First the house is not “2 steps from harbor” as advertised. It is quite a walk and apparently has no address, so deliveries were not possible. It is a very worn house. The sheets and the mattress pad on my bed did not fit the bed, so I found myself sleeping on a bare mattress. The next day, I did find the mattress pad crumbled at the bottom of the bed, but since it did not fit the mattress it would not stay on. There was no fitted sheet and the flat sheet was too small to be tucked in.
There is really no place to gather on the ground floor except for the kitchen. The kitchen table was covered by a not so clean table cloth. Apparently there was a deck on the second floor (3rd to Americans), but no good way to get there. Steep stairs and instead of a strong railing there were doorknobs to hold on to. I never got to see it.
Fortunately for us, I had also rented the house next door ( the Courtyard House) which was perfect and we were able to gather there.
Host was not responsive, but I eventually got an email from his wife saying her husband is “not a phone man” and I should have emailed, but I didn’t have his email address. He had given me his phone number.
Please note that on his listing he doesn’t include toilet paper as an amenity and we couldn’t find any.
The house owner manages his own house and isn’t very good at it. All in all a very disappointing stay. Everyone except me and 2 other guests moved out within a couple of days. We had paid for 9 days.
