Cool little place and perfect for our two night visit to North Star casino. Place was clean and kitchen had pretty much anything you would need. Host was responsive and easy to work with.
It's a very nice place. The lake and provided boats are a fun way to spend your days. Did a little fishing and the dog loved swimming. I do have to mention county road D is adjacent to the front of the yard. It seems to be a well used logging route and not safe for kids or animals. Keep your dog on a lead at all times.

Thanks for your feedback and five star review and thanks for being our guests! The road traffic has slowed back down now since the logging of downed trees (from storm with very strong winds in May) in nearby Bowler has completed. Thanks again!
The property location was great, all amenities as listed. Shower was not useable as we could not get anything but scalding hot water in the shower. Could use a bit better cleaning/dusting.

Thanks for the feedback and glad you enjoyed your stay. As mentioned, a plumber was not able to arrive and adjust the water heater until the day after your request (your departure day) since this is a rural area. The water temperature is now adjustable and working fine according to our guests over the past two weeks. Also, we have hired a new cleaning service with an employee nearby and they do fantastic work. Thanks again for being our guest!
Host was nice but property only gets checked once a week so if u book for that day they do go sooner so if there’s a problem you don’t know until you want to check in. We had to wait 3 hrs due to an issue they didn’t check on. The hot tub was dirty and the water is very strong mineral wise so we got a rash. The beds are very old and it wasn’t very clean. It worked for what we needed but it was hard to relax after a long night so we just ate and went to bed.
This is not a luxury stay, it is a cabin with access to Tileda Pond and some of the watercraft to get out on it, while having a place to sleep and make meals if you choose to. The indoor hot tub in the outbuilding is nice to use when the weather outside does not cooperate with being on the water!
When we travelled a lot, the quality of a shower was important and good water pressure and plenty of hot water is available here. The beds are small for two, but the pillows are comfortable. If you happen to own stand up paddle boards, bring them along, the dock can be used to launch them. Given the close road access, and some of the bedrooms being in the outbuilding, it may not be suitable for young children, but it is fine for adults.

The cabin is in dilapidated condition. Carpets are filthy. Walls are rotten with holes in them. Dock unusable. Landscaping and front entrance very unkept. Beds are horrible and rickety. Linens are old enough to vote. Strong smell of mold/mildew. Kitchen was clean but scarcely stocked with dishes, pans, cups, utensils. If you just need a bed to sleep in and 4 somewhat sturdy walls, this place is adequate. Definitely not vrbo worthy or anywhere worth the price.

Disliked: Cleanliness, amenities, property conditions & facilities, communication
The property is unkempt and in need of serious repairs. The shower and toilet were badly stained with water-damaged walls and debris on the floor. It advertises three bedrooms, but one of the bedrooms is in a detached shed with no plumbing or ventilation. The back porch seemed unsafe and the front porch was under construction with rotted eaves and exposed electrical. Access to lake was poor and recreational equipment was in poor shape. I really feel like I was duped with renting this property.
My husband and I were looking for a secluded place on water with canoeing, fishing and walking distance to a bar/restaurant. This was perfect! The water was not for swimming but the cabin came stocked with a kayak, canoe, row boat and a paddle boat. The main house was perfect for what we needed - bed to sleep, deck to sit on with our coffee and fully stocked with kitchen, bedding needs. We did not spend much time in the 2nd house (green building) because we didn’t need the space. We did use the hot tub once and it was clean to use. The rest of the green building could use a thorough cleaning, it looks as if it isn’t used much. We were about a 15 min drive to Shawano and spent a lot of time exploring everything it had to offer, including a new favorite supper club, Kassidys Studio Lounge. We also took the 10min (or less) walk to Wright Place Bar and Grill to have some drinks and good food. Our host was very helpful, quick and thorough communication before and during our stay.
Do not bring your family here! Stay far far away from this property, the bad reviews are 110% spot on! owner says he has a cleaning crew but as you can tell immediately upon arrival there is not much cleaning going on. Down right nasty, lipstick marks/finger prints on the windows, 100s of dead flys in the door/window jams. Dirt/dust on everything. the place is falling apart, shower head held on by duct tape, roof leaking making the drywall peel by front door, back deck is rotting away you can put your finger through the frame. The “secondary building” is in even worse shape! Coming from a short term rental owner this place gives us short-tern rentals a bad name! Needs to be pulled off VRBO!

On a five star scale this property has a 4.3 Star Rating. A professional cleaning business cleans the property upon every guest check out. Property damage was done during your stay, maybe this action influenced your review.
BEWARE!!! All bad reviews are true! Pictures are a huge misrepresentation of what this cabin is! The cabin is falling apart & the lake is over grown & can barely be accessed. The dock is falling into the water. There are boats but you can’t get to them & they look unsafe.During our stay there was a HORRIBLE smell. After 24 hours the host sent someone to investigate & they found a dead animal under the cabin. We continued to have to smell it our entire stay. I asked for reimbursement for the night we had to spend with the dead animal & the host denied. When we arrived, the a/c wasn’t on & it was 90 degrees outside causing the cabin to be a disgusting smelling hot box.The bathroom wall was disgusting & falling apart as well as the front entrance roofing. We didn’t use the shower bc it was gross & I felt I would get dirtier getting in it.There were carpenter ants all over & critters scattering when I opened the cupboards. There is a small tv with a dvd player & old dvds. The volume had to be maxed in order to hear it over the window a/c that had to be on full blast. The mattress was 3 mattresses stacked on top of each other. The pillows had stains. This is the worst experience I’ve ever had.
This cabin reminds me of an older family cabin. It’s not modern but it is very comfortable and there’s a lot here for the money. Lots of sleeping spaces and a comfy living room. Don’t miss the grassy area near the dock! Very nice for outdoor activities.

Not what we expected
First off I will start off my review by saying the property owner was responsive in replies but lacked the customer service to offer any partial refund or discount for our troubles. Now, arriving at the property, entry was very simple though there was no real check in and 4PM check in seems pretty late for a rental.
The main attraction to this rental happened to be the abundant list of watercrafts available to the family. The main attraction being the paddle boat. Upon arrival we went to the watercrafts and every last one of them was face up and FILLED with water. When we notified the property owner he mentioned the help was out of town and unable to service the residence recently. The entire first night we spent cleaning up the water crafts from the water which was not easy at all. The paddle boat was stained green and filled with spider webs and muck. After spending almost an hour and a half cleaning out the paddle boat we sent the kids out into the pond on the paddle boat . (Not a lake by the way). Upon floating into the middle of the pond they realize the steering linkage was broken and only one side of the boats peddles would activate the drive. This immediately raised the already stressful first look at our “vacation”. After rescuing the kids we then had to drag the aluminum boat onto the shore which was filled almost 1/3 full of water from the past however many rainfalls which it was not dumped. Once we drained that ~another hour later the kids could finally venture onto the pond. It got dark within 30 minutes of their venture. The firewood was provided but left completely exposed to the elements and we ultimately had to go buy our own wood to make a fire. The tile in the kitchen was broken and my wife stubbed her toe on it breaking her nail. The screen door also was also partially detached making keeping the door open near impossible. The hot tub was low on water and very chlorinated. the jets sprayed our 8 year old in the eye while powering on the jets. The water was almost bright green. I was only able to go in it once before I decided it was not properly treated. (We keep a pool). Very disappointing when I look back at the vrbo cost after all said and done.
Overall stay is what we expected. Cabin was clean enough. Owner was responsive when initial door code was not working. Enjoyed our time outside while we were here.
My wife and I took a few days to get away, relax and recharge. This was a great place for that as we used the spa twice daily and we were able to just have time to ourselves.
Cabin Sweet Cabin - a nice retreat from the world.
The main cabin is very clean and sleeps 4 comfortably. Our host Aron was prompt with his responses to the two questions I asked while there. I dont feel like the little green cabin is really a place for people to stay, I am not sure it is air conditioned and we stayed during a very hot week. The air conditioner combined with the fan kept everyone cool in the main cabin. I would not have been confortable with small children at this location due to the proximity to the road. There are large trucks that drive pretty fast on that road. The Pond is very pretty and we had a fox sighting as well as a hummingbird moth! Needs a little TLC but you can see where the owers are making improvements. Overall we really enjoyed our stay.
There were two buildings. The red bldg. was very clean and updated. The green bldg.needed a bit TLC and upgrades.
Very peaceful on the water and in the evening. Daytime traffic was a bit noisy. with many heavy trucks transporting logs, alfalfa, etc. I wouldn't recommend this property for young children because it is very close to road and fast traffic. If you are adults the pond was very nice for fishing, boating and kayaking. The evenings were quiet and enjoyable around the fire pit.
We were pleased with this property for what we wanted to do there. We didn't go swimming because the shoreline is not very shallow for wading in even though water appeared clean. Loved the idea there were no motorized crafts of any kind on the water which cut down on noise level.
Some areas to address : Kitchen needed some items like tongs to turn meat on grill, a working can opener, a larger grill when feeding 5 or more people, some medium sized bowls or rubbermaid containers for leftovers or mixing salads, pancakes etc. Plus dish rags and cloths were not in sight and it took me two days to find them(stashed away in a large bowl above stove, not where I woh9 quite aways from sink
The remote control needed batteries and t.v. needed to be hooked up to use DVD player. And lastly, the paddleboat only worked on one side and there were no directions as to how to regulate and use spa only the safety measures to follow.
I don't mean to sound negative because we really enjoyed our stay, these are just a few helping suggestions to improve ease of use. On our last night there we ventured to the local park for "pie in the park",some kind of fund raising event.
Aron, the owner was very helpful in sorting out and explaining things we weren't familiar with.
