The cottages have been lovingly restored to retain many of their original features and all the cottages have panoramic lake views and share a solar heated pool. The cottages are in the most perfect secluded settings for a peaceful and relaxing holiday, Spring, Summer and Christmas. English owners Garry & Jackie residing permanently on the site are waiting to welcome you to Kerhotten self catering holiday cottages in their own little hamlet.
We are situated right in the heart of rural Brittany at the end of a leafy country lane, with no passing traffic and nestling in 3 acres of land on the edge of the picturesque LAC DU DORDU. The cottages share the 30`x 20`solar heated pool, with surrounding patio and sun loungers. There is also the added attraction of an original Breton Bread Oven. The gardens are well stocked and attractive. The extensive grounds afford the opportunity for quiet relaxation and contemplation (there is a separate playing field for those boisterous ball games). Guests can enjoy a quiet game of boules; explore the surrounding countryside on cycles (we have cycles available) or on foot. Each cottage has a private garden with a lake view including garden furniture, parasol and BBQ. WIFI available. Christmas at Kerhotten is lovely, peaceful and very cozy.
The LAC DU DORDU is accessible directly from our grounds. Fishing at lake LAC DU DORDU has some large common carp, large Pike, tench, perch and even some wild trout, fishing permits can be purchased at a daily or weekly from the village bar, so why not try your luck at fishing or just to enjoy the flora and fauna and the variety of bird life makes an idyllic retreat treat. Canoeing, rowing boats can be used on the lake but no motorized vessels are allowed.
Langoelan a 20 minute lake side walk or a 2 minute car drive offers a boulangerie, pizzeria, bar, Local crafts and a children's activity area, with football, basket ball, go carting, tennis.
Gueméné Sur Scorff is a 10 minute drive with Remnants of the medieval chateau remain though it, was destroyed in the late middle ages and many of the existing old houses have been built from the stones of the chateau. The town hosts good restaurants, shops, bakery, chemists and doctors and a tourist office, also cinema that shows some some English films. there is a large intermarche in the town for all your needs. The town is full of history and culture and sites to see. The cavalcade of Guémené sur scorff parade consists of floats theme flower and humorous of an extraordinary beauty. they are made by an army of volunteers and accompanied by costumed carnivals groups.
Driving is a pleasure on the wonderfully quiet country roads which wind through beautiful tree lined valleys and sleepy villages. This is a fantastic area for cycling, rambling and bird watching. It is an artists paradise with wonderful light and a painting every time you turn around.
With so many coastlines, many leisure activities are focused on the water: sailing, surfing, canoeing, rowing, and sand yachting. For history fans, there are megaliths, castle, museums, and medieval towns, while food lovers will enjoy Breton cuisine, known for its legendary seafood, artichokes, lamb, and crêpes.
Locally we can offer Horse riding that is less than 10 min's away and a superb 9 hole golf course about 25 min's away, Quad Biking and the famous Lac de Guerledan with all manner of water sports and boat trips is 20 minutes away.
