Location, Location, Location, slope-side in the Axtel Building. This unit has a king-size bed and pull-out couch.

It is located in Mt Crested Butte, on the slope side of the mountain. Beautiful views off the large balcony, looking right at the mountain. Views from the bedroom, kitchen, and living area. Shops and restaurants are just around the corner, and Historical Crested Butte is just a short 10-minute (free) bus ride with more shopping and amazing restaurants for all walks of life.

It's the perfect location for skiing and mountain biking. A true ski-in/ski-out and bike-in/bike-out location. If you were any closer, you would be sitting on the mountain.

Good little condo

Good little condo for a short trip. The condo was pretty well stocked. You can’t get any closer to a lift. Communication was good with the host. They typically responded within 12 hours of messaging. The bad with being so close to the lift and base area was the noise of the snow cat early in the morning and the music from Jose Mexican restaurant in the afternoon. Thankfully the music didn’t last that late into the evening.

Best ski-in ski-out location at the Base of Crested Butte

You really can’t find a better location than this. The balcony looks directly at the two main lifts, making it easy to come and go all day while you ski. You are steps away from the slopes, restaurants, shops and the bus stop, making anything you want to do easy. The host was quick to answer questions and the check in process was super easy. Bed is comfy, smart TVs in both rooms are easy to use, really no complaints and would recommend this place to anyone!

Great location!!

We absolutely loved the condo! It’s the perfect size for 2 people. We didn’t ski but it couldn’t be more perfect for skiers. The bed is really comfortable. The kitchen has everything you need. They could maybe add a pizza cutter. It’s a bit of a hike to get your luggage and groceries through the snow and up the stairs but the view is worth it.

Great Location

This is a great place to stay for those who are active. The condo is located right off the ski lift and also a great location for downhill mountain biking in the summer. Nice large porch with views of Mount crested Butte and all the action! Restaurants and outdoor bar, shops just around the corner. The condo is small, perfect for two. There is no elevator only stairs to second floor. The parking lot for your vehicle is on the other side of the building. There is a bit of a steep incline in parking lot to get to condo. The only downfall is the cleaning crew did not clean off porch furniture, and the sheets on the bed looked used when we arrived. The owner who lives up stairs has a dog that they let on the porch above and sometimes can have an accident.

Nice property in a great location!

We stayed here for a Christmas ski trip and thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this property. You literally cannot possibly be any more ski-in/ski-out positioned. The unit is in nice condition and is well decorated, but be advised it is an older property and isn't quite pristine so if you require an unblemished space you should look at one of the newer (and much more expensive) properties. We were only very minimally bothered by thin walls and noise from other units in the Axtel Building (as some other reviews of units in this building complain of). But be aware that you will hear the groomer machines working overnight at times since they do come within a few feet of the building when grooming the base/lift-loading area). My only complaint at all was that the fireplace isn't functional. (The listing does not specificy there's a fireplace, but it can be seen in photos, so I assumed we would be able to use it.) Overall, I rate this a 4-star property and highly recommend it if you are not bothered by the 2 minor deficiencies listed above.

Perfect location

This condo is the closest you can get to the lifts at the base of Crested Butte. It is a very comfortable space for 2 people. The Breville espresso machine was a luxury. The kitchen is well stocked. The bed was extremely comfortable. We were prepared by all the other reviews for difficulty in finding the access to the condo and sure enough- despite very good directions by the host- we still had trouble the first time. It truly is a trek, especially with heavy ski bag and suitcase. Once we found it- the trek was well worth it. I will say that the owner is one of the most responsive hosts I have ever encountered and we really appreciated that. Overall the convenience of this condo can’t be beat!

Best location for ski trip!

This location of this property is unbeatable. We were the closest people on the mountain to the main lifts. The unit is clean and comfortable with all the amenities we needed. Communication w/ owner was good and he was able to quickly address any questions.The only drawback is that parking is on the backside of the building and the unit is on the front, so getting your luggage in/out requires a couple sets of stairs and walking through the snow, but it's definitely worth the effort for having the best possible location.

Location, location, location!

This unit was the closest I have ever been to the ski lifts! Great location to the lifts and action after skiing. The unit is a little small but great for couples. The only challenge was getting to the unit from the parking lot. It might be useful to include a map showing the best route to access the front door from the parking lot. We enjoyed our stay and would book again!

Cozy Slope-side Condo

My husband and I really enjoyed our short stay in this condo. Roger was so helpful and made the check-in process a breeze. You can’t beat being steps away from the lift. The hot tub is also amazing!

Excellent location, perfect hotel alternative

The owner was very friendly and communicative, and prepared me well for arrival and knowing local amenities of interest. The property itself was the perfect size for me and would be great for a couple as well. Those staying with added people, those extra folks will be on the couch in the living room. There are some comments about the difficulty in accessing the condo (you have to go up a flight of stairs at the front, then walk around the snow side, and go up one more flight to the condo, which faces the slopes), and yes this is accurate but it's really not a big deal unless you are extremely out of shape or otherwise impaired. I would not recommend it for those that have trouble with stairs. Not many folks looking for what is truly a ski in, ski out place would care about stairs, I imagine. After the initial hauling of bags to the condo, the stairs weren't even a thought or concern. Parking is simple and there is a parking pass. I had no issues with finding a space in the permitted lot. The condo is clean, has basic amenities for cooking, good working smart TVs, and a comfortable bed. I have zero issues with the place inside and out. There are two sliders leading to the balcony that looks directly at the slopes. Seriously, this was perfect. I attended a meeting next door at Elevation Spa and Resort and it was a 2 minute walk on the snow to get in to the hotel meeting space. Zero regrets about opting out of staying at the hotel!!

CB Ski Week Getaway

Fantastic experience at this ski in/ ski out condo. Very clean and accurate photos/description about this property. Much like the other reviews, the condo can be a little challenging to find but once you figure out the location and route to get to the actual condo it isn't too bad. Would be nice if the Axtel Building had a cut through route from the parking lot to the slopeside condos but that path is occupied by offices. Roger was great to communicate with and I would highly recommend this condo to couples or families of four. Great place.

So this is our dream we want to share with you! We have been to CB for years as a family and decided to buy a unit to use and share with others! This condo could not be closer and after years of renting, we were able to buy! Come and enjoy the best-kept secret in Colorado!

Why they chose this property

This place cannot be closer...in the summer, great access to the mountain and summer concerts off your deck. In the winter, super easy to put your skis on and the lift is right in front of the steps. Location, location, location for sure!
