Flattered to be in Porto Sea View Apartment A

Lodged in an historical building, Flattered to be in Porto apartments were rehabilitated according to a design by the architectural office Barbosa & Guimaraes. The interior design, framed by the Atlantic and the Ourigo beach, was authored by Architect José Carlos Cruz.



In order to adapt to its new use all the apartments were intervened. Besides the conquered flexibility, a new layer of complexity was added with the drawing of new boundaries between spaces. Therefore all the eating vs. living areas as well as resting areas were defined. This step allowed to enhance the architectural qualities of the building and by doing so it contributed for an expanded fruition of space and landscape. Every unit showcases an individualized interior design with small bookcases, vintage furniture, contemporary classics and great fabrics. All of this enriched by the works of Young Portuguese Artists from the Flattered Art Collection.



Flattered to be in Porto apartments are located at the heart of Foz do Douro. Rua Senhora da Luz is one of the main commercial streets of the neighbourhood. Here you will find one of the most genuine places in town with some of the most famous restaurants just a few meters away. You will also find plenty of little neighbourhood shops, still run by old traditional families, cafes, beautiful terraces by the sea and even a small supermarket. All of this in walking distance.

Meeresblick durch Baulärm zerstört

Das der Ferienwohnung direkt angeschlossene Nachbarhaus wird gerade grundlegend renoviert, was aber so in der Beschreibung nicht angeben war. Von 7:30 Uhr bis 17 Uhr von Montag bis Freitag mit nur einer Stunde Pause am Mittag wurde dort gehämmert, gebohrt und schwere Schleifmaschinen eingesetzt. Wir haben direkt auf einer Baustelle gelebt und wurden schon am frühen Morgen durch extremen Baulärm aufgeweckt, der den ganzen Tag über anhielt. Unsere Bitte an den Vermieter, (bescheidene!) 15 % des Mietpreises zurückzuerstatten, wurde abgelehnt mit der Begründung, die Bausteller läge nicht in seiner Verantwortung. Er sähe ein, dass es laut sei und bietet einen Voucher in Höhe von 10 % für eine Anmietung einer anderen Ferienwohnung von ihm irgendwo in Portugal, zu nehmen bis zum 31. Dezember 2022, an. Dies mussten wir ablehnen, weil wir bis zu diesem Zeitpunkt nicht wieder nach Portugal kommen können. Der Aufenthalt war mehr als getrübt und wir sind sehr enttäuscht!
