Quinta do Feixe - Country House

THE FARM

Feixe Farm is a century-old estate built in 1882. It is about 8 ha, located in Lugar do Feixe (Basto-Santa Tecla) in Celorico de Basto. It is part of a unique forest of sycamore, chestnut and oak trees, and crossed by a stream of clear waters.

It consists of three totally independent cottages each with its own private pool and well spaced to ensure privacy and a different ambience and livability.
The originality of the architecture of each house is well integrated in the landscape, with full respect for the surrounding nature. Each of them is decorated in an elegant, functional and comfortable manner, for maximum comfort and well being at any season.
Thoroughbred Lusitanian horses are the great passion and the reason for the existence of this property. Here we breed, teach and practice traditional Portuguese riding with Lusitanian horses, considered the world's best saddle horses, whether in classical riding exercises or simply to enjoy a stroll in the farm or in the surrounding forest.

FIG TREE HOUSE (GUEST HOUSE)

The former caretaker's house,completely rebuilt and renewed, a 150 sq. meter abode, consists of 2 suite bedrooms, large common room with fireplace and kitchen, plus a comfortable and cozy mezzanine. It is fully equipped with appliances, satellite TV,internet and heating. It accommodates 4/6 people. The house is dominated by a secular fig tree.

The living room has access to a large terrace overlooking the private pool and surrounding lawn.

THE HORSES

Here we breed, teach and practice traditional Portuguese pure blood Lusitanian riding horses, and we are equipped with all necessary infrastructures, so you can take advantage of the world’s best saddle horses in classical riding exercises or simply trot in complete tranquility in the surrounding nature. Individual lessons and internships in Portuguese horsemanship and riding are available.

Peaceful Relaxing Retreat in The Portuguese Hills

What a wonderful holiday; a chance to experience and see the real Portugal away from the tourist traps. The villa itself was lovely; large, cool in the heat and traditional with all the luxury amenities including a superb pool. It was quiet with no traffic and only horses, dogs and kittens for company. Glorious views across the hills and winding roads between the many small villages that dominate this area. Jose and Anna could not have been more helpful and welcoming. A great base to explore the coast, Porto and local mountains all of which can be reached in no time. Will definitely be back if this review hasn't booked the villa for the next 10 years....

O Minho no que tem de melhor

Uma semana em pleno paraíso. Localização fabulosa, piscina maravilhosa, uma casa belíssima com todas as comodidades que se podem pedir. Cavalos, cães e gatos fazem companhia e a delícia dos mais novos. O proprietário além de uma simpatia esteve sempre perto e o encarregado da quinta resolveu pequenos problemas num piscar de olhos. Gostámos tanto que planeamos já regressar. Um alojamento 5 estrelas que recomendo a todos.

Das Haus gehört zu einer Farm ist eigenständig sehr schön von der Bauweise - sehr großzügig geschnitten - vereint modern mit alt - toller großer Pool - tolle Außenanlagen - Schatten und Sonne wie man es mag. Merci beaucoup à José pour son accueil et ses attentions régulières ( légumes du jardins, petits gâteaux portugais, vins) , la maison est très confortable et la région magnifique. Endroit idéal pour les amoureux de la nature et des vielles pierres, beaucoup de sites historiques à proximité à visiter . Relax in the midst of nature with the most hospitable landlords you can imagine.

A uniquely beautiful holiday. The house is located somewhere in nowhere and is ideal to switch off. The hosts, José & Anna, are super friendly and accommodating. We spent many evenings with them. They have brought us closer to the Portuguese way of life. Our daughter was able to ride on the horses regularly and the house dogs Tobias and Mikes have always taken care of us. Who likes the country life, is in good hands in the country house "Quinta de Feixe" in Celorico de Basto. We will definitely go there again ...

Vacaciones en familia

Fuimos 2 matrimonios con 3 niños (en total 7 personas) y la experiencia fue muy grata.La casa tiene 2 plantas; en la primera hay una cocina amplia, subes 4 escalones y te encuentras el salón con una gran terraza que aprovechamos para hacer desayunos, comidas y cenas.Subiendo unas escaleras desde el salón encuentras una pequeña sala de estar que se usa como habitación de 2 de los niños gracias a un sofá-cama.También hay un lavabo.Todo es muy diáfano, sin paredes que lo hacen más espacioso. Hay puertas en las 2 plantas para acceder a la piscina y también otra en las escaleras que conectan ambos pisos.En la planta inferior están las 2 habitaciones con sus dos baños. La casa está en una "quinta" centenaria, y lo primero que te encuentras son los establos con los caballos de los propietarios.junto a ellos está su casa, y a unos 50 metros subiendo una cuesta empinada está la casa.Esto te garantiza cercanía con los propietarios por si tienes alguna urgencia, pero también tienes intimidad porque no hay visión directa entre ambas casas. El trato por parte de los propietarios es excelente; al llegar nos encontramos un detalle de bienvenida, siempre preocupados porque pasáramos una buena estancia pero sin agobiarnos.El segundo día tuvimos un problema con la caldera y se desvivieron por solucionarlo.Como sucedió por la noche y el servicio técnico no podía ir hasta el día siguiente nos prestaron su casa para que al menos los niños se pudieran duchar en agua caliente ese día.Para rematarlo, el último día le dieron una pequeña clase de equitación a los niños. La zona es muy bonita, hay sitios para pasear por la naturaleza, varios parques acuáticos en los alrededores, y ciudades interesantes que visitar:Guimaraes está a media hora, Braga a menos de una hora y Porto a poco más de 1 hora.

perfect stay for a perfect holiday

This holiday house is a true gem. It combines elements of the old structure of the 19th century with a modern architecture, a great pool and a quiet and green environment. The house offers more than enough space for a family, a well-equipped kitchen, cool sleeping rooms and beautiful bathrooms. José gave us a warm welcome and was the perfect host throughout the week. We very much enjoyed the company of the horses near the house. If you are looking for a base to explore the beauty of the north of Portugal, then this is a perfect location. Gut um sich vom Alltagsstress zu erholen. Obwohl es abseits steht, kann man mit einem Mietauto in kurzer Zeit einen guten Einblick in den Norden Portugals erhalten. Die Gastfreundlichkeit der Portugiesen und des Hausbesitzers ist überwältigend. Selbst das Reiten der eigenen professionell geschulten Lusitanos ist ein Erlebnis für sich. Des hôtes remarquablement attentionnés 😊!

Très bon moment passé chez José et Ana, adorables. La maison, la piscine et le jardin sont fidèles aux photos. Le tout étant très fonctionnel, propre et de très bon goût. Un petit ménage est fait au milieu d'un sejour de 15 jours. Les petites attentions de bienvenues ont été très appréciées. José est un excellent cavalier et aime partager sa passion. Ses chevaux sont magnifiques et on adore les voir en liberté dans la propriété ainsi que les adorables toutous et chatons. Vous serez à moins d'une heure de Porto centre , Braga et Guimaraes. En résumé, un parfait endroit pour découvrir le Portugal nord.

merveilleux endroit

Maison tout à fait conforme au descriptif. La maison est située dans un cadre magnifique, dans une région variée ( beaux villages médiévaux, réserve naturelle) et très accessible( à moins de 80 km en moyenne). La maison allie tout le confort nécessaire à un séjour estival( piscine jardin terrasse) à celui d'un intérieur conforme au descriptif ( très beau matériau, belle salle de bain).L'entretient est très bien assuré y compris à mi course d'un séjour de deux semaines : très appréciable. La qualité de la consctruction et le climat rendent les nuits agréables malgré de belles températures la journée. L'accueil par le propriétaire est chaleureux, disponible, de très bon conseil, tout en étant respectueux. Magnifiques chevaux dans la propriété, élevés dans le respect qu'on leur doit.

Très agréable location

La maison correspond bien à la description qui est donné. Rénové à partir d'une ancienne bâtisse, elle est aussi contemporaine dans sa conception et son mobilier. Sa piscine privative est très agréable. Le propriétaire est très sympathique et est la pour rendre service dés qu'il le peut. Cette location est bien situé pour visiter le nord du Portugal, elle est à 1 h de Porto, près de la haute montagne et de la vallée du douro entre autres. A recommander sans souci.
