Houng Chanh in the Lao language is a poetic image suggesting a landscape gradually bathed by the halo of the full moon. An impression of renewal as after an eclipse. That's the story of this house.
The maison Houng Chanh, is an old building of traditional colonial Lao architecture, classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and entirely restored with taste by its owners, Noy and Patrick Julien. This project was part of a broader urban planning project, also financed by them, concerning the rehabilitation of the alleyway that serves it or passed Phou Nheu and Nha Nheu, tutelary geniuses of the city of Luang Prabang, during the Lao New Year "Pi Mai".
It is located in the "village" of Ban Meuna, 10 minutes walk from the centre of Luang Prabang.
A HOUSE LISTED AS A UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE SITE. Under the aegis of the "Maison du patrimoine" and UNESCO. The renovation techniques and materials used have made it possible to preserve the authenticity of Luang Prabang's architectural heritage.
