Amazing inside and out

Beautiful view

Great location with beautiful beach view. We really enjoyed the golf cart (nicknamed “Barney”). It was very handy to go over to Baytowne wharf. The condo is certainly a bit dated and knees, a little sprucing up, but it was very comfortable for our family.

We were there to celebrate a birthday, and have a marriage ceremony. It was all great and beautiful.

Everything was excellent and beautiful. Only thing I would consider changing is the mattress in the master suite. Could feel the box springs.

They are not lying about the view. It's fantastic. The condo is in an awesome location and the service was great. The only thing I would say is that it could use an update. There are several outlets that don't work. It just needs general maintenance. I would stay there again based solely on location and view.

4096 beachside I tower

Awful experience Property not AS ADVERTISED!!! Mold and water damage in several rooms, appliances not in working condition, stained couches( looked like blood), torn carpets, exposed wall with no sheetrock, clogged sinks, and most importantly careless property managers with no sense of courtesy urgency or concern for guests.

This review is an absolute fabrication. You called the day after checking in to report a small leak from the ceiling. We immediately sent maintenance to assess & thought it was a fire suppressant system leak. The building maintenance then arrived to inspect & cut a 12x12 inch hole in the ceiling to remove the small portion of wet drywall & find the leak, which was determined to be a pin sized hole in the air duct. An access panel was then installed in the hole cut into the drywall, so there was no "open exposed wall with no drywall" for longer than the hour that the maintenance team was there. This was the only water damage in the entire unit, a 1 sq ft portion of the ceiling where the air duct was leaking & the issue was immediately addressed. There is also no mold or mildew in the entire unit nor in the ceiling portion that had the leak. You then claimed the dishwasher wasn't working. We sent maintenance again & no issue was found. You then said the master toilet wasn't working & again maintenance found no issue. You told him the guest toilet wasn't working but again, no issue was found. You stated the garbage disposal wasn't working. When he checked that, he found you had it completely stopped up with food waste, which he unclogged & left it working correctly. This unit has no carpeting, it's all tile flooring, so I'm not sure what carpet you're saying was torn. The couches are also not covered in stains & are routinely professionally cleaned . The ONLY small stain on one of the couch cushions is a spot in which a previous guest got suntan oil on it, which has been both machine washed (as the covers are removable) & professionally cleaned & it will not come out. It is not, however, dirty & is easily recognizable as an oil spot, not a blood spot as you claim. I'm not sure how you say that our property management team has no sense of urgency or courtesy, as we responded every time you claimed to have an issue. After all of this occurred, we attempted to reach you several times to make sure everything was fixed & see how you were doing, but you repeatedly ignored our calls. Now you've submitted a chargeback on your card, claiming these falsities to get a free stay. We will be presenting all of this information along with photo documentation & fighting the chargeback, as it's a felony to defraud an inn keeper in Florida, which is exactly what you did by lying about issues, staying for the duration of your stay, and then wanting a full refund after you left.

The views from this unit are amazing.

The unit is very nice. It is definitely in need of some electrical updates. There were several outlets that did not function. This required that the ladies do their hair in front of the large mirror wall in the living room. A full length mirror, or any mirror, in the master would be very helpful. I left a valuable ring behind but the cleaning company could not find it. It was on the bedside table. That was heartbreaking.

I will have maintenance take a look at the outlet issue, but a lot of times in the Beachside I and II buildings, some of the outlets in each room are tied to a light switch to easily turn on/off lamps, so if the switch isn't flipped on, the outlet will not work. We will bring the mirror suggestion with the owners. We will continue to keep a lookout for your ring.

Outdated and Not Safe

I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We love the Destin area and condos on the beach, but this condo was very disappointing to us, especially with safety concerns. The door to our condo was not safely secured. The deadbolt was not working because the wood was old/worn and would not properly lock and the deadbolt/latch was missing. We had to call maintenance to fix this issue and was unable to leave the condo (on our first day) with our belongings with this safety concern. The maintenance did his best "to make it work" throughout our stay. The condo is very outdated especially in the bathrooms. There is NO privacy in the master bathroom and there is NO dresser in the master bedroom. They only offered some hangers for your clothes and a 3 drawer plastic container for clothes. The kitchen is the only updated area in the condo. The dining/living area was missing curtains (to block from neighboring condo and turtle nesting season.) Most of the window coverings were thin bamboo curtains, which didn't block sunlight. We will be back to Destin, but not at Beachside 1 residence in Sandestin.

Not as nice as advertized

I stayed in this condo with my two small children and another family with two small children. We had a nice time on vacation, but the accomodations were not as nice as I expected. Especially for the price. Location was good, convenient and amazing views. Our reservation was in early may 2010, after the oil spill, but beaches were still beautiful. The airconditioning was malfunctioning and wasn't fixed as quickly as I would have liked. With no compensation for the inconvenience. Many things in the condo just didn't work i.e. lights, blinds, refridgerator shelf kept falling when you put anything on it. Condo was not child friendly, too many throw pillows, slippery floors, dangerous corners on dining room table. The pool was nice, but no childrens pool. We cleaned the condo and removed our food from fridge, threw all the trash away, just as i would have in other condo's I have rented. But we were charged an additional 150 out of our deposit, because they said it was left too dirty.

We are very proud to say that all of our guests are great tenants and seldom have we ever had to keep any portion of a guest deposit for cleaning. However, when this guest left it took a crew of 4 over 3 hours to get this unit ready for another guest to arrive. She may have taken out some garbage, but they reported more than 8 bags of garbage had to be removed including food, dirty diapers and trash. We are very careful not to take advantage of our guests by keeping any of their deposit unnecessarily, but this was more than necessary. We did however, only cover the bill sent to us for all the extra cleaning by the cleaning company. We did returned the remaining portion of the deposit. If anyone would like to know further details concerning this reservation, we invite you to give us a call.

Reviewer Comments: feel it is necessary to bring to your attention our extreme disappointment in the cleanliness in upkeep of the condo we rented for an extended family vacation. There are several outlets that do not work, there are patched walls that were not painted, the bathroom is filthy along with all of the floors in the condo. There are parts that look like they could have been repaired from water damage but not completely repaired along with furniture that have stains and blinds that when you try to shut them your hand is full of filth and grease. The one thing that was the most upsetting and disgusting was the washing machine is full of mold and mildew, to the point that I have had to try and scrub it clean. I honestly am not sure if I am even going to be able to use it which we had counted on. We would greatly appreciate a response to this email and with the additional work that we have had to do to make the condo comfortable we certainly feel there should be some sort of financial restitution. Great but crowded location; nice condo but a little worn

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was more than happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Overall it's a nice place in a good location. The condo is as it appears in the photographs. The furnishings are very nice and well maintained - I especially appreciated the comfortable chairs on the balconies. The building is in the middle of SanDestin and surrounded by other large buildings. It may not bother most people but I found the large crowds of people who were there during our visit to be a little bothersome. Every morning the guys renting beach chairs & umbrellas (at an insane rental rate) set up long row after row of chairs making the hoards of people who drifted down there elbow-to-elbow. Not very relaxing for me. In the evenings the gate-secured parking lot was full and some cars parked on the grass and medians. During a less-busy time none of this would be an issue.The condo was stocked exactly as described. There were lots of nice, thick towels, though the bedsheets were 'economy'. Everyone in our party reported their beds were hard... I supposed that is a matter of personal preference.There are a handful of aesthetic flaws that you may notice: chipped paint, CATV wires run along the walls rather than fished inside the walls, missing outlet cover, etc. Nothing functional, but things that could have been fixed with a little expense and effort. Regarding the construction of the building: 1) sound transmits unimpeded from floor to floor. 2) There is a maddening shortage of electrical outlets necessitating the running of extension cords. I'd recommend that the owners put some power strips in the place... this was pretty frustrating.Overall it's a nice place. I would rent this unit again if it were in a less-crowded location.

Dear Keith, We are very pleased that your overall experience is a good one. This has truly been one of our guest favorite locations at the resort. We will take you up on your suggestion of a few more power cords. This condo complex is an older one at the resort thus it is very spacious compared to other condo locations however; when being built they did not anticipate the technology boom where many need more outlets to charge computers, phones, lap tops, etc. We will look into adding a few more outlets so that everyone can charge up! Please keep in mind that the next time you plan a vacation with Platinum Services you will receive a 10% discount. This applies to any of the properties Platinum Services manages at the resort.
