The locals use the word limin’ as an expression for hanging out. The word is associated with sitting under a lime tree or having nothing more demanding to do than squeezing limes. In honor of this local vernacular, we painted our home lime green and named her Lime Time. We hope during your stay here, you embrace this laid back attitude – it’s Lime Time!
Lime Time is a West Indies style home with high open beamed ceilings and splashes of Caribbean colors on the inside to invite you to come limin’. Lime Time is a private two-bedroom, one bath cottage nestled just above Coral Bay with both water views and valley views. From the deck, you will enjoy cooling trade wind breezes, see spectacular sunrises over the water, a rainbow in the valley after a rain shower, the ruins of a windmill constructed in the 1700s, and very little light pollution for incredible stargazing. The kitchen and living space are open concept with tons of counter space making it feel spacious and allowing ample room to cook, eat, and relax. There is a table for 6 both inside and outside and a full kitchen in case you just want to grill out and lime out. On the back deck is a hot tub and outdoor shower – both private yet with a view! Lime Time is perfect for a romantic getaway, for two couples, or a family of 4.
To add to your comfort, the cottage has battery backup should the island loose power. You are a half a mile away from the heart of Coral Bay - Love City Market, Lime Out, Johnny Lime, Jolly Dog, etc. And just a mile away from the famous Skinny Legs and Rhumb Lines!
Rent a Jeep as some of the best beaches require high clearance and are not paved. About 1/3 mile of the road to Lime Time is unpaved.

Eric and Catherine have been annual visitors to St John since 2011. They purchased a hurricane damaged property in 2018 and lovingly restored the quaint lime green Coral Bay cottage. In honor of the locals use of the word limin' as an expression for hanging out or having nothing more demanding to do than squeezing limes, we named the cottage, Lime Time. We hope you enjoy limin' at Lime Time!
Why they chose this property
It is in the middle of it all yet very private! No other tenants or property managers on premises. However, the property manager lives just up the street should you need anything! You are a 10 minute drive to the North shore beaches, 15 minutes to the floating taco bar, Lime Out, voted TIME Magazine World’s 100 Greatest Places of 2019. From the deck, you will enjoy cooling trade wind breezes, see spectacular sunrises over the water, a rainbow in the valley after a rain shower, the ruins of a windmill constructed in the 1700s, and very little light pollution for incredible stargazing. There is a hot tub to relax in first thing in the morning or when you get home from the beach!
What makes this property unique
Brand new everything in 2019! Lime Time has one of the flattest driveways on the island and a Jeep can easily turn around! Trust me, this is a big deal. Just 6 steps from the driveway to the house and one floor living! Full kitchen! Battery backup in case the island looses power.
