Great place for a girls weekend! Loved the accommodations, Arne thought of everthing! Kitchen had everything you need to prepare a meal. The decor was great. Felt like a home away from home!

This warm and inviting property felt like home with comfortable furnishings, a perfectly equipped kitchen open to the living areas, fireplace, a nice library of books and games (in case of rainy days), and beautiful grounds for exploring or enjoying the views from the front porch. The location was perfect for us--a peaceful quiet retreat, yet also close to the shops and restaurants in Hudson, Olana State Park, and the many other outdoor/indoor things there are to do in Columbia County. The hosts have thought of everything, and were responsive and easy to reach with questions.

The Hudson house is a perfect getaway. The layout is perfect for four people. Plenty of space to spread out. The deck is delightful and the view of the farm across the way is spectacular. And the house is artfully decorated. Very peaceful would definitely come back.

OMG, Arne's house is a dream! It is set in an idyllic location amongst GORGEOUS trees, and the interiors are lovingly curated and comfortable. Also, you will sleep like a baby here...the sheets are soft, the pillows are perfect, and the bed is like a cloud. The kitchen is stocked with pots, pans, spices, and everything you need to make a meal. If you are looking for a wonderful place to recharge while you explore the Hudson Valley, then this is your place. And did I mention that it's close to several wonderful farm stands? Because it is!! It was so hard to leave this Shangri-La, and we are already looking forward to visiting again! Oh yeah, one more thing, Arne provides great communication and has helpful recommendations.

The house was wonderful. Splendid setting. Furnishings and kitchen were very nice. There was an unexpected chore for visitors in leaving to avoid an additional cleaning fee. We had to wash our sheets and towels and dry then to avoid a hefty cleaning charge. With just one washer and dryer that required 2 times to get everything dry. Otherwise our experience was great.

We are very pleased you enjoyed staying in the house and that the overall “experience was great”. And thanks so much for leaving the house so neat! As for the laundry; we ask our guests to wash the linens to lessen the time the cleaning person must be at the house – a savings we pass along by not charging a cleaning fee, as most rentals do. We state this in the rental agreement and in the house rules. What I may not have made clear is that if our guests don’t have the time to finish the laundry and need to checkout, it’s okay to leave the linens spinning in the dryer – our cleaner will finish the cycle when she arrives. These days it’s hard to keep house costs down, but we try to come up with creative ideas to do so – we are one of the highest rated houses in the Hudson Valley and one of the most competitive, price wise, and are trying to keep it that way!

We absolutely loved this treasure of a cottage tucked away in Hudson! It was as described and more the rooms were clean and beautifully furnished appliances were high end (loved the kitchen) and the Great Room with those wonderful windows was perfect for lounging and eating dinner. The deck was so relaxing for sipping coffee in the morning or wine later. The front porch had very comfortable chairs and reading out there was lovely with nature all around. Arne was so easy to work with and answered my email questions so promptly I had not worries about our stay. The beds were very comfortable. It was a great trip for a wedding and I would definitely stay there again when I am in the area. I highly recommend this host and cottage!

The house was one of the best rentals we’ve had. The setting is lovely, as is the house itself. The house is clean, spacious and comfortable; the kitchen well organized and easy to work in; the beds very comfortable. The natural lighting is great (fantastic in the room with the fireplace). The electric lighting is exceptional in every room. One suggestion might be to ad grab handles for going down the basement stairs to the excellent washer and dryer. Another might be to cut back some of the vines on the deck railing to make the beautiful back yard that rolls down to a creek more visible. Both the front porch and back deck are great and the view from the front is relaxing and expansive. The location is perfect for exploring the area and the drive into Hudson, while only 10 minutes, is along wonderful country roads.

Place is located in a quiet neighborhood with a nice backyard where you can take a short walk to a creek if you love the outdoors because it was very interesting. Everything needed was there with no complain. Book readers has places to sit and relax in the open air ..yes I would highly recommend this place

Our second time staying at this beautiful house. Super comfortable and clean with a great mid-century vibe. This year we visited Art-Omi a fun 125 acre art park about 15-20 minutes away and downtown Hudson is only 10 minutes away for great food and shopping.

This was an excellent property for our two-night stay, very close to downtown Hudson so the location was convenient. We were in town for a family wedding. The property was very clean, located on a very private road so it was quiet as can be. The grounds were beautiful and the interior of the house was clean and spacious for what we needed (we were not there during the day very much). The only thing that I would point out to future renters is the owner requires an additional rental agreement, outside of VRBO, be signed. That took us by surprise, but when we checked with VRBO, they said it was legit and not fraudulent. We had the agreement checked by family lawyers who said it was very one-sided in favor of the owner and we provided some feedback to the owners on how they might adjust their agreement to be more balanced. We left it up to them as to whether to act on our "free" legal advice. We signed it as is, but did ask that responses to some questions we had be documented through VRBO's messaging system so we had record of the intent of some of the clauses in their contract. Besides this legal aspect, we would highly recommend this property to future renters.
