About this property

Historic home built in 1929

Built in 1929, the Heritage Haus brings the best of both worlds (new and vintage) together for welcoming you and yours, to the Point Place/Ottawa River/Lake Erie area of Ohio. NEW as in keyless entry, wireless internet, professionally designed and renovated kitchen and bathroom, where no expense was spared on quartz, tile, fixtures, and lighting - as well as a 52 inch new television with channel streaming capabilities. VINTAGE as in antiques and collectibles throughout, that harken back to a simpler gramophone era. Character galore with a 25 foot, open beam ceiling in the living room, original hardwood floors throughout, dining room which seats 6 guests, wrought iron viewing balcony that looks into the living room from the 2nd floor, driveway parking, and covered entry with a wooden box, that during the cooler season, serves as the spot to store sodas and other items that will be ice cold without taking up refrigerator space. This 2 bedroom and 1 bath home offers you the opportunity to be surrounded by the collected antiques and furnishings of one family that has occupied it for over 50 years continuously. It is still owned by the same family and hosts annual holiday gatherings. Now with the renovation, there has been great encouragement to have it available for others to rent and enjoy on a short term basis. We hope you will consider enjoying this space, which has proximity to downtown Toledo (10 mins), the University (15 mins), and Detroit Metro Airport (45 minutes). Morning walks along the water are our tradition as well, and we look forward to welcoming you to the Heritage Haus.

Our new favorite “Go To” happy place!

Well, we certainly appreciated the care and character of this home. It has maybe the best kitchen in the whole wide neighborhood and it felt as though it had been completed just in time for our visit. Ditto on the bathroom :) Tina, thank you for the hospitality and try not to get to booked up so that we are able to rent when we are back visiting family!!

This is the home I grew up in, where my parents raised my two siblings and myself. It is filled with the childhood antiques and furnishings that my parents purchased when I was a child.
