About this property

The best of both worlds - rural but within easy reach of Munich!

This beautiful, renovated 3-room apartment can be reached quickly by car from Munich airport and by train via Munich Central Station. The village train station is just a few minutes walk away, with direct trains to Munich and Ingolstadt (journey time = under 30 mins). Driving to the property? Park your car in the on-site garage.

Enter the apartment through the garden, bathroom to the left and straight ahead into the fully equipped kitchen. The main bedroom is to the rear with a large double bed and French windows. Upstairs is a newly renovated loft space with lounge area (which can be converted into another sleeping area with one single sofa-bed), as well as an open bedroom with a queen bed.

We will supply the bed linen and towels so no need to worry about those!

Walk straight from the bedroom out onto your own terrace and breakfast in the sunshine or enjoy a balmy evening with a glass of wine. Internet TV plus Amazon Prime. Washer/dryer facilities available on request for an additional fee. We have bikes available should you wish to explore the beautiful Ilm Valley.

We live in the main house and are happy to help you as much or as little as you need. We are native English speakers who are fluent in German; as highly qualified English trainers we can also offer English tuition, right here in our rural retreat!

An ideal location for runners and/or cyclists in training and in search of clean country air. We have used the myriad of local off-road routes, both benign and challenging, to prepare for marathons, half marathons and triathlons. So, come and get fit or fitter!! If you just fancy a walk we will gladly point you in the right direction for a walk suited to you.

ABSOLUTELY NO SMOKING inside the apartment. No extra guests and no parties. Please note that we live in the adjoining house and would hope that guests treat the apartment in a way they would want their own home to be treated.

Oktoberfest in Munich

Emma and Billy were wonderful hosts and the property is perfect. The train into town was very easy to navigate. I would recommend to anyone visiting Munich.

Little gem of a property. Our hosts were amazing and couldn’t do enough for us. We even had a bike tour with them of the local area! Transport into Munich was very easy and peaceful location to return to. We will be back as it was such a lovely property and hosts.

Perfect location

The location was just right for those who don’t want to stay in the city. The drive between Munich and Emma‘s house was very scenic and became one of my favorite parts of the day. Emma and Billy were fantastic hosts, and my entire family wished we could have stayed longer.

Sisters in Munich

We loved having Billy and Emma’s as our base as we explored Munich and the surrounding area. It was great to come back to the quiet rural area in the evenings and enjoy the peaceful surroundings while still being able to reach Munich quickly and all that it has to offer. Emma also provided great information for using the train and we felt very comfortable using it soon after we arrived, especially coming from an area with virtually no public transportation.

Personable hosts with a lovely garden! Well stocked apartment. Easy access to Munich by car or train, 30 min ride. Emma went above and beyond doing laundry for us TWICE! One worry is the slippery wood stairs from the loft, wear socks or slippers with some tread. Overall highly recommended place to stay in beautiful Bavaria!

Schnucklige Unterkunft

Wie haben diese Unterkunft gebucht, um ein paar Tage in München zu verbringen. Mit dem Zug am örtlichen Bahnhof gar kein Problem. Vor allem die Betten und die frisch duftende Bettwäsche waren sehr behaglich. Die Eheleute/ Gastgeber waren sehr freundlich. Aufgrund des kühlen Wetters konnten wir leider die Terasse nicht nutzen ( toller Garten drum rum ). Gerne einmal wieder ☺️

Die Vermieter sind sehr nette Leute. Die Wohnung ist perfekt für ein paar Tage. Die Betten sind sehr bequem. Auch für einen gemütlichen Abend passt alles, genügen Platz auf dem Sofa, was sich ganz einfach zu weiteren Schlafplätzen umfunktionieren lässt. Bonus war der Netflix und Amazon Prime Video Zugang! Das Badezimmer und alles ist sauber. Hätte es an den Tagen nicht geregnet wären wir zum Frühstück auf die kleine Terrasse gegangen, sehr toller Garten!

We moved to this Bavarian village in 2007 and since then have been renovating the house and landscaping the garden - still a work in progress, the apartment is comfortable, newly renovated and a lovely place to spend a few nights. As the garden is ever-changing, photos here do not do it justice!

What makes this property unique

The train station is just a few minutes walk from the apartment. In 28 minutes you will pull into Munich central station, from where you can take another train to explore further afield or spend the day discovering the delights Munich has to offer.
