About this property
Secluded, New Forest Riverside Lodge
Riverside Lodge is 2 bedroomed 2 bathroom lodge clad in cedar and set in a spectacular location on the bank of the River Avon in Hampshire. With far reaching views across open countryside, Riverside Lodge is the perfect retreat to unwind.
For those wanting a relaxing break, away from the hustle and bustle of city life, Riverside Lodge is the perfect romantic retreat, within the New Forest National Park, ideal for one couple or adults holidaying together.. The Lodge is in a prime location for fishing, bird watching and simply watching the world go by. There is a luxury 5 Seater permanent hot tub available for £325 for a short breaks or £400 for 7 nights
The accommodation comprises of two bedrooms, one twin and one superking which can be split into 2 singles on request, two bathrooms and a large open plan living area with underfloor heating and with the addition of a wood burner, creating a cosy atmosphere, perfect for those chilly winter evenings. The master bedroom has patio doors that lead out onto the verandah.
Situated on one of the most beautiful and best coarse fishing rivers in the UK the Lodge literally sits on a small lake in an elevated position within yards of the river. The bi-folding doors that open out onto the verandah from the living space, that juts out over the small lake, allow you to enjoy the surroundings from the comfort of the lodge. The pretty illuminated waterfall can be activated from the verandah. A glamping Pod that sleeps 2 is available to rent with the Lodge at 25% of the rental cost of the Lodge.
Free fishing is available in the small lake off the verandah and fishing on one swim on the river bank. A further additional 4 swims of river fishing are available at an additional cost of £75 per person subject to availability, prior to booking. A paddock and stables are available if you would like to bring your horses on a DIY basis at a cost of £100 per horse. The Lodge can be booked with Criddlestyle Cottage (sleeps 10) and Mews Hill (sleeps 11) to sleep 24 and with the addition of Jessica, our vintage vw campervan (only available in the warmer months) this can increase by 2 adults and 2 children to 28.
Encircled by water and woodland within the New Forest National Park, the Lodge is either a short drive from charming pubs, restaurants, and parks or a 15-minute walk to all the facilities at Sandy Balls, with its restaurants, pubs, shops, bike hire and leisure centre. It's within an hour's drive of Stonehenge, Salisbury Cathedral, Winchester, the Isle of Wight, Poole Harbour, Bournemouth beaches including Sandbanks, Beaulieu, Paultons Park and numerous golf courses. You are approximately 1 mile from the local town of Fordingbridge with pubs, restaurants, shops, and parks. Public transport and taxi firms are nearby.
This property is not suitable for Children under 11 years of age or parents can bring children from 8 years of age at their own discretion due to the lake and very fast flowing river which runs close to the lodge. People with walking difficulties due to the steep slope leading down to the Lodge. We provide a trolly to transport your belongings.
