen is a perfect size. Being on the "alcove" which is more protected from wind and weather than the broader open lake was also just perfect. The owners availability, communication and willingness to address our questions (which were few) was also top notch. We have already recommended and will continue to do so. Worth every penny.
Our trip at Bill’s cottage was nothing short of amazing. The home was beautiful, comfortable and clean. The location is stunning. Sunsets every night out on a huge dock to sit and enjoy. He had many kayaks and paddle boards for our use. Our stay was for a month and we moved right in and the kitchen had everything we needed and was fully stocked. We had excellent communication with Bill. We had a few issues come up and he immediately jumped on it and took care of everything. He’s a super nice and lovely man and would highly recommend booking his cottage. We will most definitely be back! Thank you for an awesome exoerience and making our stay for our daughters wedding so much more memorable!

This home is a perfect place on the lake. Updates were beautiful, the home was clean, all the extras were so appreciated. From the minute we booked till the time we left this home to go home, the owner was always easily accessible. We were welcomed with a special tray of treats, a welcome message, totally felt welcomed and comfortable. Easy access to the lake, kayaks, floats, canoe we're appreciated. A quick drive to traverse City for shopping, foodie tours, sweets, treats. Don't miss Boone's Long Lake inn for dinner. Delicious, great service, big portions. Our leftovers fed us for dinner the next day. This was one of the best rentals we've ever experienced. Would love to return. Bill is on the ball! A wonderful host.
This is a delightful cottage on Long Lake with a wonderful location, great amenities and a very helpful owner. Whether you want to just stay on the lake and enjoy the serenity or use it as a base to explore the surrounding area and take advantage of its activities, this cottage will fulfill your needs and expectations.
The cottage is two stories, with one BR and full bath downstairs and 2 BR and one full bath upstairs, so very convenient for groups of adults. One BR has two twin beds, so can be used for children also (plus rollaway beds stored in closet). Might be best for something like two couples with two or three children, or for half a dozen or so adults. You can fit more people, but might feel a little crowded. In addition to the rollaways, you could use the couch in the living area - it is very comfy. The downstairs is comfy and cozy, and is one long room that focuses on the lake, which is mere steps away. There is a small beach area, but easier to go swimming off the dock. There are kayaks, a canoe and a small paddleboat available. The deck facing the lake has comfortable seating - a great place to contemplate life. Off the side of the house, where the main entrance is, is a wider deck that has a BBQ and a picnic table with umbrella. There is a fire pit area in the side yard off this deck, right behind the small beach area.
The decor is very nice with some fun whimsical touches. The bedding, towels and provided toiletries are very nice. The wife works well. The TV is a Roku-based system, so I needed some instruction to figure it out, which Bill (the owner) was very gracious in providing.
Cottage is on a branch or bay off of the main body of Long Lake, so not as busy as the main lake. There are houses all around the edge of the lake, so there are neighbors, but we had no issues with any of them. The location is very nicely situated to access everywhere from all of Leelanau Peninsula to Old Mission to Traverse City and probably as far as Crystal Lake and Frankfort. It is right outside Traverse City but feels like a different world.
This has been our favorite rental in the area so far, and we are already planning a return. Thanks to Bill for all his help, recommendations and suggestions.
Staying at Casa del Lago was a wonderful experience. The property was beautifully situated on the lake (which were quiet and so serene while we were there). The home we stayed in was pristine and beautifully decorated with every amenity you could ever need. The accommodations were inviting and comfortable and we were able to relax, refresh and lose ourselves in the beauty of nature..
Bill was THE perfect host and made us feel welcome and taken care of. I can’t recommend this property enough!
A cozy, comfortable and well-appointed getaway on the shores of Long Lake, perfect for couples or small groups, with all the amenities needed to enjoy a relaxing visit to the lake. There are kayaks, a paddle board, a paddle boat, and a canoe available with the cottage, and the owner can make the pontoon boat available as a rental. There are lots of sitting areas, both inside and out, and the addition this year of more dock space allows for putting chairs out on the dock, the perfect place to watch the sun disappear into the treeline on the other side of the cove. With a location close to Traverse City and all the attractions of the Leelanau and Old Mission peninsulas, yet feeling like you're at your own private resort, this property makes the perfect vacation rental.
Communication with Bill was easy! The property was so clean, and had everything we needed for a fantastic vacation. The kitchen was so well stocked - we appreciated that!
This was our 2nd year at Casa Del Lago for a family get away and it was another perfect vacation. A well equipped and beautiful home on a gorgeous lake with never ending activities and exploring nearby. New outdoor furniture on deck and dock were great for all to watch sunsets, boaters, kayakers and wildlife. Bill is a wonderful host. We will be back!
We have stayed at many properties around Long Lake and this one is by far the best. The best...
- location
- value
- property
- place to relax (bed are comfy)
- toast s'mores
- management
- sunsets
I hesitate to recommend so highly as fear it will be booked up next year when we would love to come back, but this property is outstanding and a real home from home - the owners go the extra mile to make you feel welcome.
From the moment we drove down the driveway to the house everything felt special. Bill was an amazing host and addressed any questions we had right away.
There were so many special touches that were done in the house to make sure we were comfortable. Loved the kitchen and each bedroom was so beautifully done and the bedding was done just like a hotel; super comfy.
I will definitely keep this location on my list for next year and have already suggested it to friends.
Thank you Bill for making our trip so special!!
Had such an enjoyable experience with my family there. Some many little touches throughout the house that made the stay even better. The heated bathrooms are AWESOME. Colors were great and many really nice hiking trails nearby. Can’t wait to go back in the summer.

Why they chose this property
I was introduced to the area while visiting my daughter while she attended Interlochen Academy. I found it difficult to leave, so I placed a foothold with long term plans to remain, when that time arrives. Till then we offer our humble abode to you for your personal enjoyment.
What makes this property unique
The cottage is located in the perfect location. Lakeside living and yet when you have the desire you are a mere 10 minute drive to the heart of downtown Traverse City and 5 minutes to Interlochen Academy.
