The apartment was clean and pleasant enough, but lighting was poor despite numerous floor lamps. It is an old house made into apartments so understandably it has some quirks, but it is could use some basic updates like new outlets (they are old and loose so it was difficult to keep my charger connected), and a working bathroom ceiling light and fan. When you walk in the front door there is bed in what otherwise appears to be the living room. I'm not sure why it is there instead of in the room behind it, which is set up like an office and is the same basic size as the other bedroom area. It was a good location for our needs.

The place appeared unkept on the outside. There were cigarette buts on the walkway and the tiles were broken. I thought it was strange for a bed to be in the living room and the second bedroom had a table and chairs in it. The bathroom lights were bare light bulbs. It’s an old house and needs some fixing up. It was adequate for our needs.

A fine place to stay

This place is a convenient location to the college. It’s an older home and is clean. It works just fine for my needs- a place to sleep and easy to get in and out.

I’ll be back

In a town without many lodging options this worked out great. Manager was great to deal with and totally accessible. The woman who cleans the place does a great job too. I will stay again on my next visit.

Older but quaint

This is an okay place if your expectations are not set too high. It’s an old place with antique decor, a bit musty smell when you first arrive. But for the price I thought it was fine and easily accessible to the college.

The good: The property was in a nice location close to the college and downtown restaurants. The bad: It was dirty, moldy, and smelled like urine. The walls were thin so even quieter conversations could be heard between units. There were no options to control the thermostat and the heat was on too high.

Michigan

We went to Michigan for my nieces nursing graduation and stayed at this little apartment. Very clean and accommodating. Would’ve had furniture placement different and made a bedroom out of the room next to the bathroom and the living room separate from my bedroom. But overall cute little place to rent, and I would rent it again if needed.

I am sorry you had this experience. It is a pre civil war era 1800s house, and as such it is not new and is indeed old. The apartments inside are clean, cute and cozy though. We are always working on updates while still keeping the charm of an old house for those who like old historic homes.

Just what I needed

I needed a comfortable place to stay for a few nights. My days were packed so it was really just a place to lay my head. I was pleasantly surprised with the accommodations. The unit had a completely functional kitchen and it was very clean. It’s an old building renovated into separate apartments, buts it’s very functional. Floors were uneven in places but that’s expected in such an old building. Bathroom was clean and there was great water pressure in the shower. I will stay here again.

Weekend Wedding

We came to Hillsdale from NC for a family wedding being held at a nearby venue. The size of the listing was bigger than I really expected, which was great! It is an older building in which I have appreciation for but at first it may seem a little off. It really is quaint and we totally enjoyed our peaceful stay. We had one issue which was the check-in information was not sent the night before or even the day of until I reached out to the owner who did respond within 30 minutes and got us the information. She did explain she had had an unforeseen emergency event that she was dealing with that caused her delay. Unit was clean and was a nice touch to have a few snacks and water upon arrival. If ever in the area again I will definitely book again!

Amazing

This place was so nice! It’s definitely bigger than the pictures make it out to look. The kitchen was perfect for my boyfriend and I cooking together and sitting at the table was really nice. Great location, walking distance from all things in town
