Charming Cottage by the Beach - 1 Block from Seawall & Close to Everything

Cozy and charming cottage just 1 block (from alley) and 2 blocks (from front door) of walking distance from Seawall. The famous Mardi Gras and July 4th parades route is also just a stone throw away. The house is well maintained with high ceilings and full of amenities for your convenience including stainless steel kitchen appliances and washer/dryer. Two full bathrooms and two good sized bedrooms with a spacious living room that can easily sleep up to 8 people with comfortable mattresses, with some being cool gel memory foam.

A nice deck patio to sit and enjoy the wind breezes from the beach in a huge backyard with manicure landscaping. 4th of July fireworks are only 1 block from home and can be enjoyed from the backyard's deck or walk to the seawall to view over the Gulf of Mexico. The house is walking distance to the Galveston Historic Pleasure Pier as well as many great restaurants.

Charming Cottage by the Beach is registered with the City of Galveston Park Board. Rate includes 9% City Hotel Operating Tax (HOT).

We provide local maps, restaurant menus, brochures on local venues and information about Galveston Island.

Beach toys and beach chairs are provided for your use.

This cottage is truly a rare find for the island escape you and your family ever dreaming of; and You will be glad you book this CHARMER!!!

Additional rules (please see House Manual for further details upon check-in)
-Minimum age to rent is 25
-Treat the home with respect
-No smoking in house (no cigarette butts or trash in yard)
-Wash your own dishes
-Wearing shoes in the house is not allowed
-Please use outside shower in the backyard to wash off any sand and dry off before entering the house
-No loud music or noise after 10PM
-There are free parking in front and on driveway next to the house. Please only park in front of the house vicinity and at least 10 feet from the fire hydrant. Do not block the neighbor's driveway as your car can be towed at your own risk.
-Do not put shrimp shells or fish scales in garbage disposal
-Do not flush feminine hygiene products down the toilet (including "flushable" tampons applicators, pads or wipes, or chunks of toilet papers). Use trash can in bathroom.
-Do not place barbecue on Deck; use only in yard
-Clean barbecue after use
-Upon departure, please place linens/top sheets and towels on floor in front of washer/dryer
-Start dishwasher if have dirty dishes in there
-Remove ALL trash bags (kitchen & bathrooms) to City cans by the gate inside the backyard.

Weekend Getaway

The location was great for us. Perfect walking distance to the beach and hot spot local restaurants. We brought the family down for little weekend break and we had a wonderfully time. We're looking forward to doing it again next year.

Good location

Overall the home was just right for our stay. The road construction made it difficult to get in and out but other than that Charming Cottage is in a very good location.

Board game family time

We had a wonderful time at this perfect house with such cute architectural details like high ceiling, cute molding, and stained glass windows. We enjoyed afternoons playing games. We used the games in the kitchen nook along with some we had brought. The ac worked fabulously. The location was close enough to the beach even in the heat advisory we could walk with the the 5, 8, & 12 year old. Thanks for offering for rent such a fabulous house.

Perfect family cottage close to the beach!

My husband and I stayed with our two teen daughters over the 4th of July. The house was so clean and had everything we needed. Great location, only 1-2 blocks from the beach/sea wall where we went every day and spent 4th of July watching the parade, fireworks, and drone show. Lots of great food options in walking distance including the taco truck, Queen’s BBQ, and many more. Loved drinking coffee in the back porch, grilling fresh seafood from Katie’s seafood market, and watching movies in the spacious living room. Beds were very comfortable and both bathrooms were very clean with great big showers. The host was very easy to reach and immediately responded to any questions before and during our stay. Would highly recommend!

Family Vacation

The property was not as listed, no foosball table for the kids, the TVs didn’t have satellite and didn’t work, the owner did try to help me activate Amazon but that was cutting into our family time. The BBQ grill is broken and was in a rusted mess in back yard. The house wasn’t super clean on check in- stains on bedding couch etc. The normal items at a rental were not there, one bathroom no hand soap, only 1/2 roll of toilet paper, no soap for showers. The location is close to the beach which was great. The property manager did come and help us get new bedding, soap and brought one roll of toilet paper we still had to go get enough for 4 days and 4 people, we wasted time with all the messages and calls. The quick response was the reason for the higher rating, I would not stay here again.

Thank you for your feedback and we are glad you enjoyed your time at the beach with our convenient location of the property. I have addressed this with the cleaning crew and the reason was because they had someone new cleaning my property. We tried to address all of your concerns right away on the same day when brought to our attention. I have mentioned to you in our check-in message that the toilet paper was only an initial supply and guests need to purchase their own after that. This is a house rental, and most people misunderstand it as a hotel regarding supplies. We try our best to accomodate our guest's needs most of the time. Also, we bought new bedding and blanket right away when a stain was discovered. Even though it was washed, the stain was still on there and the cleaning crew missed it. Also, we did not have any issues with the TV from previous guests. The Roku was probably down at your stay. I offered to install Amazon Prime TV and it just need one step from you to make it work but you decided to cut out communication regarding this. I sent a text and gave you a call just wanting to see if you want to get access and you ignored all my text/call. I honestly did not want to bother our guest, I was trying to address the problem. I stopped after i sent you the text and one phone call. If you didn't want, you can simply reply no need anymore. I apologize about the football table, it was broken recently and we did not have time to repurchase a new one.

Spacious cottage close to beach, food, and drinks

The rental process was easy, and Van stayed in communication during the entire stay. We had an issue with the electronic keypad upon arrival. I called Van and the problem was fixed remotely during the phone call. The property itself was very clean and spacious. There were 6 adults on the trip and plenty of room for everyone. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes, pots/pans, cooking utensils, and silverware. The screened in porch had some stuff for the beach, a charcoal grill, and some seating. The outdoor showers in the back were nice after coming back from the beach. We had a great time, and Van was an excellent host!

Wonderful

Within a block of the beach and a short walk to Pleasure Pier. The house was clean, no problems with parking and cute fenced in back yard. The owner was very attentive and it's great to have a full size washer and dryer! All things like towels, sheets and toliet paper were provided too. We would definitely stay again!

Home away from home
