About this property

Villa Humbourg a magnificent Tuscan villa from the 18th century will enchant you

Imagine the beauty and the charm of yesteryear! The owners, who live on the ground floor, have carefully restored two spacious apartments of almost 100 square meters, both of the two B § B suites include two double bedrooms, an huge romantic bathroom, a little bathroom and a spacious living room. A fully equipped kitchen with induction hob, dishwasher, washing machine and microwave oven is available in a separate room.
Free Wi-Fi, Sat TV, heating and air conditioning are at disposal. Bed linen and towels are on hand and are changed weekly.
You will relax in the absolute tranquility of the classic garden with outdoor furniture and a breath-taking sunset, in the middle of an old park among cypresses, olive groves and vineyards. We are in the countryside, surrounded by a wondrous landscape, but our location midway between Florence and Siena is as well perfect in order to visit the most important touristic centers, as San Gimignano, Volterra, Pisa. Ideal for those looking for art and culture in Tuscany, silence and country walks in a breath-taking landscape. Traditional Tuscan cuisine in the surrounding area is well known for its authenticity and can be tasted in many recommended restaurants.
Guests can choose to prepare their own breakfast or order with additional charge a delicious continental breakfast based on fresh local ingredients of their own choice.

Life at Villa Humbourg
Our host kept in communication with us as we traveled to the villa in case we got lost. She met us at the gates and we were very pleased with the beauty and quietness of the place. The villa was very well-appointed with comfortable furniture and beds. The kitchen had everything a vacationing family might need, especially the washing machine. The grounds of the villa were beautiful with several nice outdoor places to sit and watch the sun go down or rise! Our hosts were very respectful of our privacy but were there in a flash if we needed help. We loved it and would definitely return.

Vacation in a BEAUTIFUL piece of Tuscan history
Our group of six adults was enchanted with our stay in this beautiful villa in the Tuscan countryside. We wanted to be in a peaceful setting with beautiful views, and this place exceeded our expectations, even down to the winding roads to reach the house. The gated entrance, driveway and parking area required a bit of a learning curve in our Passat wagon, but it was a minor inconvenience when considering the setting and view from villa with its lovely gardens. The apartments were beautiful and unique; we felt ourselves in another era and lifestyle. It was impeccably clean. We had everything we needed. The owners/hosts Ludovica and Christian were warm, welcoming and friendly. Upon request, we received a tour of the whole house along with an amazing history lesson and a little background about olive oil farming and production. It was easy to reach numerous small towns; Certaldo, a fun 15 minute drive, is a wonderful place to visit (amazing market on Wednesdays), especially the old town reached by a funicular. San Gimignano was only 30 minutes. Certaldo has a train station from which you can easily reach any number of cities. Plenty of vineyards for wine tasting within a 15 minute drive, and also restaurants. Our only regret was we were only there for three nights.

Magnificent Estate in Beautiful Tuscany
Luxurious accommodations in a historic mansion. Both guest quarters were completely remodeled a few years ago with modern fixtures, WiFi, TV's, AC/Heat thermostats in every room. 1&1/2 bathrooms per 2 bedroom suite with spacious living rooms. Microwave, washers, coffee pot available. Complete sets of dishes and cutlery in each suit. Comfortable beds and roomy modern showers. MUCH more than a B&B. Each apartment is comfortable, spacious and has a connecting door between them. The delightful hosts live below the guest quarters and are eager to show you the well maintained and furnished decor of historic Italian Villa Humbourg that is their home. Our hosts helped book tours, served breakfast and recommending dining options. As world travelers they were knowledgeable, multi lingual, helpful and friendly. A nice family run restaurant is 400 meters away with a fabulous restaurant about 2 miles down the road you'll want to dine at every chance you get. Absolutely stunning property we will never forget and hope to return some day.

Host profile image
Villa Humbourg has been a property of our family since the Middle Ages. Now it is my turn to preserve this important tradition and I am very proud to live now in the house where I grew up and which reminds me wonderful moments of my childhood. Otherwise I know very well that I must improve myself in a changing world through traveling, languages, cultural experiences and new technologies.
You are welcome in our estate, I´m very fond to get in touch with different cultures and to be able to present and share with you my own culture.

Why they chose this property

Our villa is an ancient landowner´s estate in Tuscany, whose historical and architectural development is directly linked with the engaging history of Tuscany itself. Would you like to live directly this unique experience?
Your own apartment has been carefully restored according to the Tuscan aristocratic tradition of ancient floors, of marble effect walls and of high ceilings and elegantly decorated with soft colors and ancient Tuscan furniture.
Nevertheless we offer you all of the modern comforts of today including free Wi-Fi, Sat TV, heating and air conditioning. The pièce de résistance is surely the air pool bathtub in Mirtillo apartment.
If you are looking for a tranquil and relaxing setting to enjoy the free air, you could rest in our delightful garden surrounded by a wondrous landscape.

What makes this property unique

I offer a free guided visit of the whole villa with historical information. Villa Humbourg is a farm specialized in the production of high-quality extra virgin olive oil, guests can therefore attend to a seminar about Tuscan oil ( with oil tasting ) and about different cultivation methods in the agriculture nowadays and in the past. Guided tours in Tuscany about relevant historical artistic subjects are available on request. We are anyhow always on hand to provide any information.
Our oil is an outstanding Tuscan product, listed as one of the top 50 from Tuscany and could be the perfect gift to take home with you.
