Charming Rose Lake beach house

One of the few remaining vintage cottages on Rose Lake. Featuring fantastic views and a sandy beach. This updated (but still old-school) airy cottage is a great escape for rest and relaxation, or activity and adventure.

There are two bedrooms, one with a queen bed, the other with a full. The sofa in the living room converts to a full, and the loveseat on the porch has a pull-out twin.

Whether it’s using the available kayaks, fishing, swimming, or just looking to get away, this cottage is a perfect destination. With one of the best views and sandy a shoreline, you’re sure to enjoy.

Biking and hiking trails are close by for exploring and evenings spent around the campfire provide lasting memories.

Rose Lake is a 370 acre all-sports lake located in Osceola County. Travel times from Grand Rapids area are less than 1.5 hours, and Detroit area less than 3 hours. Conveniently located for day trips along Lake Michigan’s shoreline, sand dunes, Traverse City, Frankfort, and many other popular destinations.

I’ve added some driveway entrance sequence photo to the album, as finding the cottage can be tricky. Just look for the road marker and then make a left (U-turn) into the next driveway. Parking is at the back of the cottage at the top of the short stairway. There’s room for 2 vehicles on the grass parking area.

We had an enjoyable getaway inside this very cozy cabin with spectacular lake views. The cabin was small but clean with lots of updates. Unfortunately we were unable to enjoy the beautiful outdoor areas due to the palpable pot smell from the Mustang Ranch cannabis farm in the area.

The beach, canoe, kayaks, fire wood was so great to have. The extra essentials in side the place was also great paper towels, napkins, salt pepper and all the linens. Would stay again.

The Perfect Lake Cottage

My bestie and I loved our stay at Craig's cabin. The views of the lake are ever present. This small cabin is laid out well for perfect comfort. I loved soaking in the October sun in the kayak. Caught a fish off the dock and made s'mores by the fire. It was Perfect!

Amazing relaxing short stay in Rose Lake.

The cottage is really nice and the location is great. Loved being able to Kayak right in the back and the dock was also nice. The cottage had everything one needs. The porch sunroom was very nice and the wifi was not bad. There is a grocery store about 10 mins away driving. The lake was beautiful and so is the cottage and location. The hosts were great in reponsing to my questions. Highly recommend.

Short weekend getaway

We loved our stay for the weekend! The house is cozy and perfect for what we wanted. It rained most of one day but there were games and we still had a great time. My kids loved fishing off the dock and roasting marshmallows. The water was sandy although my kids were more into fishing. We’re hoping to go back one day!

Beautiful Property

We made a great choice in selecting this property for our weekend getaway. The cabin was perfect for the four of us and we had plenty of room to move around. Nothing beats having a cup of coffee on the deck with a beautiful view of the lake. The provided kayaks and canoe added an extra measure of fun for all of us. The campfires on the waters edge made winding down in the evening very pleasurable. We had a great time, thanks Craig!

Wonderful little lake house

Our family of 4 had a fantastic and memorable time in this little lakeside cabin in a tucked-away, quiet spot. Thank you to our hosts for the 2 available kayaks and canoe so that we could fully enjoy the lake. The fishing right off the dock was great for our young kids, as were the two child life vests. There was a charcoal grill on the deck and a kitchen with a good stock of utensils, plates and pans. Big picnic table outside, and firepit with firewood and seating were all enjoyed. Thank you again to our hosts- we hope to be back again!

We had an amazing long weekend on Rose Lake. The cottage is so cute, and was just right for our family. Highly recommend staying here. Lots of family fun with swimming, kayaking, fishing, playing games, grilling out, and s’mores around the fire pit. Perfection.

Great get-away

We had a lovely get-away from the hustle and bustle of city-life at this cottage on Rose Lake. The owners were friendly and accommodating and it was a great spot to relax, swim, star gaze, and have camp-fires. Thanks for everythign!

Great location awesome view of the lake. Loved kayaking with the kayaks that were available for use just needed our own life jackets. The house can be a little tricky to find since there are no house numbers but over all will definitely rent again.

Between me and my brother, who co-owns the property, we have literally grown up on this lake. Starting in 1979 our family bought a neighboring cottage on the lake. We have been spending our summers up here ever since. It truly is one of the best lakes around.

Why they chose this property

Being that this was one of the first few places on this lake, they had the choice back then of picking the best view and beach combination. It's sandy shore does not get too deep too fast, and the views are great but still sheltered. It's just a great spot on a beautiful lake.
