About this property
Historic 1880s Home
Voted 2021 and 2023 Readers’ Choice Best Bed and Breakfast of the Valley by the Sun Country Messenger!
Perfect for those who appreciate yesterday’s handiwork, this spacious 1880s home is truly one of a kind built by pioneering Dr. Combacker. Slow down and relish in yesteryear as you sip coffee in a front porch rocker, bird watch from the bay window, or take a long soak in the jetted tub.
Loaded with more than the essentials, we offer a full kitchen, bbq equipment, and toiletries. Besides being close to outdoor recreation and downtown, you’ll find plenty to keep you entertained here from board games, puzzles, cards, and reading material to a big backyard with an outdoor fire pit.
Wonderfully nestled in the St. Croix Valley, this home’s location will not disappoint. You’ll be a short distance from all that the Twin Cities has to offer, a brief walk away from beautiful downtown Osceola, and close enough to explore the great outdoors. Come spend a night away yet within arm’s reach of it all at Osceola’s most historic estate.
Please note this is a duplex and there is potential for noise. We live in the adjacent unit and have two young children who like to do child things. We do our best to be respectful of our guests by keeping noise and activity at a minimum, and we give our guests first priority in shared outdoor spaces.

About the host
Hosted by Allison

I’m a fun-loving, fast-talking, small town-walking wife, mama, teacher, entrepreneur, patriot, and lover of Jesus. My interests and experiences are broad but are deeply rooted in country living and loving.
I’m excited to extend my homegrown hospitality to all of you fellow adventurers. So if there’s ANYTHING I can do to help make your stay more comfortable, PLEASE reach out. I’m here for suggestions, available for strange coffee requests, and accommodating to spontaneous cookie cravings.

Why they chose this property
When looking to purchase a home in the area, we were sick of looking at cookie-cutter layouts. We wanted a home with character and a story to tell. And boy oh boy, did we ever land the jackpot! We immediately fell in love with everything this charming home offered—from its original hardwood floors, replicated gas chandeliers, and intricate woodwork to the story of Dr. Combacker behind the home’s great walls. We’re happy to share original pictures of the home inside and out and telegram copies to and from Dr. Combacker. Just ask!
What makes this property unique
We love this home’s location because you can walk to everything you need. We’re also especially proud of how the home holds its grandeur from over 100 years ago yet still offers 21st century accommodations.
