Il Coltro is a Farm House in front of San Gimignano in Toscana, near Siena. Originally built during Middle Age, when it was a part of a fortified monastery set near a crossroad where the pilgrim’s rout was called “Via Francigena”. The present architecture is the result of various remanagement of the XV and XVII century.

In 1997 after a full restoration, 7 apartments have been obtained, which though very comfortably equipped, keep up the touch and style of a TuscanyFarm House. The colours of wall, the furnitures, the fitting, create a unique climate, a enjoyable look back to forgotten life rhythm.

A relaxing and authentic Tuscan agriturismo

When we arrived we got a very warm welcome, including a bottle of red wine from the region. This set the tone for the rest of our stay. The property and the surrounding gardens are very nicely maintained and decorated. The pool is a great place to relax and enjoy the silence. From everywhere on the grounds there are panoramic views over the Tuscan hills, including San Gimignano. We would highly reccommend Il Coltro and we hope to visit again soon.
