About this property

Beautiful Historic Home With Great Location!

The "Philip Clayton House" (Annapolis license STR21-144988) is a fully up-dated, historic home in the Federal style dating from 1834, in easy walking distance to Main Street, City Dock, USNA, St. Johns, St. Mary's, etc. The house has a modern kitchen with a HUGE island and a cozy eat-in area. The large family room has a gas fireplace and a Smart TV. There is a comfy sectional sofa, rocker, and a handmade 'gathering' table that can seat 10. The family room opens out via French doors to a large fenced, brick/stone patio with a firepit, outdoor seating, BBQ grill.

The second floor has 3 bedrooms, all with queen beds. The master has an en-suite bath and a second full bath with tub is located off the hallway. The 3rd floor loft bedroom has 2 twin trundle beds that can sleep up to 4. Each trundle bed can be made up as 2 twins (attached) or a king bed (see photos).

Due to a change in city regulations, guest parking passes for the residential street can no longer be provided for your stay. There is a 15min loading/unloading space just a few houses up the block from the house that can be used or you may park on the street for up to 2 hours in any other open space. The city does provide free parking from 6PM Friday to 6AM Monday at the Calvert Street Garage (19 St. Johns Lane, 0.6mi/12min walk to house) or you can also park in the following garages/lots: Hillman Garage (150 Gorman Ave - entrances from Main St or Duke of Gloucester - $20/day; 1 block from house), South Street Lot - South Street off Church Circle ($15/day, 0.4mi/9min walk to house), Gotts Court Parking Garage – 25 Northwest Street ($15/day, 0.6mi/12min walk to house), Knighton Parking Garage – 1A Colonial Avenue ($10/day, .07mi/15min walk to house), Park Place - 5 Park Place (just off West St - $20/day). The free Annapolis Circulator bus stops at all the city garages/lots and the city dock (closest stop to house) and can be used to get to/from the garages. The house is already booked for Commissioning Week 2024. Commissioning week rentals are done as an 8-night block from Ring Dance Weekend thru Memorial Day Weekend.

Beautiful convenient location

Great property for getting to and from the naval academy, Main Street and to the other side of the river. We walked absolutely everywhere. Beautifully decorated with a large kitchen for easy cooking in and a nice backyard with a fire pit.

Our family enjoyed the house and location. Very easy to walk to DTA/USNA/Eastport. The house was comfortable, lovely and enjoyed by all. Everyone had space to spread out. Will certainly stay here again!

Annapolis house

Great location! Walkable to shops, restaurants, Naval Academy, water tours. House was loaded with supplies everything you could need in a kitchen. Plenty of towels and paper supplies as well.

Perfect!

My daughter and I and a friend and her daughter stayed for a swim meet at USNA. This house was exactly as described. Incredibly clean, spacious and the location could not have been more perfect. We loved the fact that we parked the car and just walked everywhere from coffee in the morning to breakfast and dinner and less then 5 minute walk to the Navalacademy for the swim meet. Would recommend 100%

Beautiful Weekend!

Prime location. Close to downtown and Naval Academy. Easy in and out. Close to parking garage. We had a great weekend with problems! Would rent again for sure!

Charming home in perfect Annapolis location

This is a charming, older row home in the heart of downtown Annapolis. Walking distance to everything, and we loved that. Spacious and comfortable. There is no parking at the home, but we easily parked around the corner at a pay lot (and there is a reserved loading space out front for moving in/out). After our stay, I communicated with the owner that there were several lights out, the gas fireplace remote didn't work, and it was missing a couple kitchen items we wish were there. She was very responsive, so I hope she remedied those issues for the next renter. Overall, I highly recommend this home.

Location! Location! Location!

Great house in the heart of downtown Annapolis!Walk to everything! Well kept with lots of fun and historic USNA decor. Looking forward to staying again for future visits to our Mid. No negatives but one suggestion would be to clean up & spruce up the back patio and yard for the seasons when it would be useful. Once again, GREAT HOUSE!

Great Family House

We had a wonderful Navy football weekend stay in Annapolis at this property. We had 2 families (one with 2 kids and another with 3 kids) and we all were very comfortable. The location can’t be beat walking distance to Main Street, The Yard, and Navy Marine Corps Stadium. Parking garages nearby were also convenient.

Great place for a big family or group to stay. Very close to downtown Annapolis. Everything is labelled for finding items, light switches etc. Check in and check out went off without a hitch. Communication was great, host was available when needed and not at all intrusive (as we have seen before). Hope to stay here again.

Arrived with fire alarm going off. Handy man came. Couldn't fix. Not able to stay at the house. Had to be switched to another house which was not anywhere near the location I wanted.

Beautiful House in a Perfect Location

This gorgeous and historic home was perfect for a girls trip. The bedrooms were spacious and there were multiple gathering spaces for everyone to relax together. The home is steps from Main Street with a convenient parking garage one block away. The host went above and beyond to help, even helping to return an item that I left behind after our stay. 10/10 spot for your Annapolis getaway!

Great house with amazing location

We stayed here during the Annapolis Sailboat show, big kitchen and living room to hang out in plus a big garden out back. Only a block from downtown Annapolis and the show. This was the second year in a ow we stayed here, great place!

Beautiful Historic Home in DTA

Beautiful home on a lovely street right around the corner from St. Mary's Church. Very convenient to walk everywhere. The place was spotless and very comfortable. Deborah was a joy to work with and very communicative.

This house is perfectly located if you are needing to be close to the Naval Academy. We enjoyed the backyard and having the grill and firepit. Host was very responsive to our questions.
