Best place to stay in Mammoth

We enjoyed our family vacation in Mammoth due to the wonderful accommodations. Conveniently located near mountain, walking trails and stores. Clean and large home. We look forward to our next stay here. Thank you!

Fridge didn't work. Door didn't lock.

The owners really need to update all of the necessary and advertised/listed amenities. Cleanliness- looked good on surface at first glance but had to request new shower curtain liner since it had black mold stains and pink slime. Also walking barefoot created black feet even on first night. Staff- person answering phone was very friendly. Handyman was helpful in bringing some items - new shower curtain liner, a stopper for bathtub, but unable to repair the refrigerator to cool below 47 degrees which caused us to have to throw out hundreds of dollars of food and order or eat out to avoid the lines at the grocery store. The owners would not do anything about the refrigerator because it had recently been replaced was NOT acceptable. Nor was a warranty person wouldn’t come out for the refrigerator as long as renters were in the home. I don’t care if the refrigerator is 2 days or 50 years old, it needs to work. Health code is 4 hours in the 41 - 135F zone for bacterial growth. That doesn’t even address the taste of drinks or cereal, salads… at warmer temperatures. Greens wilt and more. We had gone shopping for the week upon arrival as we did not want to have to spend our time going to the grocery store (and the one in walking distance always had long lines) often. We rented a home rather than a hotel so we could make our own meals and save money but ended up spending more on food than we would have in a hotel because of the refrigerator. Maintenance did bring one mini fridge but that was not sufficient for 7 people, when we requested a 2nd during the initial request, we were told “I asked about another but they all seem to be being used right now except for this one we have”. One of the top bunks was not safe to use due to one of the rungs spinning freely. The master bed was SO uncomfortable that we slept on the living room couches for the entirety of our stay. The sliding door was difficult to open and close and did not lock.

Nice home but need a little maintenance

The location is great, close to restaurants within walking distance. The wood burner/heater doesn't work. The bathrooms have no functioning vent and the windows are sealed so causes people to be uncomfortable if someone uses bathrooms.

Booked property through Vacasa. 2 days before the day of checkin I got a call telling me that due to COVID, Mono county requires 24 hours between reservations for cleaning. Now this is not something new and this has been in effect since the "stay at home" order, yet on the site I was able to book the available dates. My options were to push my checkin day to the following day or cancel completely. Vacasa didn't have any open properties for that week as it was a very busy week with Mammoth surge pricing! So they expected me to find something for one night during a very busy week or I could cancel my entire trip 2 days before I'm suppose to arrive. Lesson learned- Never gonna use Vacasa again!! Condo was as described but seemed really dark and needed more lights. Also found a bunch of hair in one of the bed sheets (so much for the 24 hour thorough cleaning). When we arrived there was large trash bag outside the door with what I assume was the dirty sheets from the prior guests. This stayed there until we checked out. Also there was only one box of laundry detergent that was good for one small load. Kitchen was not fully equipped. 4 really small sauce pans and 1 large 5 gallon pot. Nothing in between to boil up some pasta!

Snow trip

Snow trip with our children was very enjoyable at this townhome. House was clean and comfortable. Loved that each room had individual heating. Only downside were the bunk beds, which were very unstable and wobbly. My kids were really looking forward to sleeping on them but couldn’t because of how unstable they were. Overall would stay here again, but would suggest to please fix the bunks.
