We spent two nights in the yurt while visiting Zion and Bryce parks. It really was comfortable and met our needs. It had all we needed and we slept well! The WiFi worked well and it was nice to have a TV. We used the refrigerator and outside fire pit which were both great! The only complaint is that the soaps and controls in the shower were a little high for a short person! I’d definitely stay again if in the area!
I’ve always wanted to stay in a yurt and finally got it done. It was Awesome. This yurt was very clean and had everything you would ever need in a yurt and lots more. Comfortable and warm. Nice touches with the private fire pits and propane grills. If you are sensitive to sound, you might take some ear plugs. Highway noise, dogs barking and roosters crowing go right thru the walls. Felt very safe and a great location to so many trails and parks.
Built into a hillside, yurts and small houses comprise the East Zion Resort. It is newly constructed and continuing to develop, with a pool and infrastructure improvements to come.
The yurt we stayed in was perfect for us, it is well outfitted with everything that we needed, despite its small size. We grilled on the deck and roasted marshmallows over the gas fire pit while enjoying the view from above the small town of Orderville.
As a bonus, we booked the Slot Canyoneering tour - it was a highlight of our entire vacation. Micah and the other guides are fantastic. Another family booked the same tour, so the 2 guides managed 2 men, 2 women, and 5 boys and girls ranging in age from 7 to 16.
The location is about an hour from Bryce Canyon, 20 minutes from the east entrance to Zion, and 30 minutes from Kanab.
