beautiful but not comfortable
No temperature control..we froze...no signal on the tv...insufficent blinds in the bedroom..was like daylight all night from the streetlights....no tv in the bedroom..bed mattress was hard as the floor...we were on our honeymoon and we both came back with backaches from the hard bed..it was miserable...would never reccomend!
The thermostat is in the living room. When the bedroom door is wide open, the thermostat is behind it. I stayed in this apartment myself the entire week before this guest arrived. They immediately followed my stay. The TV was on a music channel when they arrived. I really wish they had called me. I could’ve made their stay so much better. I frequently help guests with the TV remote. I slept on one of the beds for a full week and was perfectly comfortable. The bedroom windows have Austrian-type shades, not blinds. You can see them in the photos on this listing.
The Coral House
Very clean. Loved the private balcony. Had everything we needed. We will be back.
Cozy and comfy
This place was perfect for our short stay on our way to Florida to visit relatives. It had everything we needed (except I brought my Keurig coffee maker so I could make just one cup instead of having to brew a whole pot). Easy access to the beach. I loved the color scheme, and being on the second floor made it light and bright, especially in the morning when the sun was coming up. We don't usually travel this far south, but will definitely consider this penthouse if we do head to Florida again.
Great quick trip
In town for a wedding, smooth smooth smooth.
Clean, convenient and near the beach.
Great location, we enjoyed our stay. Maybe is time to deep clean floor mat and sofa. Thank you!
We have a carpet cleaning service that we use regularly. On this guest's recommendation we had them shampoo the couches and area rug.
Two lighthouses reside on Tybee Island; less than 3 miles apart, but so radically different in character. As you approach Tybee Island, you see the impressive Tybee Light in the distance. Tall, dark, and handsome with a white cumberbund. He was honored a couple of years ago when he got his own US postage stamp. ( In lighthouse circles that is akin to an Oscar.) But then as you cross the Lazaretto bridge onto Tybee Island, you look down to the left and blink. Is that a lighthouse in the water? Indeed it is. That's plucky little Cockspur Lighthouse. Weathered, plain white masonry. Not flashy at all, except ... At every high tide Cockspur stands in the ocean well off-shore. Only at low tide does the stony spur appear that supports the little lighthouse. A firm foundation after all.
So far the quaint shopping district near the pier has pretty much escaped the wrecking ball; it's still lost in the 40's/50's. Witness Arby's --- Tybee Island's only fast food restaurant. This is pretty much what Arby's looked like when they began in the early 60's. As for shopping, no Sak's here. We're talking beach shopping: T-shirts, souvenirs, Sno-Cones, umbrella drinks, seafood. But remember, for culture and serious shopping, there is colorful, historic Savannah, just 20 minutes away.
