About Robin brumwell
Robin and Sue Brumwell are a retired english couple living the dream amid the peace and beauty of this unsploilt area of rural France We are into books, music, movies and the performing arts--as well as pets, country walks, gourmet cuisine, good wine, gardening and socializing generally. We regard ourselves as outgoing and socially minded --and are happy to interact with guests with advise on the area and help in any matter of local knowledge --normally over a relaxed glass of wine. We are happy to introduce visitors to the vinyards and Armagnac producers which abound in this wonderful area. We do however, take a balanced approach --between being helpful and sociable without being intrusive-- and respecting guests' desire for privacy and space--as they wish.
Robin brumwell purchased this farmhouse in 2004
Why Robin brumwell chose Moncrabeau
We stumbled across this delightful area of France quite by chance and immediately fell in love with it. The green rolling hills, and lack of commercial development reminded us very much of our beloved Cotswolds where we both lived when we were growing up as kids. The difference now is that this area has remained unspoiled-- while the old stone villages of Gloucestershire have become more gentrified, and have lost their persona of unselfconscious beauty typical of the Cotswold working commiunities of 50-60 years ago. So this takes us back our free and joyful childhood.--which is a perfect state of mind for a contented retirement. We were able to buy this old farmhouse and renovate to our tastes without altering its natural antique charm. It is ideal for visitors who arrive as holiday makers and often leave as friends.
What makes this farmhouse unique
The benefits here are not unique --although it is becoming harder and harder to find genuine unspoiled parts of the world which possess the advantages of modern civilization--but retain virtually all of their natural beauty and friendly sense of community. At Camuzat you feel in the heart of the country --but are only a few minutes from 3 medieval market towns with cobbled streets, ancient buildings, squares and cloisters--but offering all services. Furthermore, the annual Summer fetes and festivals are all authentic rural affairs with multigeneration attendance from the surrounding villages, --with dancing, open air dining, market stalls, music, and a warm sense of country charm and enjoyment.
