About this property

Comfortable Family Gite in a small hamlet, sleeping up to 6 with large garden

Right in the heart of the rolling Brittany countryside and surrounded by forests, Les Vallées Gite is a 100 year old traditional Breton longere (long-house) stone farmhouse that has been tastefully renovated into a comfortable and relaxing family Gite that will be exclusively yours for your holiday break.

The Gite is in a small hamlet of 5 houses situated right in the centre of Brittany on the border of departments 22 (Cotes d'Armor) and 56 (Morbihan).

We're perfectly situated, only 40 minutes from both the North and South Brittany coasts, as well as having being close to many local attractions within this beautiful part of North-West France.

Originally a traditional stone and slate French farmhouse, our Gite is now a relaxing family holiday home with a half-acre garden in a tranquil hamlet that can sleep up to 6.

The Gite has retained many of its original farmhouse features such as massive oak beams, carved fireplaces and traditional tiled floors whilst we've added modern comforts such as central heating, halogen hob and oven, double glazing, a dishwasher and power shower.

Downstairs the main L-shaped building consists of a large Lounge with working fireplace, a fully-fitted Kitchen and a toilet/shower room; whilst upstairs are two double bedrooms and a twin bedroom, a separate toilet and the bathroom.

Outside, the Gite is situated in a roughly half acre enclosed Garden, surrounded by fields and woods. Between the two 'wings' of the Gite is a floodlit gravelled courtyard and a large open barn on the opposite side. We have plenty of outdoor toys for the little ones and a range of cycles if you fancy a bike ride!

Our rental prices are fully inclusive of all utility costs (heating, electricity, water) and we include bed linen as standard. Towels are not included as most guests bring their own, or we can add them for £5 per person.

About the host

Hosted by Geoffrey and Liz Coan

Host profile image
Geoffrey and Liz live and work in a small rural village in Bedfordshire, UK and we have two teenage sons.

Outside DIY and enjoying our holiday home in France, Geoffrey is a qualified Microlight pilot and Liz loves horse riding.

Why they chose this property

Les Vallees is a real "home from home" with everything you need for a comforting relaxing holiday. We're in the middle of central Brittany with plenty of historic and interesting places to visit, and yet are equidistant to visit the beaches of both North and South Brittany - just 40 minutes drive away.

What makes this property unique

We love the peace and tranquility of our Gite, the birds nesting in the eaves or the barn and taking their first flight whilst you eat on the patio. The French way of life is so much less hectic than back at home and we find we can truly relax when we're over there.
Our children love playing on the outdoor toys and can run off steam in the garden, or if its wet then there's a wide selection of games, toys and DVDs to keep them entertained inside.
