A 300 year old commune of 3 superb detached detached self catering stone detached holiday cottages and the owners for rent in the center of Brittany. The cottages have been lovingly restored to their original features and all the cottages have a solar heated pool. The cottages are in the most perfect secluded settings for a relaxing and relaxing holiday, Spring, Summer and Christmas. English owners Garry & Jackie residing permanently on the site to welcome you to Kerhotten self catering cottages in their own little hamlet.
We are located right in the heart of rural Brittany at the end of a leafy country, with no passing traffic and nestling in 3 acres of land on the edge of the LAKE DU DORDU. The cottages share the 30`s 20`solar heated pool, with surrounding patio and sun loungers. There is also the added attraction of an original Breton Bread Oven. The gardens are well stocked and attractive. The extensive grounds afford the opportunity for quiet relaxation and contemplation (there is a separate playing field for those boisterous ball games). Guests can enjoy a quiet game of boules; explore the countryside on cycles (we have cycles available) or on foot. Each cottage has a private garden with a lake view including garden furniture, umbrella and BBQ. WIFI available. Christmas at Kerhotten is lovely, peaceful and very cozy.
The LAKE DORDU is accessible directly from our grounds. Fishing at lake DORDU LAKE has some large common carp, wide Pike, tench, perch and even some wild trout, fishing permits can be purchased at a daily or weekly from the cafe at the lake side, so why not try your luck at fishing or just to enjoy the flora and fauna and the variety of bird life makes an idyllic retreat treat. Canoeing, rowing boats can be used.
Langoelan 20 minute walk to lake or 2 minute car drive offers a bakery, pizzeria, bar, local crafts and a children's activity area, with football, basketball, go carting, tennis.
Guéméné Sur Scorff is a 10 minute drive away from Remnants of the medieval castle, but it was destroyed in the late middle ages and many of the old houses were built from the stones of the castle. The town hosts good restaurants, shops, bakery, chemists and doctors and a tourist office, also cinema that shows some of the movies. There is a wide intermarche in the town for all your needs. The town is full of history and culture and sites to see. The cavalcade of Guémené on scorff parade consists of floats theme flower and humorous of an extraordinary beauty. they are made by an army of volunteers and accompanied by costumed carnivals groups.
Driving is a pleasure on the wonderfully quiet country roads that wind through beautiful tree lined valleys and sleepy villages. This is a fantastic area for cycling, rambling and bird watching. It is an artists paradise with wonderful light and a painting every time you turn around.
With so many coastlines, many leisure activities are focused on the water: sailing, surfing, canoeing, rowing, and sand yachting. For history fans, there are megaliths, castle, museums, and medieval towns, while food lovers will enjoy Breton cuisine, known for its legendary seafood, artichokes, lamb, and pancakes.
Locally we can offer Horse riding that is less than 10 minutes away from golf course about 25 min away, Biking Quad and the famous Lake Guerledan with all manner of water sports and boat trips is 20 minutes away. Fishing is abundance in brittany, the Clearwater Lakes is only about 15 min away and the Nantes Brest Canal is 15 minutes drive. The picturesque Guld of Morbihan is less than an hour away, as are the historic towns of Anray, Vannes, Quimper and Josselin.
We are centrally located about 40 minutes to the west and north coasts, there are spoiled sandy beaches, and various attractions. Choices of beautiful south coast beaches Lorient for one are 40 min away Quimper, & Concarneau are just two.
The atmospheric forest of Heulgoat (part of the Arthurian legend) the medieval forest of Merlin the Magician, where the Knights of the Round Table is searched for the Holy Grail can be found 45 min to the north.
Just 20 minutes away is the Lake Guerledan, which has leisure activities for every member of the family. Its rustic landscape and forest is a haven for walkers, ramblers, mountain bikers and horse-riders. Whilst it's all year round water sports center includes dinghies, rowing boats, pedaloes and water-skiing boat cruises and good restaurants and is well worth the visit. Sandy beaches great for kids with safe swimming and out-door cafes
