About this property
Hickory Ridge - HotTub, Hickory Ridge - HotTub - GSMNP, NOC, Train and Fontana Lake
A dream come true hideaway on a mountain ridge with peek-a-boo view of Fontana Lake and beautiful mountain ridgeline views. Newly rebuilt and updated inside and out.
Light and bright wood cabin every detail has been thought of for you and your entourage to enjoy a well deserved getaway to the beautiful Smoky Mountains of North Carolina. The cabin sits on a secluded ridge hidden among the trees but within a few minutes to world class fishing, whitewater rafting, canoeing, boating, and the lively vacation town of Bryson City. Do it all or do nothing and just hang out on one of the 3 decks while listening to the sound of silence...or crickets.
The cabin is fully furnished and equipped with everything you and your spouse, your family, or friends need to sleep, cook, make s'mores at the firepit.
You can grill on the national park-style charcoal grill. Please bring your own charcoal because we don't provide it.
On the main level the brand new kitchen has all new stainless steel appliances including a dishwasher. Enjoy the convenience of central heat and air conditioning while hanging out after a day of hiking, biking, horseback riding, or boating. The bedroom on the 1st floor is large with a queen bed and plenty of room for your stuff.
Upstairs you will find 2 bedrooms, a bathroom and a loft. One room has a double bed and twin bed, the 2nd room has a double bed, and the loft has a day bed that doubles as a cozy place to watch a movie with the kids or friends. One bathroom is upstairs and one is downstairs.
Please note that the last 1/4 mile is gravel drive and not recommended for motorcycles or trailers although there is plenty of room to park the trailer if you are accustomed to driving in the mountains.
All consumable products are renters responsibility to bring. There will be a starter amount of paper products/soap for the first day or so. Ingles in Bryson City is where most people do their provisioning.
The lake is at the bottom of the 1/4 mile gravel road, which means this is not waterfront property. The view through the trees is approx 1,000 feet to the lake.
* You can rent boats at Prince Boat Dock, which is about 10 min from the house. Tsali biking/hiking trails and boat ramp (Lemmons Branch) to launch your own boat, jet skis or kayaks is a few miles away too.
Although it is possible to bring a small (less than 21 ft) boat and park it (we have a large parking area), it would not be recommended unless you are used to mountain roads and have 4WD truck/jeep to pull it up the gravel road.

1. Our refund policy is NO REFUNDS within 30 days of reservation date. Please consider purchasing the cancellation protection insurance if you might need to cancel.
2. Primary renter must be at least 25 years old and present the entire stay. You must send a photo of your Driver's license.

Please do not allow dogs on furniture or beds at any time and when unattended MUST be in a kennel or take them with you on a leash to explore the very pet friendly area. Please clean up after your pet. Excessive hair or hair on beds or hair in hot tub (NO animals allowed on beds or in hot tub at any time) will result in additional cleaning charge and possibly loss of deposit. Thank you.
5. Please submit accurate number and names of all guests visiting cabin or risk losing your security deposit.
6. If you use the fire pit, all embers must be extinguished before leaving the fire pit area.
7. All consumables are to be provided by Renter. Enough toilet paper/paper towels/ soap for the first night will be provided to allow an opportunity to go to the grocery store.
8. We pay for internet services, however; we are in the mountains and there are frequent outages due to down trees, storms etc. Frontier will send a message when it is out & when it is restored. No refunds on cabin if it goes out during stay.

About the host
Hosted by Gigi and John

Why they chose this property
This is a beautiful fully remodeled cabin located in a very private area but uniquely close to everything the beautiful western North Carolina mountains offer. Very close to Nantahala gorge and outdoor center for whitewater rafting and kayaking, fishing and hunting, the GSMNP and the GSMNP scenic train (Thomas the train, Polar Express, and other seasonal themed train experiences), hiking, Elk viewing, antiquing, quaint towns for lunching and shopping or just hanging at the cabin and relaxing.
What makes this property unique
Seems remote yet conveniently located for all of the activities the Western North Carolina mountains have to offer.
