BOUGAINVILLIERS Very Private and Charming Villa With Sea View Close to the Beach

Villa Bougainvilliers is a beautiful and charming 2 bedrooms, 2 baths home with a pool, overlooking the peaceful Marigot Bay.
This private home is nestled in a ½ acre green garden full of trees and tropical flowers.

You will enjoy the privacy and the amazing view: nothing else than the garden between you and the ocean, no views on your living space including the pool area.

You will enjoy the quiet sandy beach located right across the small road at the end of the property, as a good spot for snorkeling among the sea turtles, lobsters and many other tropical fish species living in the natural reserve.
Villa Bougainvilliers is just minutes away from shopping, dining and many more beautiful beaches.

The two spacious bedrooms are on either side of the living room for more privacy.
Both have French doors leading to the stones tiled terraces separated by the pool.
Both are equipped with French Queen size beds (180cm x 200cm), sheets provided.
Each bedroom has its own private bathroom (towels provided) and its own air conditioning system (splits system which is very silent).

The bedrooms and the living room have beautiful vaulted high ceilings and the villa is very airy.
The dinning area is on the covered terrace, next to the pool, facing the ocean and garden view.

The kitchen has everything you need and is separated from the living room by a breakfast tiled bar.

Villa Bougainvilliers is fully equipped; all you need to bring for a marvellous vacation is your bathing suit and favorite music.

This is our second year at the Villa and it did not disappoint. A great location that makes traveling around the island an ease. The Villa is always clean and comfortable and we appreciated Michelle’s daily housekeeping. Francois is excellent at responding to any questions. Another great year!

We loved the place. Very clean. Pool was enjoyable a little cool but good for a refreshing dip just could not stay in too long. The view is wonderful, the beach is a little lacking for a beach. The place is a little dated could use some TLC in some areas. Overall very nice and we would stay here again.

Nice, comfortable, cozy with a great host

For small groups , like family of 4 or two couples, this is a great place. Nice view, close to a number of beaches and great restaurants and at nights it has its own sense. I would recommend it highly.

Relaxing stay

We truly enjoyed our stay. Although the pool was too cold to swim, there was a nice beach just across from the bottom of the driveway. We found it very relaxing to sit outside and enjoy the view. Francois was wonderful and quickly replied to any questions we had. I would recommend this property.

Enjoyable two weeks

Nice villa overlooking Marigot Bay. Beach is literally across the street at the base of the steep driveway. Short walk up the hill to Grand Cul de Sac with fine dining or beach cafes. Road work at the base of the hill was not an issue, in fact made it quieter. Turtle colony and cats kept us company. Very nice pool!

Quiet across from the beach

The villa was perfect for our family. A tortoise family was on the property and we were greeted every day by them in the garden, my boys loved it. Nice pool and right across from the beach

Beautiful villa with a fantastic view & privacy!

This was our 2nd time renting a private home using VRBO. This villa is located in a private & quiet neighborhood perfect for a romantic getaway. The major attractions are just a short drive away. Francois & Christine were very responsive, provided daily service, and we were met at the airport & shown directly to the property. We enjoyed the comfortable beds, great pool, & the spacious rooms. We enjoyed the Red-footed tortoises too!

Beautiful Island

This was our first trip to St Barths and we loved it! The Villa is in a central location so we never drove more than 20 minutes to get anywhere. We appreciated the privacy of the property and went across the street at some point every day to swim and sit on the beach. Francois was a wonderful host who responded promptly to all our questions or concerns. Christine (housekeeper) doesn’t speak a lot of English and we don’t speak a lot of French but she was patient and kind and we were able to make it work! We will be back!

Wonderful stay, perfect location, and caring owner and maid Christine

We had a wonderful 2 week stay. As a family with two small kids… the privacy was so nice. We stayed at the Pearl Hotel for a week after and wished we were back at the villa instead. At the end of the driveway is the main road that goes around St. Barth’s and you cross the street and you are right at the beach. Great beach, locals not crowded, marine protected so no boats, has a natural bit of shade if you want it.great little market a 2 min drive. The pool was great for 5 year old that’s a super swimmer and our baby that isn’t walking or crawling yet. I don’t want to give more good details away for fear that when I want to rebook it… it’s always booked up. :)

Splendid stay in St Barth

We had a wonderful experience staying in the Villa Bouganvilliers. The view was nice and we had privacy enjoying the pool in a peaceful enviroment. The beds were comfortable and the air conditioning kept us cool at night. The kitchen was well stocked and Christine came daily except for Sunday to keep things clean and offer assistance if needed for reservations…She made us feel welcome even though we did not speak french. A group of little turtles visited regularly. There were restaurants nearby with wonderful views, service and food. A great experience.

Lovely villa but dated

Charming villa. Great manager. House is an older villa that has not been updated. The fan in the master is broken, no place to plug in hairdryer in bathrooms. Overall a sweet villa, Marigot beach at end of driveway, very private and lovely view.

11/10 stars - a perfect stay

Staying at Francois vacation home was 11/10 excellent. I spent a lot of time looking at rental options and couldn’t have been more happy with my choice. The house is a quiet getaway in the hills, with an amazing view of the ocean cove. And a great pool. It’s also spacious with two large beds, two full bathrooms, and a large living room with plenty of seating. The house is located about 15 minutes from Eden’s rock area which is home to lively beach restaurants like Nikki beach club, and about 17 minutes from the main shopping area Gustavia. What was particularly lovely, was after a long busy day in town shopping, eating out, and exploring beaches I got to come home to a relaxing quiet retreat and just relax. Getting to the house from the airport is seamless as Christine (who manages the house) meets you at the airport so you can follow her to the home. Christine, is amazing, she is available each day for any questions or travel tips you may have. An excellent stay and I hope to stay at the house again at some point.

Great view, but outdated and in need of TLC

We gave this property 3 stars. The view is fantastic, and we appreciated the host being reachable—even though off-island—and Christine’s (on-island manager) prompt response to the issues we encountered.That said, the property felt very dated (think 1980s/1990s) with several maintenance problems. The house phone and ceiling fan weren’t working, and the master bedroom’s bathroom had an unpleasant odor of urine until Christine managed to address it with a thorough bleach clean the next day. Still, we never returned to using that bathroom as it never felt "clean".No a/c in common spaces where one spends most of their time so prepping for the evening was often met with sweating it out in the hot room.Front door has broken glass panes so mosquitos were a constant nuisance. There were also cobwebs on the ceiling rafters (place needs a good dusting) and the pool area was less than ideal, remaining in shade most of the day. The pool furniture was moldy and didn’t seem sturdy enough to safely support weight. Additionally, while we understood there was no dryer, it would have been helpful if that detail was mentioned in the amenities as other guests may overlook this detail. Just seemed some things were omitted in description that most would appreciate learning about beforehand.Overall, we love St. Barts, but this was one of our less comfortable stays on the island. With some updates and a bit more attention to detail in the listing, this property could be a great find.

Beautiful property with an amazing view

We really enjoyed our two week stay at villa Bougainvilliers. The first week we hosted two friends and the second we spent alone. The pool was clean and very refreshing. AC and WiFi worked well. Very private. We had some issues with Hertz Car Rental and the host and her manager helped us solve it. Over all a great stay.

Why they chose this property

As far as I can remember I dreamed of a deserted island. In 1987, I purchased a piece of land on St Bart without even visiting it. The first time I landed there, I fell in love at first sight with this beautiful and very unique island so I decided to build this villa.
A few years later my family and I moved to St Bart for 6 wonderful years. My kids were young and they now have great and marvelous memories of their childhood there.
30 years later I still love the place. In fact, St bart is the only place I really feel home. According to family's members and friends this island is this kind of rare place in the world where you get a special feeling of peace and safety.
Something I never get tired of is having breakfast on the terrace facing this incredible view.
I hope you will also discover all the wonders of this amazing island.

What makes this property unique

Villa Bougainvilliers is very private, nestled at the top of its garden, surrounded by trees and flowers.
From the door entrance and parking lot a private drive way will lead you down to a small road that you just need to cross in order to enjoy the peaceful Marigot Bay Beach.
The villa is very airy and lightful. You can see the ocean from every where you are: the kitchen, the living room and the 2 bedrooms.
It is well furnished and maintained. We make improvements every year because this is a place we love.
I would say that the main qualities of villa Bougainvilliers are privacy, peace, view (you don't see any other house from it), building quality, comfort and of course its private pool.
