Jordbaer Hus is on a private 2 acre wooded lot with 160 feet of shoreline on one of the cleanest lakes in Minnesota. There is plenty of room for large families or multiple couples.
The main cabin has a beautiful cozy wood interior with expectional views of the lake and the undeveloped north end of the lake. The house faces north which allows for incredible sunset views as well as sunrise views for the early risers.
The main cabin has 3 large comfortable bedrooms and two full bathrooms. The main floor has a large kitchen, dining room, living room and sunroom with elevated views towards the lake. The downstairs has a large comfortable living room. A perfect spot to relax at the end of a fun day or on a rainy day.
The bunkhouse allows for additional space for a second small family or older kids. It has 2 bedrooms, a full bathroom, and a small living room. The bunkhouse is only available for use in the summer months.
In the summer, the lakefront is perfect for lounging and swimming. The huge grass yard offers plenty of room to play yard games or to turn the kids loose. It leads to the crystal clear lake with a sand filled bottom. No need to worry about rocks hurting your feet! There is a gradual slope into the lake that allows children a large shallow play area. There is also room to use the dock to park your own boat.
In the winter there are a ton of outdoor activities if you feel like leaving the cozy cabin. First, Strawberry Lake offers excellent ice fishing. Enjoy a few hours on the lake and then head back to the cabin to warm by the fire. There is also snowmobiling on the lake. The lake connects to a large network of Minnesota trails some leading to Itasca State Park and then even further on to Duluth, MN. Near the cabin you can partake in downhill as well as cross-country skiing. The newly opened Detroit Mountain offers fantastic Minnesota downhill skiing. If cross-country skiing is more your style there are a couple of different options. You can always ski on the lake although there are no groomed trails. If groomed trails is what you are after there are two spots to give a try. Maplelag resort maintains 70 kilometers of trails.
