Escape on the river

The Get-Away is nestled in a quiet cabin community right on the river with easy access to the two lane road. Enjoy pristine river views from the back deck, private river access and campfire right on the river bank.
The cabin is two bedroom one bath and sleeps 5 in two full beds and one twin. Perfect for couples or small family.
Kitchen is stocked with all the appliances and utensils you would have in the comfort of your home. Towels and linens provided.

We are pet friendly (dogs only, fee required).

The wilds

It’s difficult getting around in the rain, because of the switchbacks and how dark it is. In the sunlight, it’s beautiful, the rolling Hills, the waterfalls the creek right in front of the house. That stayed with most of the time. You are deep in the woods. Glad I went, probably wouldn’t do it again.

Great Place to Relax and Unwind

This has become our favorite "getaway" now the last few years. From sitting on the porch to hanging out in the water to taking the buggy for a ride on the dirt roads, our stay couldn’t have been better! Cheryl is a wonderful host and we’ve never had any issues. We had a great week to relax and unwind!

Country Living

I was amazed by the beauty of the area and the cabin! The inside of the cabin was very clean and welcoming! The over all area is secluded enough away that you definitely need transportation to and from anywhere. Overall it was a great stay with my kids. We brought the ATVs for them to ride and they enjoyed the entire weekend without cellphones!!!

A true getaway!

This cabin is exactly as advertised. A secluded, remote, quiet, and peaceful cabin in the mountains. Cheryl is amazing, very quick to respond to inquiries, but hands off when you need your peace. My son, our husky Falkor, and I all enjoyed the vacation and brought in 2024 in a beautiful snowy bliss! We will be back in the summer to play in the river! Highly recommend!

Peaceful Get-away

Very enjoyable stay! I had wanted to fish, but it was just too cold and rainy (My fault....it is November!!) lol The cabin was clean and stocked with many necessities, even found salt and pepper which I had forgot!! Cheryl even provided a list of items included and by fault things not included. This list was very helpful! I would very much like to book again for spring or early summer. Is there fish in the stream that is beside the cabin?? Thank you so much!

The location is amazing. We wanted to unplug from our busy life and get back to nature. This is the place to do it! Although sleep wasn't easy due to the beds. My husband and i are over 6ft tall and the largest bed was a full that we barely for in. In top of the size, they are very uncomfortable. The pull out couch was more comfortable. The sleeping arrangements are literally the only complaint we have. But not sleeping on vacation, makes it impossible to go back. Which makes us sad bc we gave this property 4 visits in 4 years, hoping the bed issues got resolved. Unfortunately, putting a mattress topper on a problem bed, doesn't fix it. So this was the last year we are going to be choosing this cabin for our annual family vacation.

This is a small cabin in a quiet area of West Virginia with a beautiful river. The back deck overlooks the river. There is a nice area for a fire and the sound of the river is delightful.

It's beautiful

This is one place in earth where you can truly reconnect with nature. Our boys played in the river until we made them get out. We have been here several times and will be there several more as it's our favorite vacation destination!
