Aspen Hollow PMA - Stunning, Secluded Riverfront Home with Hot Tub

Stargaze from the giant redwood deck or unwind in the hot tub. Private Membership has its priviliges! Peace and tranquility upon your arrival. A quiet and peaceful neighborhood.

Hike, snowshoe or cross country ski directly from the cabin to a spectacular meadow with stunning mountain views.

So secluded and quiet, yet only 10 minutes from town, 15 minutes to Sierra at Tahoe, 20 minutes to Heavenly and 25 minutes to Kirkwood. This private membership cabin is perfect for a family or group getaway. This mountain retreat features a gourmet's kitchen and furnishings designed for social gatherings.

In the summer, grab your fishing pole and swim trunks and walk on down to the boulder-lined fishing hole right on the Upper Truckee River.

Take a short hike along the river and discover beaver dams and a breathtaking meadow with mountain views. Bike to Mr. Toads or Hope Valley straight from the driveway of this wonderful retreat.

Four spacious bedrooms to accommodate any guest configuration:

1) Tahoe Timber Room downstairs has one King Log Bed.

2) Snowflake Room downstairs has one Queen Bed.

3) Kids Adventure Room upstairs has two Double Beds, a foosball table, kids games and comfy reading and cuddling furniture.

4) Riverview Balcony Room upstairs has one King Bed, electric fireplace, convertible sofa.

Large deck at front of cabin (26' x 20') is enclosed with gate access to outdoors to keep pets and little ones contained.

Property is relatively flat with only one step up from the driveway to front entry. This provides easy access for those with limited mobility - both downstairs bedrooms and all amenities can be accessed from ground level.

Cabin is located near the end of a quiet dead end street that is relatively flat and ideal for walks and easy bike rides.

We are a Private Membership Association named Silver Select Properties. Aspen Hollow PMA is one of our membership properties. There is a $100 membership fee per booking. We are exempt from and do not charge occupancy tax. (The current occupancy tax rate in 2023 is 12%) Our membership structure saves you several hundreds of dollars per booking. Members must abide by all rules in membership agreement.

The property is beautiful, clean and spacious. It had all of the dishes & utensils for cooking, BBQ and the hot tub was perfect after a long day on the mountain. We will definitely be staying again!

Cozy family cabin

Looking out the back windows of this cabin feels like you are in the middle of a forest, which you basically are. From the kitchen and upstairs windows you can see the Upper Truckee River. The cabin has a cozy feel and the gas fire place was nice for snowy days. There are plenty of hooks in the mudroom to hang winter jackets and store wet boots. We liked the instant hot water which was quickly available at all the faucets. We had two families, one took the upstairs rooms and the other downstairs. The four kids ranged from 5 to 11 and spent lots of time on the foosball table and playing in the snow outside the cabin. Plenty of nice forested walks in the area. Be sure to read all the info provided by the owner so you are prepared. For example, they provide 2 roles of TP per bathroom, if you stay for a week and have enough people in the cabin then you will need to bring your own TP to supplement the two roles. Little things like that are explained in the details of the listing. We would enjoy staying here again.

A Gem

This was probably one of the best places we have ever rented through VRBO. It was spacious, clean and had every amenity we needed. It’s located about 30 min from both Heavenly and Kirkwood. Highly recomended.

Great Place

My husband, son, myself and our 2 Bostons had a great time here for a week. It’s a beautiful, cozy home, with lots of updates. Very clean, beds are comfortable, and the kitchen has everything you need. I had to work a lot, internet was fast and very reliable. The outside deck is gated and half the yard is fenced, great for pets and kiddos. Beautiful trees around and the Truckee river steps away. The hot tub is amazing and Linda is a wonderful host! We would definitely like to come back!

Chill River Cabin

We had a delightful stay here in this beautiful and well-appointed cabin. Morning coffee by the banks of the river hearing only the stream and an occasional blue jay was a pleasure. Close to everything but far enough away to leave the South Lake Tahoe busyness behind. Cabin was comfortable and just right.

Great family getaway

Well maintained, clean home with easy access to the river in back of the house. Kids had a blast and grownups had some much needed relaxation time. It was very easy to communicate with the owner and everyone wanted to return to this property!

Peaceful Haven

What a pleasure it was to return to our quiet river cabin after the tourist chaos in South Lake Tahoe. There was plenty of room for five adults. We especially enjoyed the Weber Grill, the outdoor porch with view of the river and the washer/dryer.

Amazing cabin on the Truckee River!

The cabin is perfect! My family of 6 was very comfortable and the yard is so dreamy. We enjoyed fishing and relaxing by the river every day. The kitchen is stocked with everything you could possibly need to cook for a big family. The driveway is big enough for a couple SUV’s and even our boat trailer. Neighbors were quiet and barely any cars even came down that way so the kids could ride bikes with no worries. We’ll be back for sure. I loved the location in Christmas valley - close to Hope Valley for fishing and tons of mountain biking trails and hiking trails near by too. Overall 10/10 stay!

Amazing peaceful cabin in the woods

The pictures do not do this place justice! The home is beautiful, was very clean, sparkling clean hot tub. The river runs through the property giving the most amazing soundtrack to your vacation. The host is extremely responsive and helps with any questions or issues you might run into. Neighbors are very close by, but they are very friendly and did not bother us one bit. Cannot wait to return to this magical place!

Thank you so much for opening up your house to us. Including our dog Wotan!! Home was cozy, clean and an AWESOME ice maker!! The location is the perfect distance from S Lake Tahoe. The neighborhood was perfect for walking. Having the river in the backyard was perfection.

This Cabin was Awesome

We couldn’t believe how nice it was. How peaceful and lovely view of the babbling brook. The cabin was so pretty. Clean. Loved the fact you could use the stereo. The hot tub made this cabin a winner. Not far from everything. But far enough to be quiet. Would highly recommend this Cabin.

Comfortable, Clean and Relaxing!!

This cabin sits right next to the Upper Truckee river. It is wonderful to hear the rushing water through the windows or while you are sitting on the back deck. The cabin is very clean and well kept up. Upon our arrival, the lights were on, the place was clean and clean towels were displayed nicely on each bed. Everything worked well and good instructions provided in the welcome binder. The cabin is cozy and comfortable. The upstairs "master" bedroom is very roomy with it's own outside deck and fireplace. The "kids" room has several beds and a foozeball table. Two bedrooms on the street level are also nice. The bathrooms are clean and the kitchen is well equipped. The back deck has a wonderful table and chairs with an umbrella, BBQ and hot tub. This cabin is located about 15 minutes from the lake and downtown South Lake Tahoe. It is a quiet neighborhood and a great road to walk or bike on. There is also some simple trails to hike nearby. You are only 5-7 minutes from a grocery store, gas, coffee shop and a few restaurants if you don't want to go all the way into South Lake Tahoe. Linda is wonderful to work with and communicates well with those renting. We would stay here again. Other family members have used her place before and have also enjoyed it immensely.

The home was as described. Very comfortable place in a beautiful setting. We did have some issues with hot water, but the owner was very attentive and addressed this as quickly as possible. Communication with the owner was excellent.

I moved to South Lake Tahoe for the beauty and outdoor recreation. Skiing, snowshoeing, hiking, mountain biking. It's paradise! I have enjoyed sharing this cabin with like minded guests since 2008.

Why they chose this property

I love the serenity of this neighborhood located at the end of Christmas Valley. Here, several creeks run year round through the surrounding neighborhood before emptying into the Upper Truckee River which runs along the back of the cabin. Wildlife and wildflowers are in abudance. And theres nothing like falling asleep at night to the sound of the river in the background.

What makes this property unique

Aside from the neighborhood, the cabin is well stocked with everything you may need during your stay. It has a cozy, homey feel to it. We are happy to provide information and history about our area and offer our guests the quiet enjoyment of our cabin, property and our neighborhood.
While we operated as a regularly permitted Vacation Rental for over 12 years. Recently, the County adopted and has mismanaged a VR Ordinance.Many parts of the ordinance violate private property rights, constitutionally protected rights, as well as guest privacy and quiet enjoyment of the property. We researched and made the decision operate as a PMA (Private Membership Association). What is a PMA?
PMA stands for “Private Membership Association”. PMA’s go back as far as the 1950’s when they were established to protect the right to associate and the right to privacy for civil rights groups. Today, PMA’s exist as healthcare centers, bars, restaurants, gyms, vacatrion retreats and markets/co-ops.
A PMA, under constitutional protection (the due process liberty clause of the 5th and 14th Amendments), grants its members the right to associate, the right to privacy and the right to conduct ‘business’ among its members, in the private domain. The ‘business’ that the association undertakes, is considered a private contractual agreement among the members, and is protected by private domain rights. All members relinquish their ‘public’ status and understand that the business is taking place among ‘private citizens’, therefore generally un-regulated by local, state, and federal regulations. With our PMA, guests pay an annual membership fee $100. We are exempt from El Dorado County 12% Transient Occupancy Tax. This saves our members approximatley $40 per night in taxes but more importantly ensures our cabin can be owned and operated without government interference really focusing on consumer needs and creating a sense of community.
