About this property
The Cottage above the Carriage House
The Carriage House Cottage is a darling, well lit 1 bedroom accommodation with beautiful features and views located 3 blocks from St. George's downtown area. Sleeps up to 3 persons in a modern building architecturally matching the historical Pioneer House on the south end of the property. Walk to downtown restaurants, shops, museums and show venues. This paradisaical getaway, with both indoor and outdoor treasures, including hickory hardwood flooring, offers secluded charm that is near it all!
- The bedroom is a delight, with a very comfortable queen bed, skylights, vintage light fixtures, and vintage door hardware. The clothes closet is ample and also well lit. Enjoy views from the low windows of the beautiful side yard and of downtown church spires.
- The bathroom has a tiled wainscot wall and floor with custom designs. Also features a double ended clawfoot tub and shower enclosure, pedestal sink and unique antique toilet fixture, all equipped with styled and quality bright brass fixtures. Including brass trimmed oval main mirror, an accordion make-up mirror, and brass towel rings. A console table provides added surface area and storage of new hair dryer.
- The kitchen has a vintage Wedgewood stove, refrigerator, microwave, matching cookware and service. The countertop is unique bluestone imported from Italy, with clay-fired farmhouse sink and Chicago faucet.
- A dining nook, seating up to 3, fronts double French doors that open to the deck.
- The living space across from the kitchen offers a sleeper sofa (sleeps 1 with 71" x 42" sleep area) and a quaint bistro desk, which also serves as an additional table if needed.
- The deck features a chaise lounge chair, a Jack and Jill patio bench with a retractable shade umbrella, and a BBQ grill. It provides a semi-secluded outdoor room to enjoy the sky, tree tops and red hill.
- The landscaping around the carriage house offers shaded seating on historical sandstone benches and a shaded lawn to enjoy.
- Parking in front of the carriage house for 2 vehicles.
As a city Landmark designated property it is qualified and approved for vacation rental by a city issued conditional use permit.
