Sundowner's Retreat is an unbelievable BRAND NEW mountain cabin atop Richards Mountain, just 10 minutes to beautiful Downtown Blue Ridge. Custom built home with 100% salvaged Ponderosa Blue Pine - the walls, ceilings and floors are almost as spectacular as the views. A Sundowner is simply a happy hour enjoyed at sunset. You can enjoy a different view from 3 different decks, the lower level deck with a 6 person hot tub, the main level deck with swivel-glider Adirondack chairs and a glider love seat or our screened in party porch with comfortable furniture, party lights and a wood burning fireplace.

Inside, the main level has a spacious living room with a 50" 4K Smart TV, wood burning fireplace, dining room with an incredible 8 ft dining table and a large kitchen with all the equipment the cook in the family could ever need - all with amazing views out the wall of windows. A full bath and laundry along with a bedroom with a beautiful wrought iron queen bed and a custom hand crafted log bunk bed closes out the main level.

Upstairs, you will find the private master suite. A beautiful and comfortable tufted king bed awaits with a large walk-in closet, 43" 4K Smart TV and a master bathroom with a large shower with a bench and a double vanity crafted from live edge Ponderosa Pine.

The lower level is where the fun hides, a ping-pong table and full wet bar are sure to be the main hang out spot. Watch the game on our 43" 4K Smart TV and enjoy a fire in the gas fireplace... yes, there are THREE fireplaces! The sofa sleeper allows for more friends to join in the fun. Outside on the lower deck, the 6 person hot tub is perfect for those chilly nights stargazing or watching the incredible sunsets. The third bedroom is on this level and has a king bed, club chair and chest of drawers, if you're staying a while. A third full bath with a shower/tub combo wraps up the lower level.

Felt ignored by the property manager. We almost had to cancel because we didn’t get access code an hour later than check in time. Nice cabin and shops near by. Had a fireplace and hot tub but didn’t use it. Suggestions: it would have been nice to have tissues in the bathrooms. Kitchen needs some baggies, saran wrap, foil and some small containers with lids.

Great Birthday Weekend

The cabin is very nice and has excellent long range views. You can watch an amazing sunset from the deck or hot tub. Basement entertainment area is great as well.

Great VRBO!

Everything was just great and the pictures didn’t do the property justice. Especially the beautiful Mountain views at sunset. Our favorite memory is having a fire in the fireplace on the porch.

Spring Break Trip

It was a great stay for a big group of friends! The house was clean, spacious, and had everything we needed. We loved the hot tub and sitting on the porches outside! The nearby town of Blue Ridge is really cute, and there are a lot of great hikes around the area.

This is our second time staying and we love it. The only thing that was a problem was the bathroom sink drain extremely slow. Besides that it was wonderful time and great place to spend time with family

Wonderful weekend in Blue Ridge

We really enjoyed our long weekend at this cabin. The cabin was spacious with beautiful views and very clean. It was a short 15 minute drive to downtown Blue Ridge, hiking trails and other attractions. We thought it was reasonably priced for the amenities compared to other cabins we've rented over the years. The beds and other furniture were comfortable and functional. The owner was quick to respond and provided all the informative needed. We would definitely rent this property again.

Fabulous Mountain Home

Fabulous home with magnificent Mountain views! The cabin has a great floor plan, very spacious, abd 3 levels, with plenty of room. All three beds/bedrooms were comfortable for our group of 6. Three fireplaces, two wood burning, (two on main level, main living area and screened porch), and one gas fireplace on the lower level. Kitchen was stocked with everything you might need. We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and would highly recommend this cabin! Many thanks again for the hospitality!

Relaxation at its best!

The views are absolutely breathtaking. We spent a weekend here as part of our Christmas celebrations. We had all these plans to take in the sites of Blue Ridge instead, we enjoyed this beautiful home and never found the need to leave. We played all the board games, enjoyed the hot tub, cooked in the fully stocked kitchen and it was really nice to have a washer and dryer. Each room was decorated beautifully with comfortable beds. Our kids are adults so it was nice that everyone had their own room on their own floor. The basement had a ping pong table and a gas fire place. The gas did run out on us but we were able to use it one night for an hour. We brought logs for the outside porch fire place and it was wonderful sitting outside next to the fire watching the sun set. Communication with the owners was fantastic from the beginning. We hope to have the opportunity to stay again as we really enjoyed being so comfortable, cozy and experiencing that breathtaking view of the mountain. Our family has really never been so relaxed. Thank you for the great experience and the memories that were made because of this beautiful space you provided.

Family vacation

The cabin was clean and comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped. You have a long range view from the nice screened in area and the main level deck but not from the hot tub on the lower level deck in the summer time. The basement was nice and cool. We enjoyed the multiple living spaces, the games, pingpong and overall comfort of the cabin. Thank you!

Great Stay at the Cabin!

We had a fantastic stay at the cabin. The views and the accommodations are outstanding. Our favorite spot to hang out was the screened in porch. A great place to have a cup of coffee, read a book, enjoy a cocktail and simply relax. Communication with Jeff both prior to our arrival and during our stay was always easy and timely. The drive up the last mile or so to the cabin is a bit narrow. Just take your time.

Relaxing week in the mountains

We had a fantastic time at the cabin. Communication was great before and during our stay, and the cabin itself was spacious and perfect for our crew. The downstairs recreational area (ping pong table, TV, hot tub) was perfect for the kids (and really all of us to be honest).We had a great view of the mountains from the back deck, and we really enjoyed the screened in porch as well. We felt like we were hours away from everything, but we were also within 30 minutes of everything we wanted to do. We cannot say enough positive things about our stay. It was tough to leave today.

The cabin was great for our Blue Ridge Mountain visit over Fall Break. The kitchen is well equipped, and seating areas and beds were comfortable. The owners were fabulous to work with as well! We will visit again!
