We decided to head to the New Forest for a few days. Cannot fault the accommodation.
The pictures represent it well and even more impressive when you are there.
The setting is beautiful and great location for days out.
Highly recommend a stay there to anyone.
We found Riverside Lodge delightful, inside and out. Very peaceful and a pretty setting, with constant birdsong, visiting ducks, scampering squirrels, wandering deer and an evening flyby from a kingfisher. We went out less than we normally would because it was a treat to be lazy there, especially as we’d splashed out on the hot tub. Beds were very comfortable and full marks for having curtains rather than the blinds 90% of holiday lets have, which do nothing to block out light for people who need a dark bedroom to sleep in. Highly recommended, would go again.
Riverside lodge is a well furnished and well equipped property set in a stunning location. There is a small lake alongside and you have a lovely view of the river and beyond from the rear. The bi-fold doors bring a modern twist and are an excellent idea to allow you to bring the outside in. VERY comfortable sofa and beds, hamper of goodies on arrival and thought the fresh milk left in the fridge was a nice touch. (its the little things sometimes 🙂) Local wildlife will visit daily to say hello, a Kingfisher was a particular treat to see each morning. Plenty of walks and exploration of the New Forest available nearby, Fordingbridge has plenty of shops and pubs etc to venture out to. We had a lovely week, enjoyed some fantastic weather which granted us a wonderful sunset to view every night from the back of the lodge. Would definitely recommend this property and I will be returning for sure.
The fishing cabin was warm and cosy and comfortable. We enjoyed all the wildlife on our doorstep. It was a great place to get up on to the Forest and walk. We had a great week.
We had a lovely week here. The property is superb and we enjoyed the lovely views and the peace and tranquility. Absolutely no complaints at all!

A fantastic well equipped lodge in a lovely rural location
A great location near Fordingbridge, the lodge is really lovely, well equipped and comfortable. Absolutely first class. One thing to point out is the steep slope from the car park to the lodge.

Everything you need for relaxation
The lodge and it’s location exceeded expectations, when we arrived we immediately feel relaxed walking down the short pathway to the illuminated lodge. The lodge is very homely and has everything you need and more, the basket of goodies is a nice touch and there was even a fresh carton of milk waiting for us. We would be very happy living there with nothing but views of woodland, the pond and river. The lodge is very clean and well worth booking. Thank you

A wonderful retreat offering seclusion and tranquility beyond measure
We stayed for along weekend in this beautiful lodge and it was everything we hoped it would be - a perfect place to escape the world for a few days.
The location is perfect right by the riverside and the gardens and pond just enhanced the peaceful nature of the place. The evenings were spent on the decking enjoying wine while watching the world go by. Flying Swans, Geese, sheep and cows along with some very friendly ducks just made the place feel even more at one with nature.
As far as the lodge goes, all of the little details had been perfectly thought out with all that you need basically provided, (except food and drink!) with a little welcome hamper when you walk through the door full of essentials, (Thank you!!)
Safe to say we will be coming back both to this wonderful place.
Thank you.

Stunning!
My partner and I were fortunate to be the first people to stay at The Fisherman’s Lodge, and it exceeded our expectations! I will start with Debra and Tony, they were very helpful, instructions were clear and they always responded promptly, even warning us of a road closure on the morning of our arrival.
This really is a secluded get away, and I will start with the exterior and grounds. The land around the lodge has been carefully landscaped, the paths all have lighting and it is very picturesque, there are fish in the lake / pond to the front and we even had some returning ducks to feed, the river and land at the back is also stunning and would be great for fishing. You can tell that the owners have thought of everything, great attention to detail, and the lodge must have been a real labour of love to build.
Internally it has everything you could wish for, it is finished to a very high standard, lovely comfortable sofa and double bed, (we didn't use the second bedroom), under-floor heating, all the kitchen facilities and utensils you could possibly need. It was so lovely that we didn't really want to go out, a perfect place to chill out and look at the beautiful land and countryside from every window, and the bi-folding doors and veranda / decking were fantastic, especially when the sun was out.
We stayed 3 nights and we honestly didn't want to leave, I could go on, and on, with the praise.
Fordingbridge has some friendly pubs which offer good food, especially The Ship, and has a few lovely shops and a huge Co-op for all your groceries. You do need a car, but the lodge is a perfect base to explore New Forest and the surrounding areas, and we also used the Arniss riding stables for a one hour trek which was fun.
