Il Coltro is a Farm House in front of San Gimignano in Toscana, near Siena. Originally built during Middle Age, when it was a part of a fortified monastery set near a crossroad where the pilgrim’s rout was called “Via Francigena”. The present architecture is the result of various remanegment of the XV and XVII century.

In 1997 after a full restoration, 7 apartments have been obtained, which though very comfortably equipped, keep up the touch and style of a TuscanyFarm House. The colours of wall, the furnitures, the fitting, create a unique climate, a enjoyable look back to forgotten life rhythm.

Absolutely beautiful view and great accommodations!

My wife and I had such a wonderful time and would fully recommend anyone who wants a relaxing time to spend it at Il Coltro. Mauro and his wife couldn't have been more pleasant and helpful. Their recommendations for dinner were excellent and one of the highlights of our trip. Specifically the recommendation for us to visit a friend of theirs who has a small vineyard for dinner and wine tasting. It was a great experience and honestly it felt like having dinner with family. If my wife and I can make it back to Italy again we will schedule another stay with Mauro and Il Coltro! Thanks!!! Andy Pilcher
