This was the second year in a row for us to stay at this property. It accommodates our needs for our family of 10 wonderfully. The location is excellent and we thoroughly enjoy staying at this house in Washington, Missouri.
The only downside this year was that there were mouse droppings in some of the cabinets in the kitchen that required us to thoroughly wash all pots and pans, etc., prior to using them. It’s just a bit unsettling to find the droppings. However, the owners were as surprised as we were and offered to come over right away and set traps.
We were in town for a week for the Bernese Mountain dog national specialty at Purina Farms. This house gave us the ability to travel with our dogs and give them a beautiful yard to exercise and relax in at the end of the day. The neighborhood was beautiful. The neighbors were super friendly and the house had everything that we needed. Super comfortable beds, great AC and heat system, which we ended up needing to use both of during our stay. One thing to be aware of is there is a set of very steep stairs that go up to the second floor. It was a little hard for my older mother to navigate but she did OK. I would stay here again for sure.
The house was perfect. Very nicely decorated and plenty of sleeping spaces. Lots of parking on the street and in the driveway. I didn’t get to walk downtown but my grandkids walked with an adult and got ice cream.
This was a perfect location for our family to meet. The house had everything we needed. The owners were extremely responsive. The Children’s playgrounds in Washington were a bonus.

Well appointed. All amenities that we needed or wanted were pretty much there. Gayle was very responsive. Our party was 7 adults and 3 children and everyone agreed it was a nice stay. Fenced yard was a wonderful playground for the toddlers. Our pooches enjoyed the fenced yard as well.
This home was the cleanest and most well-equipped home we've ever stayed in, and we've been doing this for almost 20 years. The owner was super friendly and returned my call within 2 minutes when we had trouble getting in the front door (our mistake). The house itself, though built in 1860's, was up-to-date and modern on the inside. Cleaning instructions were so easy to follow and made leaving on the last morning simple. The house is within walking distance of the river, and in a beautifully eclectic neighborhood, which we spent several afternoons exploring. We sat on the front porch one evening, just enjoying the ambience. We would absolutely stay here again, in a heartbeat!
You can tell the owners take a lot of pride in their homes. Tastefully decorated with all the amenities. Owners went the extra mile to make our stay and arrivals smooth. Within walking distance of dinner and breakfast joints. Yeah!
We rented 2 houses from Gayle for a wedding in Washington, and it worked out beautifully! Both houses were spotlessly clean and wonderfully appointed. There were even some snacks and helpful information left for guests. We would absolutely recommend this property for others!
Absolutely loved this property. Our group of 10 had plenty of space! Lots of thoughtful touches by the owners!
