I stayed at this home for 4 nights with friends and had a wonderful time. We loved being able to cook all sorts of good food in the full kitchen and explore the large property. It was my dream to bring my closest friends to Buffalo Mountain and Meadow of Dan where part of my family used to live and staying at this house made that experience possible.
Porch n Pasture was an excellent location for our purpose to reconnect with family that lives in the area. It’s located in a very rural area surrounded by rolling mountains and lots of cows. My children loved waking up to see where the cows had moved to in the night. All the amenities were top notch, the gas fire places (2) were easy to use, key location and access were seem less. My older children loved the bunk beds. The house provided the pack n play which made travel so easy. The downstairs storage cabinets were filled with toys for my kids to play with. There were also lots of games and puzzles.
The front porch was a favorite for everyone, endless seating and comfort. We participated in the wine share, it was nice trying some local wines. We traveled to Floyd for the Friday night jam session and to Meadows of Dan for lunch at Jane’s. Both towns are very small but very easy to navigate and everyone is very welcoming. I would highly recommend this location for family or couple that want to reconnect and take it easy.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Porch and Pasture. The house is beautifully furnished and very comfortable. We spent many hours on the porch when we were at the house. The porch, rockers, and porch swings were a real treat.
The house location is perfect for getting on/off the Blue Ridge Parkway and is close to Mabry Mill, Meadows of Dan, Chateau Morrisette and Floyd. We had a great time exploring the area and enjoying the amenities the home has to offer. We would definitely stay here again.
This is our second stay at Porch & Pasture, first time was fall 2020. The home is perfect in everyway, our family really enjoyed our stay. Very close to the Parkway and Meadows of Dan, short drive to downtown Floyd. We enjoyed fishing in the pond, caught and released a few fish. Short drive to Buffalo Mountain, great hiking and views. We hope to return this fall.
We stayed for a few days during the Thanksgiving holiday this year with members of our family. This property blew us away and exceeded every expectation. The location was lovely, just off the Blue Ridge Parkway, and the home itself was amazing. The decor was both beautiful and comfortable, the kitchen was fully stocked and provided everything we needed for meals (and even had an extra, on-counter ice maker which was wonderful considering the number of people we had.) The towels and quilts were plentiful, and everything was immaculately clean. And the toys---this addition, which I don't recall reading about, blew our minds. The downstairs cabinet was completely stocked with a variety of toys and games that kept all the kids happily occupied for hours/days. I can't wait to stay at this property again, perhaps in warmer months when we can also enjoy the pond and some time on the porch. I can't recommend this property highly enough.
This house is new, spacious, clean, cozy and comfy, kitchen is well equipped and it is stunningly well decorated!
Great views from the porch - morning tranquility while drinking your fresh cup of coffee - just amazing!
We would love to be back!
We have stayed in several properties in the area over years. All have been great, this house is wonderful. Very clean, new, everything you need and then some. Don’t bother packing games or toys for kids, games and movies for every age. My grandson and son enjoyed the pond and caught a few fish. Buffalo Mountain Nature Preserve is minutes away, great hike with beautiful views. We really hope to visit again soon.
